Gabriel was the hook that got me to buy this book. I love mechanics. I love how their minds work and the roughness of their hands. If it's a flaw I don't care to correct it. Add in the fact that he is kind, and cooks, and I'm a goner for sure. Gabe was beautifully written.
The heroine ( I can't even remember her name) I thought of as a place holder. She didn't add to the story but she also didn't detract from it. She came across as flat and mostly uninteresting. She had a past trauma but even that didn't make me love or hate her.
My only issue was that the ending felt rushed. We had been along for the ride and then we find out secondhand what the diagnosis and treatment is and that she is actually recovering nicely. Also the swap with the car wasn't necessary. It felt forced and untrue. Adding in the resolution (also unneeded) to the ending just aggravated me.
I also thought it was odd to have her and her father sick at the same time with the same symptoms. I don't know much about this illness so it's absolutely possible that could happen but I hate coincidences. I would have liked to see more of that bonding them together instead of pushing them apart for some of the book.
I also found that a issue with his trauma. If it affected him so strongly one conversation with his brother isn't going to heal him. I wish we had seen therapy, possibly with her present, and personal growth to overcome that instead of a throwaway conversation. I realize that it was the way to introduce the next brother but....
The things I adored were of course Gabe, and I loved all the descriptions of the area. I swear I could smell the lake. I loved that Gabe wasn't a knucklehead but was instead brilliant and driven. The flow kept me engaged and quickly turning pages. The writing is technically flawless with no glaring typos or grammatical errors.
This was my second read by this author but it won't be the last. I really enjoy her work.

Lynn Kellan knows how to turn a phrase in her contemporary romance novella RUN TO HER. Examples: "Thick black whiskers darkened his sturdy jaw, which made him look ferocioius in a hold-on-to-your-ovaries kind of way." "He smelled like crispy fries and pine forests, to of her new favorite things. If she could fuse those scents into a cologne, she'd call it Spud Stud..." "His square-jawed Slavic features made him look like he made of concrete and steel. Immovable." "Surprise rushed through her, hot and tingly." There are many more examples of Kellan's quick-witted phrasing in this delicious romance where a wounded hero and heroine come together and discover the healing power of falling in love.

It is always a pleasure to read a well written novel, and RUN TO HER by Lynn Kellan did not disappoint!
Ms. Kellan has written more than a boy meets girl, you know the rest right up until the HEA! She has written a story with heart, and hurt, and second chances. RUN TO HER feels incredibly real and was very hard to put down!
The realities of PTSD and it’s affects on those who suffer is not lost on me, as I’m all to familiar with those symptoms. Ms. Kellan handles it very honestly, without sensationalizing it.
I highly recommend RUN TO HER by Lynn Kellan and give it five steaming hot cups of Room With Books coffee!

Two people with haunting pasts find solace in each other. Sort of.
Leigh is on her own and finally doing well after leaving an abusive lover. She'd rather not start something new when she's still haunted by her past and unable to really trust men. Especially, men who are large and domineering. Men like Gabe.
Gabe has an itch that he can't scratch and that itch's name is Leigh. Ever since he found her on the side of the road with a flat tire, he keeps seeing her around town and in his mind. He thinks he could finally put her out of his head if he could convince her to spend some time with him of the intimate variety.
This review is a little hard to write because I found this story to be pretty lukewarm for me. While it had its really nice moments, it also had some that made me pause and wonder if I really wanted to root for this couple after all. The good outweighed the bad, but barely.
It was hard for me to really connect with either of our characters. Gabe was a blank slate for me because even though we see his feelings for Leigh manifest in his thoughts, his other personality traits are not very likable. He is brash and rude at times, completely ignoring Leigh and then surprised when she wants to leave him. Umm, really? You're shocked?
And Leigh wasn't an easy woman to read, either. At the beginning, she makes it very clear that she's trying hard to avoid Gabe and we really have no idea why. But she's determined to stay away from him and then suddenly decides to change her mind (also for no good reason). I liked her, overall, but she was a bit of a pushover in some ways.
This brings me to my final reservation of this story. The whole arc with Darlene was crazy. After the truth comes out, I couldn't understand why it had happened in the first place. Then when Gabe gets back at Darlene, I wondered why he did that. He was the one who took advantage of the situation more. It was confusing as hell.
The romance was the best part because it actually was written nicely. There were several hot moments and a few sweet ones. Our couple had good chemistry at the beginning, definitely. I thought the first few chapters were great, up until the first panic attack (of sorts) occurs. After that, it gets complicated and the romance takes a backseat to the manipulation and painful histories.
In closing...
The ending set up the next book of the series but I'm unsure if I want to continue. While this book wasn't bad, it also didn't make me itch for the next installment. Three suns!

This book was awesome! I can't believe it's only book one as I so want to know what's going to happen next. Leigh and Gabriel were well written characters that you just have to love. I have to say that the last few chapters were so my favorite.

Sweet and spicy smothered with cheese
This reminded me of an old school harlequin romance. Gabe and Leigh have a rocky start to their romance, thanks to her "friend" Darlene and her selfish machinations. Gabe & Leigh have both suffered trauma and over time learn to talk & heal with each other. Some characters felt more like caricatures and these cheese was a bit thick in places but Gabe & Leigh's story was good overall, so I'm giving this a 3.5 rounding up to 4 stars.

Decent story
I liked Gabe and Leigh's story. It was interesting to see them both share their pasts and work through them together. I did find the book to be slow and repetitive at times. I had to push myself to finish it as I was kind of bored by the end. The book does contain lots of typos and missing words, which was annoying.

I can usually tell that I like a book if the reading of it is quick, easy, and I want just one more page before I do something else. This book was like that for me. It was a cute romance that brings you along on their journey. I won't say that there were surprises, but it did keep me reading and enjoying.

This ended up being mostly ridiculous. The side characters were complete caricatures of "villains". The main couple really didn't engage me in any way. As the reader I felt like I was jumping into a book about 1/3 through when I started because it felt like so much of the plot was missing.

I really love this authors style of writing. This the second book I’ve read and am so glad to add her to my list of favored authors. This book just grabs you and you forget time.

Great book
This was my first time reading anything by Lynn Kellan and was pleasantly surprised by how well it was written. Can't wait to read all about the other two brothers!

This is the first book I have read by Lynn Kellan and I am sure it will not be the last. I enjoyed this book. I found this book to be well written and very much relatable. There were a couple of spots that may have gone into too much detail but for me it did not deter from the pleasure of reading this story. Now there was a point in this book that kind of threw me for a loop. When Leigh was explaining to Gabe what the doctor had found wrong with her hearing, I had to set my kindle down. (My mother had surgery for Acoustic Neuroma on February 22, 1993.) I look forward to the next book in this series. I Highly Recommend this read.

I am struggling to write a review as I try to summarise my overall impression into a nice paragraph. I think for me it came down to a feeling that the important parts were skipped over and the less important parts were covered in too much detail.

I received a free copy of the novel in a good reads giveaway for an honest review. I enjoyed reading is novel. It was a quick and easy read. The only complaint I have is I wish the book would have been longer with more character development. The storyline was good but again I would have enjoyed more development. Overall I enjoyed the book and would definitely read other books from this author and from the series.
