James, a virile Alpha Wolf Shifter, has always been the big man on campus, until getting busted for a wild party led to community service at the campus library. To a party animal like James, there was nothing worse than getting stuck in a nearly empty library of a Friday night. At least until he met Earnest.
Earnest is a sweet Omega Chipmunk Shifter with a big problem. He's about to go into his fertile cycle, and he needs access to a safe space. Accidentally leaving his I.D. at home means that he can't use the special Omega room, but James promises that he'll keep him safe in the office.
James has only dated women so far, but there's something about this Omega that's driving him crazy. Is it just lust, or is it something deeper?
This is a sweet, safe standalone MPREG novella with a handsome protective Alpha Wolf Shifter and an adorable Omega Chipmunk Shifter in need of a strong mate. There are no cliffhangers and a guaranteed happy ending.
This was so, so sweet! Everything was like a fairytale with lots of sex and zero angst. I think many will see the hard partying alpha James's turnaround as really unrealistic and super fast. I would be equally incredulous if I hadn't see a few actual cases where the right woman and an unplanned pregnancy didn't whip an aimless man right into shape (we still tease my brother about this!). Everything does happen really fast in the book but I tried to write it off as the usual "fated mates" thing fueling the love and relationship. As I said, everything works out over-the-top-happy so it's very much a feel good, fluffy read. I liked both Earnest and James and really enjoyed their flirty banter and general humor. The thing that held it back from getting a higher rating was the fact that, as such a short piece, it read a bit like a synopsis with a lot of showing instead of telling. A few editing errors cropped up and the paragraph length was prodigious at times, but otherwise the editing was fine. I think this is just the thing if you want a break from longer, more serious stories, just a big awww with a plenty of steam!
DNF at 73%. The blurb sounded good but the writing was on the awkward side and I couldn't get into the characters, mostly because James is a bit of an a** (he seemed more worried about money than Earnest) and the majority of the other Alphas are entitled ba*tards who treat their Omegas like crap.
Cavity-inducing sweetness. James is a spoiled alpha wolf shifter who is forced to work in the library as punishment. There he means Earnest, an omega chipmunk shifter. Then it's like his personality completely changes and he is the perfect mate. I did like them as a couple.
A little too "perfect" for me. Cute idea, insta-love, fates mates, steamy, & ultra cheesy.
Well, the book was cute, I'll give it that. The HEA was sweet and full-circle with lots of projecting strength and love into the future. It was also so very, very cheesy with larger "save the Omegas of the world" ideas that wrapped up the story. The bully Alphas were over the top bad and offensive. The taking on the college and the world view of Omega's rights and privileges was a bit overreaching for such a short story. The plot moved a little too quickly and the romance was heavily reliant on the mysticism of fated mates to cover all the background and inherent personality stuff not covered throughout the speedy courtship.
So the sweetness and happiness as well as James' caring nature and fierce protectiveness were the positive points making me round up from 2.5 stars and the ease with which the huge societal issues were tackled (not solved, mind you) were large enough reasons to keep me from owning the 3 star rating.
Short 88 pages, has some bloodshed but it’s sweet, hot and with family and society’s discrimination of Omegas and or gay hatred that will be set right with brains and threats and a HEA for these two shifters in their p.o.v. Omega shifters rather male or female get treated like third class citizens. Alphas are the a..holes of their community if they have omega mates, their are rough, ruthless and aggressive with everyone. James, werewolf alpha, 90 % straight, last semester on college, senior, and the party animal. Got into trouble and now he’s a library assistant. When he smells something pleasant and has a very long and harden response he’s surprised to find out it’s from a guy, that’s looking to hide from his heat.
Ernest, chipmunk omega, virgin, wants to study on Friday night but comes to the library and smells musk that brings his heat, now he must hid. Little did he know two hours of hiding, the gentleman James kept him safe will be his complete undoing.
Yes, it's typical A/B/O mpreg shifter fluff, but I really liked some of the world building here. There's more sensitivity about toxic masculinity and gender roles and human rights than I was expecting, in the best way. There's also some horrible editing (my absolute favorite has to be "it's wont be the..."), which is why this is only 3 stars and not anywhere close to rounding up. Still, I'm now looking into more by this author to add to Mount TBR.
BTW, neither of the guys on the cover seem right to me -- one should be much larger and the other a lot smaller, but honestly I'm not sure which is which character.
Earnest and James are fated mates so everything is pretty instantaneous in their relationship. There is no problem that James doesn't immediately overcome. He's the perfect alpha in every way. He sees his omega as an equal, he wants him to finish his degree and encourages him to pursue any dream. Being ultra rich gives him the leverage to make sure that all obstacles removed. If you want sweet, simple and a perfect HEA this story will provide it. Adult read
Rating: 3 stars. This was a cute book. Nothing spectacular, just a sweet romance about an alpha wolf and an omega chipmunk. This book like a lot of books in this genre could have used a good editor, but it wasn't anything that really took me out of the story. No real angst, it was just a bit of a fluff read. I recommend it if you want a short light read with no real major drama involved.
An Eye Opening Lesson ! A Wonderfully Cute Way to Learn!
This was a Fun book to read! Fast paced and never boring! Loved the rich and full characters. Love, sadness, fear, responsibility is all included to bring this story to life! I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did! Please leave a review, authors depend on the greatly!
Wolf's Sweet Chipmunk by Tara Harris is a short paranormal book, a good choice for shifter fans with limited reading time. Ms. Harris has provided us with an amusing story. James is an alpha wolf shifter and meets Earnest, an omega chipmunk while working at the library. Their story has drama, humor, lots of M/M sex and a little action. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
This was a very fun, sweet alpha/omega romance. There wasn't too much of a plot, but it was an enjoyable read about a cute couple who fell in love and found happiness in each other and their family.
Such a sweet unexpected find. I loved this and will mention it to anyone else who like this genre. I loved the couple so sweet. Earnest was just that so earnest and sweet I adored him.
I did not want it to end! I just loved Earnest and James so much! They were sooo sweet together! Deserved more than five stars. I don't usually rate books on Amazon, but I had to on this one! Thank you.
This was only my second story with the Omega storyline. I enjoyed the story itself. It had an interesting dynamic. Would definitely read another in the future.
Nothing outstanding about this besides an alpha that actually isn't a jerk and ME boss you obey and spread. Basically it's a cute story but not really remarkable.
