I enjoyed the first two books in this series so much I just had to read the final one right away! It did not disappoint! The story drew me in right from the beginning and once I got started, I just had to keep reading! This was my favorite book of the series and I LOVED the ending! I definitely recommend this entire series to all lovers of dystopian and fantasy novels! I am certainly interested in reading future books from this author!
Beth 259201 has enjoyed her new-found freedom. But, she wants FERTS destroyed and all Beth’s free. After a near death battle at the camp secrets 201 has tried to convey were brought to light. Now, with the help of the survivors she launches a quest back to FERTS.
Hudson’s third novel in the FERTS series, Alpha Field, brings 201’s life in full circle. The visions she has experienced help her fulfill her destiny. This action-packed thriller will have you on the edge of your seat as you turn page after page to follow the action.
The paranormal aspect of this series is not my cup of tea. It did not take away from the story or Hudson’s ability to craft a well written tale. I recommend the entire series.
I love dystopian fiction, especially when the main character is one to remember and I've read ALOT of dystopian books. This one stands out though. Not only is it dystopian at its best... Harsh, cruel, alien but familiar.. But it also pulls in seamlessly pagan beliefs. I'm an eclectic pagan, I follow the old ways and the path of the Goddesses and I honour my ancestors, when I started reading this trilogy I had no idea it would take me on a path through the wisdom of the female ancestry and the old ways. Pure genius to intertwine the old ways, with a dystopian future in an amazing fast paced, often dark story... My only negative is that the story ended...but, what an ending! Loved every word in this trilogy.
A brilliant conclusion to the FERTS series that sees battles on many fronts and the final revelations about its true face.
201 was an intriguing character, not only her fighting spirit and big heart but also her 'specialness' with otherworldly forces. There were other strong women, too, but 201 was the most compelling.
The world of FERTS was horrendous - control, power, cruelty, rape and murder, just a few ingredients...and though not every man was despicable, the majority in this story were.
A fast-paced, well-written and thought-provoking tale.
So thrilled to read the last in this series and I must say what a corker for the final. Beth 201 going back into FERTS to fight for freedom. Great details in the scenes and just gripping throughout . This author knows how to keep you gasping and hungry to turn each page, fantastic read
It annoyed me to have three separate installments. They were all very short and could have been combined into one. Enjoyed reading it. But three stars, because it annoyed me.
A satisfying conclusion to the series. I still felt like some of the characters actions weren't fully explained or given time to come to their decisions, but you could tell it was the way the story was going and it kept the pace up.
