So... I don't know what to think about this one. It started out hot , but then it evolved rather quickly where the two mains were professing their love for each other. What's that all about? I thought Ethan was supposed to be super unattainable and the ultimate bad boy? No? Am I wrong? Because we sure as shootin' didn't see him being anything but tame, which was rather disappointing. If you're gonna set me up believing I'm about to embark on a "secret baby dark romance," I expect a little more dark and a little more secret baby. There was so much wrong with this story to me, that I just started skipping to the end. The sex? Sure, it was hot, but I kid you not, the MAJORITY of the book was them getting it on. I couldn't take it. I never warmed up to Brittney. I didn't like anything about her. I didn't like anything about Ethan. The only thing I liked about this book was when I finished reading it. Too much sex for me to believe anything between Ethan and Brittney was real. Maybe if I wasn't looking for a romance to make me weep I would have liked this pornography-induced book. Maybe in the right mood I would have liked it, but it's just not likely. Nothing redeeming about this book, at all.
Oh, and the whole interacting with the reader thing? NO. JUST NO. I hated it. Instead of making me feel involved, I felt like it detracted from the story and constantly took me in and out - it made me lose focus too many times. I'm all for saying things like, "You didn't expect that did you?" or something to that nature. But don't actually address the reader as a living, breathing person. All the huns and babes and shit drove me bananas. I couldn't take it. Talk about cringe worthy. I liked the idea, Alexis Angel, but it was poorly executed and wildly missed the mark. And the second epilogue? GAG. I just couldn't take this book seriously. Never again.
