Inicialmente ela desejava ficar o mais longe o possível de problemas; contudo, o coração de um homem é como uma agulha no oceano – impossível de procurar, impossível de entender.

Inicialmente, começarei com o que boa parte das pessoas colocaria no final, que é a adaptação do livro para um drama. Veja como é a sinopse:

Quando o reino dela é destruído, uma jovem princesa assume a identidade da filha de um professor para ensinar aos conquistadores do reino dela uma importante lição de vingança.

E só para constar, não é professor, e sim primeiro ministro…
Agora compare com a sinopse do livro. Ambos possuem sim a temática de vingança, mas as histórias são diferentes. Caso não saiba, há uma censura na China na televisão a respeito de viagem ao tempo e transmigração. Só que ao contrário de ser uma piada, essa censura existe por um motivo triste: pessoas se suicidam na esperando de viajarem no tempo e transmigrarem. Esses são assuntos frequentes na literatura moderna de lá, na qual não se aplica a mesma censura, mais do que vampiros no boom da série Crepúsculo. Chuto que quase a metade dos livros produzidos para o público jovem envolva isso. O problema é que a história sempre começa com o protagonista se matando… Para terem uma ideia, foi feito um estudo científico sobre isso, no qual constou que em um público de 400 universitários, 212 acreditam que séries de TV com esse tema tem embasamento científico e 104 acreditam que pode acontecer na vida real.
Cada país tem seus problemas, não é…
Pois devido a popularidade do livro A princesa Weiyoung, fizeram uma adaptação para a TV, assim como fizeram com diversos livros famosos. E assim como esses livros que possuem viagem ao tempo (transmigração nesse caso), tiveram que adaptar o roteiro. E a adaptação foi grande. GRANDE. ENORME. Não mudaram uma coisa ou outra para que a história passasse pela censura, criam um roteiro novo. O que você vai encontrar na série são personagens com o mesmo nome, ou ainda que foram baseados em personagens do livro e histórias parecidas, algumas passagens e só.
Para você ter uma ideia, o par romântico de Li Weiyoung é diferente do livro. O personagem que ela se apaixona no drama nem existe no livro, só há alguém semelhante a ele.
E considerando a história e motivação de Weiyoung, é claro que são completamente diferentes. Não vou dizer que o drama é ruim, ainda mais porque não terminei de assistir porque como comecei a ler o livro primeiro, não conseguia desvincular uma com a outra. Se você procura um romance bonitinho com protagonistas não burros, recomendo assistir o drama.
Agora, se quiser sentir satisfação em ver pessoas que merecem se ferrar, se ferrarem, leia o livro!
Eu recomendo com sinceridade que quem assistiu o drama leia o livro depois. Você vai ver que não é a mesma coisa.
Agora sim vou falar do livro! Até agora usei Weiyong já que é assim que está no DramaFever, mas a partir de agora usarei Wei Yang, que é como está nas traduções do livro.
Wei Yang não é uma princesa, é uma imperatriz. Por um capítulo, o primeiro. E morre nele da pior forma possível. Basicamente, foi traída e usada por todos ao seu redor que sequer a consideravam como um ser humano.
Wei Yang não passava de uma artimanha de seu pai para colocar sua filha mais velha, Changle, como a futura imperatriz. A protagonista era a filha shu (filha de uma concubina, considerada como inferiora), que ainda por cima nasceu em novembro, o que era considerado como um mal preságio. Seu pai forçou o seu casamento com o príncipe Tuoba Zhen, que possuía menor status, mas o mais ambicioso. O objetivo de seu pai era humilhar Tuoba Zhen por negar dar a sua filha di (filha da esposa) Changle, por quem ele era apaixonado e casar com uma esposa ruim, e nisso aumentar ainda mais a sua vontade se subir ao trono. Wei Yang quando casada ajudou o seu marido de todas as formas possíveis e desonestas e terminou com a pior forma possível quando conseguiu se tornar imperatriz. Ao mesmo tempo, Changle ficou longe de todas as disputas e continuou com a fama de virtuosa e entra no harem como concubina. Tuoba Zhen culpa o aborto de Changle na irmã e a abole como imperatriz e faz a vida dela um inferno por anos, até que a manda matar.
Só que a vida de vez em quando é justa e Wei Yang depois de morrer acorda no meio de sua adolescência, período no qual era mantida fora da casa da família e maltratada por seus cuidadores. Antes dela era uma menina ingênua que acreditava na bondade dos membros de sua família, na fidelidade do marido, mas agora ela não só sabe como eles realmente eram, mas também tem conhecimentos do que irá acontecer.

خبببب این یکی از محشر ترین و قشنگ ترین و خفن ترینای امسال بود برام!!واقعا شخصیت اصلی یعنی وی یانگ و تحسین میکنم!با اینکه یه دختر تنها بود به تنهایی و فقط با هوش و ذکاوت خودش تونست خودش و به هر مرتبه ای که میخواست برسونه!و اما توباجون که نقش اصلی مرد بود:/من خیلی دوسش داشتم واقعا کیوت بود،اما خب از اونجایی که من همیشه سندروم نقش دوم هم میگیرم😂🤦🏻‍♀️، از توبایو هم که نقش دوم مرد بود خوشم اومد😀خیلییی تو زندگیش زجر کشید و شاید هم واسه همین....در کل واقعا رمان بی نظریه اگرچه باید بگم که سریال این کتاب هم موجوده و اسمشم همینه ولی زمین تا آسمون با هم فرق دارن! این کتاب خیلییی دارک تر و بی رحمانه تر نوشته شده و سبکش واقعا خشنه!!!اما سریالش برعکسه لطیف تره و اینکه کلا نقش اصلی مرد اینجا یه جوره، ولی اونجا اصن🤐🚶🏻‍♀️...
خلاصه کهههه عالی بود،دم نویسنده گرم...که البته از رمان های چینی کم تر از اینم انتظار نمیره که شاهکار باشن🥺😈💙

There's no way to review this book because it hasn't been professionally translated from the original Chinese. The people who translate it do a good job but they likely don't have permission to do so AND the translations leave much to be desired. For example saying Da Furen instead of Head Wife or xiaojie instead of Young Lady or Little Miss etc. It actually makes for a needlessly confusing read.
Also the book linked on Amazon is not this book but some other random selection.

It's unfortunate that this is another plagiarized novel, otherwise I'd give this a good rating. The author stole 285 of the 294 chapters in this book from other Chinese novels.

Le quería dar más porque realmente me había atrapado, pero de repente todo se volvió tan repetitivo y predecible, que en serio me aburrió y déjenme decirles que la pareja no vale la pena, había una mejor opción, pero no sé porque la autora se fue por ese rumbo, que bueno, fue bastante raro. Además hace poco me enteré que la autora incluso fue a juicio por plagio, todo mal aquí. En fin 2.5 solo por los primeros volúmenes.

about this book....it's really a long story, full of revenge..betrayal..n love between the FL n her admirers.lol. this story is good enough if what you seek is a revenge plot without so much blood.:)
she's smart n independent.in the end she choose the most suitable man for her. i think so.lol

I've been watching the television series in Chinese with English subtitles. I love the characters, the story, and the interesting views of a different time and place. The book would be wonderful to read, if I get a chance. I love the theme song by A-Lin, too.

This is actually the first palace drama I've ever read, and it's also the best one so far. I first read it when I was 11, and now I'm 19 :) I've literally read it hundreds of times. The most impressive thing is the psychological development of all the characters, which is extremely logical from start to finish, not just the main character. It's like every aspect of each character's life - their background, the problems they face, etc. - is meticulously built. This consistency is maintained throughout the long story, and I haven't found a single illogical point in any of the plotlines. Moreover, the main character's strategies are always very well thought out - like traps within traps, and I was completely surprised while reading.

P.S. A few years later, I found out that this book was sued for plagiarism, and it had copied from many other works. I was quite sad about this; I think the author copy-pasted most of the descriptive details (like clothes, accessories, scenery, etc.). Since the story is set in ancient China, each chapter has at least 50% description of such external elements, like characters wearing gold hairpins with phoenix patterns, drinking the finest Long Jing tea, etc. I think the author copied all these descriptions from other stories because sometimes the clothes are described like they're from the Northern and Southern dynasties, and other times the accessories are described like they're from the Qing dynasty :))) But I think when it comes to the psychological development of characters and the strategies, it's quite hard to plagiarize from many different works and still make it all fit together so smoothly, from start to finish!

P.S. One more thing, you should read this as a novel to fully appreciate all the details because, in my opinion, the manga has pretty bad art and doesn't capture all the character aspects. And the TV drama? It's absolute trash - it changes 90% of the story. I'd give it negative stars if I could!!!

Good. Really, really long but good (my guess is 500,000 words). I liked WY and her love interest was a nice surprise. This one dragged for a bit once we got a change of venue but it had an exciting ending and a sweet epilogue, hence the round up.




Safe Completely... The ML has been devoted to her since they were children.

It’s pretty intense. The intrigue is dark and intense and sad... just watch the TV show it’s lighter unless you’re looking for miserableness lol I am a firm believer is the “book is better” concept and in some ways it is... but it’s just too depressing despite how intriguing it was.

As you read, you slowly see the MC devolving into the monsters she went out to fight. The book became en exercise in how to write a more macabre torture scene ever few hundred pages. Truly an exploration of inhumanity and shock value.

4/5 stars! Definitely one of my favorite reincarnation-palace/political/social-intrigues chinese novel. It hasn't been completely translated though and it took me about 3 weeks to finish the whole thing listening to the audiobook while reading it raw. Such a challenge but the plot kept me going and there was never a dull moment. I loved WeiYang as an MC and I could hardly predict the schemes and the countless traps within traps--which is probably the selling point of the novel.

The villains! Empress Pei is by far one of my favorite villains. She is so complex and smart and completely focused on her goals! She was a fascinating character. I liked that the author gave each character some depth to them. Some more than others but I have no complaints. With the casts numbering to more than 50!

It's too bad the drama is so far from the original story. I love this novel so much, I've been re-listening to the audiobook at night trying to see if I missed anything. Chinese palace novels usually have so much underlying implications concealed in small glances and little quips that sometimes have 3 other hidden connotations.
