Stunning!

History has a way of repeating itself. In this tapestry of a story, Nell, a recently divorced novelist, feels a strong connection, a pull if you will, to a property in disrepair in England. While working on a newly exposed wall, she stumbles upon a loose brick and finds a letter addressed to a woman named Cora by a man named Joshua dated in the 1800's. As more letters appear and Nell's curiosity is piqued, she begins to uncover a mystery of sorts and and a strong attraction to a historian named Reid who is helping to unravel the mystery of her new property.

Nell and Reid's fast courtship seems to mirror that of Joshua and Cora and fate brought the them together. As Nell and Reid piece together Joshua and Cora's connection there is one stunning revelation after another and their meeting is not chance but more about destiny and fulfilling a promise or sorts.

This was a story that was right up my alley. Time travel, paranormal and romance. I emulated the emotions of the characters as the story unfolded and seriously cried at times. This is a story that I am sure that I will reread over and over.

This was an enjoyable book. The paranormal aspect of this story was done well, and woven into the story nicely. The main characters were likable and well thought out. The romance was sweet and convincing. There were some slow parts and the dialogue a little stilted at times but nothing that detracted from the book itself. All in all a good book. 😊A recommended read for lovers of sweet romance.

I will say Colleen never disappoints and continues to amaze me. Another fantastic story that everyone should add to their bookshelf. This is an epic love story involving 2 not 1 couples. This is your next read you don’t want to miss.

Nell just doesn’t know what to do with herself now that she has a completely empty house with her kids moved out and ex-husband that has moved on. On a whim something spoke to her and told her to buy this estate in England. Now that she has this estate its time to fix it up. When she starts to fix it up she gets more than just an estate. Nell is also an author with a writer’s block who can’t seem to start her new novel and what she found at her estate she consults local historians who help her with her new book as well as the weird happenings that has taken place at the estate.

Reid is one of the historians helping Nell figuring out what she has found. He is stand offish at first but he does start opening up to her like no other.

This story is an epic love story for 2 couples and their journey to find each other and come back as well. Nothing will keep them apart.

Romance

This novel takes place in 1857 and 2017. Joshua and Cora are lovers whose marriage is denied by her father. Nell recently divorced sees a manor in England which draws her in and she immediately purchases it. While renovating she discovers letters Joshua has written to Cora. As more letters are revealed she wants to discover more about the two people. She enlists Reid a historian to help in her research. Reid and Nell are inexplicably drawn to one another. There is a mysterious entity that both can fleetingly see at the edge of her garden on occasion. The letters keep turning up even after she thinks she has them all. Eventually Nell writes back and receives a response. There is an element of the paranormal in this novel which Nell refuses to acknowledge. Both couple’s relationships seem to develop similarly. All characters in the book are interesting and well developed. At times the novel is very sad and at other times it is a true romance story. Overall the novel is well written and I look forward to reading more from this author.

Letters to Cora by Colleen Nye is a wonderful story that will have you mesmerized. It is a tale that brings the past and the present together. Nell is a writer, recently divorced, who lives in Manhattan, NY, USA who purchases a house in England. She begins renovations on the old manor. While repairing a wall outside, she finds an letter written 150 years ago or was it! Nell enlists Reid, a local historian, to help her determine the authenticity of the letter. What happens after that involves ghosts, a mystery, a love story and a wonderful story!

I received this book as part of a Quirky Blind Date with an author and I always review every book that I read. I highly recommend this one. It will keep you turning pages and it may even make you believe in ghosts! It is a well written plot and great characters.

What a great story! Newly divorced Nell buys property in England and works on restoring it. She comes across a letter to Cora from Joshua written in 1867. In her quest to discover Joshua and Cora's story, she makes new friends and meets Reid. They take the journey together to discover the story, and end up creating a journey of their own. This was such an interesting story! I really enjoyed reading it.

Intriguing storyline with a love story from long ago weaved into a love story of the present time, rich with family history. I did want to know more about the relationship between Nell and her own mother...was that relationship fraught due to the family history we learned in the story? That subplot made me think about how family history and decisions can affect future generations. Really enjoyed this book - a first paranormal romance book for me!

I really enjoyed this story! The first half was a little slow moving and seemed to drag a little bit but it was all good information and world/character building. The second half though, holy cow! I could not put it down. The connection between Joshua and Cora then Reid and Nell was something magical. The lineage and history of the families. Just wow. I highly recommend this read!

Fantastic!

I really identified with Nell at this stage of my life. Recently widowed with a son who just graduated from college. I eagerly absorbed it in nine hours and am very happy with how captivated I was and how well it is written.

Love in other centuries, same family

Paranormal love story about two couples, connected by history & ancestry. So enjoyed how it all unfolded, why it happened as it did in the past, & the efforts to share their story, bring them together.

This book reads like a mashup between the movies Letters to Juliet and Under the Tuscan Sun. While the story isn't bad it is predictable. If you liked the movies mentioned above then you would probably enjoy this book.

Letters to Cora by Colleen Nye
I fell in love with this book. It was a tragic story of love and loss as well as loss and finding love for the main characters. I couldn't put the book down. The story was great. It was almost like a story in a story. You had the 2 main living characters starting a life together as well as the 2 main ghost characters trying to find each other so they could resting in peace together. The book is about: Recently becoming a empty nester and divorcee, American author Nell Price is looking for a vacation in England. While looking online she stumbles across an old mansion for sale and is drawn in. It's 3 AM and without really thinking she immediately calls the realtor. Two months later she signs the papers and owns the crumbling mansion. She starts right away on fixing the old place up and making it livable. One weekend she decides to work on the old rock wall on the property alone. While replacing the grout on the loose stones she runs across an antique letter from lovers Joseph to Cora. She doesn't think much about the letter at the time. The next day she is working on the wall again and behind the same stone she finds another. She thinks maybe she just missed it the day the day before. Until the 3rd day there is a 3rd letter. Now she knows there were no more letters behind that stone in the wall and she begins to be creeped out. She meets several people on her journey to figure out what is going on with these letters. One of the people she meets is Reid. Reid is a descendant of Joseph from the letters. He also turns out to be the love of her life. While Reid and Nell are starting their life together they are trying to figure out how to let Joseph to rest in peace. Then Cora appears to them as well now they must figure out how to break the curse and let them both rest in peace together.

Romance overload!

When I first read the blurb, I immediately know that I wanted to read this book. The heroine or more correctly put one of the heroines is a writer, therefore, I was curious how the author would make me (a writer ) excited about the story. I tried to guess various scenarios and got most of them wrong, and I love that.

At first, I couldn't care less about Nell and Reid. All I wanted was to read more of Joshua's letters to Cora. Somewhere along the way, however, I started to get hook with Nell's romance, maybe not as much as Cora but yeah...

A lot of heartbreaking situation was revealed especially with Clive (Joshua's son) but the drama in this book isn't tiresome.

I enjoyed reading this book and recommends it any paranormal readers.

***PS: I was given an ebook copy in exchange for an honest review
