I guess I'm one of the last survivors of the human race and I'm stranded on this hell of a desert alien planet. Sucks to be me.

Our ship crashed months ago and those of us left are struggling to survive the boiling heat in barbaric living conditions. The only reason we're not all dead is one of my friends got knocked up by a native alien and he lets us live in his ruined city. We should be grateful but a lot of the humans hate the dragons and the girls who mate with them. Fools.

The natives are huge, seven foot tall dragon-men with wings and tails and scales. Surly and overly protective, who needs that? Not me. Alien baby fever is the new in thing, but I'm not falling for the hype. I've always survived being alone and I don't need anyone to change that. Try telling that to Shidan, the most annoyingly persistent alien male around.

Thanks to the primitive nature of the destroyed planet we have no idea what's happening when things go wrong with my friend's pregnancy. I'm sure I can salvage something from our crashed ship that will help, but to get there I'll have to leave the city's protection and go out in the sweltering heat where everything wants to kill me. The only way I'll survive is if Shidan comes too and he's made it clear he wants only one thing. Love.

Dragon's Love is a full length scifi novel with a happily ever after ending, plenty of steam, bloody battles and alien-human intrigue. It is standalone and co-written by Miranda Martin and one of the hottest science fiction romance authors out there, Juno Wells.

DRAGON'S LOVE is BOOK 3 of the RED PLANET DRAGONS OF TAJSS. You do not have to read them all in order to understand the plot, but the story will be much richer if you do!

Wow I HATED this heroine! I mean I hated her the ENTIRE story! I can handle a tough broad. I can handle a bitch. But I need to see a softer side with her mate. Need to see a connection. Amara is just a raving BITCH who treats her mate like shit the entire book! She calls him names, hits him, yells and him, etc. I only read this so I could see what happens with the MCs from the fist book.

Also - the author irritated me in the very first chapter by writing inconsistencies. This first paragraph says they have been on the planet for 7 months. Later in the first chapter it says 11 months. How is this not caught by a proof reader? So lazy....,

frustrated heroine!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙💚❤️
Steam: 🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘
World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌎
Character development: 🤓😉☺️
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Amara - seven months ago she and her friends crash landed and ended up on a destroyed planet in a city that was once great but is now little more than ruins on a hot desert planet. Her job is as a mechanic, trying to get the cities power source back online. The conditions are terrible, and the machinery is outdated and moldy. She is crabby and frustrated most of the time. She was a pilot, not an engineer so doesn’t really know much about what she is doing.

The Hero: Shidan - He is a Zmaj, a seven-foot-tall dragon man with wings and a tail. He has been kind of following Amara around and keeping close to her. He is smaller than some of the other Zmaj but is still massive compared to Amara.

The Story: Amara is attracted to Shidan from the start but definitely doesn’t want any kind of relationship and for sure doesn’t want to get caught up in the alien baby fever that some of the other human women have gotten lately. Shidan showed up recently at the edges of the city with another Zmaj and they fought a battle over Amara. Shidan won the battle and the other one left the city. Shidan has stuck close to Amara ever since.

Amara is kind of crabby about her lot in life, especially at the start of this book, since she wanted to be a pilot since she was a girl and she fought hard to be the first woman pilot on her team. Though now that they have crashed on a desolate planet, there is no chance for her to pilot any spacecraft. Plus, it doesn’t help that she is attracted to Shidan but doesn’t want to be since she doesn’t want a relationship. Though Overall, the story wasn’t bad, and I liked how it ended.

This book was told in dual points of view via dual narration. It was narrated by Tristan James and Jillian Macie. I like Jillian’s voice and she does a terrific job in this book (and series). She does a lot of alien romance and is one of my favorites. Tristan has a nice voice though he isn’t one of my favorite male narrators. Overall, he does a fine job though.

Okay... I love this series! The idea is wonderful. The world is wonderful. The heroes are wonderful. This heroine is Bat Sh*t crazy! She is a total bitch. So much so that I can't finish this book.

There is absolutely nothing appealing about her. Nothing. She is just MEAN.

I don't care that she feels like she always has to prove that she is good enough because you know what? She's not good enough to be a heroine! I dislike her more than I dislike the human male who wants all of the aliens dead and off their own planet. I dislike her more than I dislike okra and that is a lot!

Sigh... and this makes me sad cause I want to know what happens w/Calista and Ladon. I want to know if her baby is okay and what it means for the other human women. But I probably won't read anymore of this series because the authors have totally ruined it for me.

If you love Bitch, unforgiving, nasty heroines...then this one is for you.

No!

This woman is a b!tch. She needs no one and she will tell you over and over. When our hero saves her she yells at him and hits him repeatedly. This is never okay! How would people feel if the hero hit her over and over? She has huge anger management problems, she flies into a rage and attacks him served times in the book. He repeatedly saves her life and is so sweet to her and she beats him. How is this okay? Because he is a big man and strong, it is okay to hit him? NO! This poor man deserves way better.

I could not stand this book. If I could have rated it without stars I would have. The female central character in this book had no redeeming qualities. No person is that bitchy, rude, abusive all the time like she is. There was nothing and I mean nothing to like about her. I ended up skipping over her parts and reading what was left over so I could see where the other characters were going and what they were doing. I absolutely hated this book.

OMG....
the Fu....
I really liked the series on the red planet but this part is awful!
The heroine is a real bitch time and time again... What a bust to read!
The story sucks as well with big stupid mistakes.
Like: they are being attacked by two slavers. Eventually they win and after their 'victory-hump' they leave the oasis again by foot... The slavers came on two 'speeder' mobiles.... they had guns.... but our hero's don't even think on taking that... WTF!!!
It is not supposed to be the way the reader has to scream to the book to take the stuff!

When they arrive at the ship..... well.... there are a lot of slavers and they do not kill them.... Sooooo stupid because they come back at them and will try to kill all of the survivors (humans) or sell them...
For Fu..' s sake; those slavers were the whole reason their ship crashed!!
I really don't think I want to read the next book 'cuz I was soooo disappointed with this one. I almost threw my e-reader against the wall.

OH MY GOD!!!!!!! I couldn't even tolerate to finish it.
I think the real hero is who could finish this book and handle Amara. She almost killed me and I hated her from the first book. I don't know why I read her story?
Amara is a BITCH, a disrespectful person and a horrible choice for this story.
I love this series but I'll stop reading the other books for a while because I want to forget Amara. (I hope so).

The most unlikable heroine I've read in years, literally no redeeming qualities. I actually pitied the poor alien that got stuck with her. And the cover was so random lol, if I had started with this book in the series I would have quit half way and never went back.. If you enjoyed the first 2 skip it, you won't miss anything

Miranda Martin and Juno Wells penned a classic Sci-fi tale. Loved every bit of it.

A large number of people left Earth 3 generations ago and planned to arrive at a terraformed planet in another 3 generations or so to begin life out among the stars. They didn't make it that far. Space pirates that specialized in all things evil destroyed their large space vessel and they crashed onto an unknown planet. It is the red planet of Tajss. The planet has two extremely hot suns and even the nights are hot. The planet is almost entirely sand. Sand as far as the eye can see, except for a domed destroyed city. The city is a remnant of the native populations highly technological past. A past that does not exist anymore. The natives are 7' dragon-shifters, who can breathe fire Nearly their entire population was destroyed. Few remain. There are few from Earth as well and all resources are extremely scarce. The Earth population has survived, barely, for a year now, but resources are becoming increasingly scarce. Their hosts, the Zimaj, are providing shelter and food for them. As there do not seem to be any other females, the Earth girls are highly desired. Several have mated with the Zimaj and two are in the late stages of pregnancy. The Zimaj males are highly protective of their mates.

Our two main characters for this novel are Amara, a former ace pilot, who could take apart and put her ship together, and did it frequently. As the only female pilot, she always felt the need to prove herself, even on Tajss among the Zimaj. The other main character is a Zimaj, Shidan. He follows her everywhere and is hoping that one day she will look upon him with favor.

Calista, the first to get pregnant is not fairing well and her mate is distraught. Mara, because she frequently took apart and rebuilt her plane, is the closest thing they have to an engineer. After a year, she finally has been able to get a small amount of power to the dome. It can cool a bit or provide some lighting, but at this point, not both. With the two women approaching their time to deliver, they need some way to see how the babies are developing in a human. They try several things, but determine the only possibility is to go back out to the ship and hopefully find an ultrasound machine and perhaps some other needed items. Mara and Shidan were selected for this week long mission. If it takes longer, they will perish.

Lots of side issues and arguments and those nasty space pirates are still around, as are the giant sand 'worms' - more like carnivorous snakes. Night flying flesh eaters, etc. There are are variety of poisonous plants and all manner of other hazards. A rip-roaring tale! Grab a book and hang on for the ride!

Someone should've slapped some sense into Amara.

I was so excited to find out that this book had been released. I really enjoyed the first two and couldn't wait to read this one. The Star Wars and Star Trek references were pretty funny, but other than that, this book felt too short and was just ok. Mostly because Amara is a major b*tch the entire time and I was left wondering why anyone would tolerate her as long as they did. Must've been the overwhelming heat of the planet and the fact that she's the closest thing they've got to an engineer. Seriously, it was purely physical attraction that drew Shidon to her, but I couldn't buy in to why he kept longing after her with the awful way she treated him. As the reader, we can see why she is the way she is, but no one in the book has access to Amara's thoughts. There are plenty of chances that she could've explained herself to people, especially to Shidon as he expresses confusion over her behavior. The ending was too rushed, I felt she needed to apologize for her nasty attitude and aggression - she slaps Shidon several times. (I know she has reasons for being the way she is, but that's no excuse to take it out on others). Shidon deserves way better than her, and without Amara explaining anything to him, it seemed like she only accepted him realizing that she can't raise a baby on her own. I will continue to read the series even though Amara needed a good b*tchslap to get her out of competition mode and into reality and survival. Glad her story is over, on to the next girl please.

I would definitely read this series in order, makes things much easier to grasp!

After their ship crashed on THE most inhospitable planet in the universe our intrepid human explorers are finally settling in with their new neighbours. With her friends baby on the way, Amara can see mushiness all around as her friends are mating with the dragon-like natives.

She was a damn good pilot but is now related to third rate engineer as she tries to cobble together human and alien tech to keep the formerly deserted city alive. She could do without Shidan constantly hovering. He is sin incarnate but she wants nothing to do with expanding the baby pool!!!.

Shidan felt the primal need to fight for Amara as soon as he met her, much to her annoyance! Since then he has made it his mission to look after her, even learning English in secret so that he can surprise her. But when the baby boom is rocked by a possible medical emergency, Amara and Shidan are sent to try and locate the necessary equipment from their crashed ship. Dodging pirates and fighting the effects of lethal flora and fauna makes this a daunting journey.

I'm loving this series and Shidan is an absolute doll but Amara was hard work to like. I get she has been wronged or passed over in the past because she was a woman but she came over as unrelentingly bitchy!

I voluntarily received a copy of this story and this is my honest review

Fantastic book

Enjoyed reading the third book of the series; that gets better as it goes on. It has action, passion, life and death situation that keeps you on your toes? Love when all the characters from previous books are there and get to read about their lives also. Highly recommended series and keep them coming.

It was aiight

I have to admit I really liked the character Shidan he was pretty funny he learned how to speak the common language humans knew in hopes of impressing Amara but it kind of back fired anyways but him knowing what they were saying and being able to play on that was pretty funny... like for instance one guy asked Amara what he said and she replied oh he said he is thinking about how tasty you Look and so naturally the guy looks at Shidan and he smiles showing his sharp teeth and spreads out his wings and flexes his huge muscles LoL but Amara she was a total biatch!! I didn't care for her at All! She was all hot and bothered for him one minute pushing him away the next all because her flight partner sacrificed himself to save her?? I know everyone has issues but that just seemed stupid to me. I'm not really sure if this author has ever co-wrote with this other sci-fi author I'm thinking of but these books are way to similar to the other authors work I'm gonna have to look into that... the other author wrote how humans crash landed on a planet and they're only able to survive by taking something it's like a parasite and it adapts them to be able to survive the environment which is pretty much the same as this except hers they have to take it kind of like a drug and they can have withdrawals because of it.... and that leads me to one other thing that bugs me how come none of the aliens experience the same issues as the humans I mean they had to take the epis in order to survive right and I thought after they took it they only had to take more ever month or so if this stuff changes your freaking DNA why would you have to keep taking it ugh I dunno I guess I'm way over thinking fiction LoL anyways I'm on to the next one for the heck of it

Talk about a lot of pressure, that is exactly what Amara is feeling. She was use to be a fighter pilot before the Generation ship she was on crashed, and a darn good one, but now she is the only survivor among the group and the rest of them think she’s also a mechanic. After a local alien found them and brought them to a deserted city they seem to think it’s her job to get everything up and running. Talk about pressure. She hates his place. Now there are four dragon men in the city, two of which are already made it to two of her friends. Not only that they are pregnant and they need help. She volunteered to go back to the portion of the ship they crashed in to retrieve anything she could that could help. Shidan, find himself in the deserted city with three of his kind. Their planet is in shambles after it was decimated all for the one thing everybody in the universe wanted. He has found himself attracted to Amara. He follows her, and puts up with everything she dishes out. Now they have to leave the dome city to get supplies. The planet is hell on earth for the humans, they are not built like the dragon men. They do not have wings and a tail that help them not sink in the sand. This is a really good book, the author did a great job with the language barrier, the description of the planet and the dangers around every corner. And of course there’s always going to be that group of humans that do not agree with what’s going on. I love the way Amara finally let her guard down, and the patients and admiration that Shidan had as he waited for her. I suggest reading these books in order, to know what’s going on and all the back stories, but they do each have a happily ever after for the couple the book is about.

Honestly these books you go into them knowing not to expect anything amazing but really this third book was so hard to get through!

Okay so another human female mates with a dragon like alien, this one was a pilot on their spaceship. She has flashbacks throughout the book of her time trying to be the only female pilot in a male dominated field.

She watched a human make get killed by flowers out in the desert and she was stupid enough that she barely made it out of there but then later in the book you would if thought she had learned her lesson but nope… she literally sticks her head near one and it chomps down on her & she has to get saved 🤦‍♀️

Then when they get back to her old ship to look for medical equipment the pirates who landed on the planet 2 months ago and had done nothing all of a sudden are there just minutes after they get on the ship so they have to hide. (Honestly it wouldn’t have taken the pirates 2 months to find the ship! & to get there at the same time without following then there and not knowing they were on board)

No sooner had the pirates come aboard and they said they have to hide, then they start ravaging each other (that’s definitely not a quiet activity) apparently they did this for days until they had basically run out of food & water and she wasn’t going to make it… then her alien attacks the pirates gets taken & she ends up saving the day. (She was 1/2 dead 🤦‍♀️)

Then they decided to just tie up and take the pirates stuff but keep them all alive, stupid yet again they would rape & kill her yet they decided to keep them alive to attack them another day.
Great idea!

And the racism it getting bad with the human men upset that human females are choosing to be with aliens. Oh and 3/3 the girls get pregnant right away.

Wanted to like it but no... I read this through KU. The 1st 2 books were really fascinating. But Amara as a character was my least favorite so I came into this, the 3rd book, with l I w expectations. It was worse than I feared.

The editing on this book is pretty bad. There are sentences with missing or rightly spelled wrong words that make reading this book a chore at times. The were at least two instances where it seemed like a wrong name was used because the name used there didn't make sense.

****SPOILERS****

The two main characters are awful. Amara is a horrid human being. She yells over others, pushing her willonto them; she refuses help even when it's absurdly stupid to do so because she is "strong" (I really hate this all too common trope - refusing help does not show strength it actually shows self-interest/ego and poor intellect); she says nasty things about others behind their backs; she gets mad over stupid things and is abusive (hits the guy who likes her); and, she gripes about being treated as an equal but actually puts herself above others by acting like a tyrant literally all the time. The only justification offered for her flaws was that the male pilots constantly embarrassed her and accused her of cheating or earning her position on her back (so to speak). She never apologizes or attempts to correct her behavior despite admitting to herself that it is wrong. That is not "being tough" or "strong." That is just being MEAN. Then she has sex and ZAP! she suddenly has a personality transplant. It is a terrible plot.

2 stars is generous.

Shidan, the male lead, is irritating because he does the same things over and over and is a total door mat. He stalks her, then apologizes for some perceived slight then gets hit then declares his undying love. I think readers are supposed to see him as this really great guy because he still loved her even when she hit him and said terrible things and ordered him around. Instead he looks stupid and weak because he allows his partner to treat him so poorly. The romance aspect of this story takes a big hit from this as well - how are readers supposed to believe in the fated mates idea when these two people are always at odds, to the point of abuse?

I'm really torn on this series because I like the dragons and all their devoted feralocity, but I really don't care for the human women. Amara was kind of awful to Shidan. She was blunt to the point of painful with her friends. She pushed anyone who tried to get close away. She loved her old life and kinda hates this new life and I REALLY don't see what she loved about the old life since she was treated terribly by most of the other pilots. I get that flying was a her dream, but THINGS HAPPEN and you darn well better adapt.

She's a walking hot mess and her own worst enemy, tbh. I mean, why in the name of PANCAKES would you stick your head into a giant flower on a world that you've already admitted throws deadly things at you around every turn? WHY?

Anywho. Amara admittedly rubbed me wrong. But I liked Shidan. As one of the younger of the dragons who survived the devastation, he doesn't have the experience of the before-time to help center him. He's SUPER easy-going (which I guess is needed considering who he matched with) and he's all about the protecting. Which isn't something Amara likes to admit to needing, so that's fun.

A few clashes, some sexy times, a generation ship that really needs to be stripped for parts ASAP, and the most deadly plants and animals a person has ever seen. Seriously. This planet will kill you. Especially if you're dumb enough to stick your head in a giant flower.

Amara was on a spaceship which has crashed onto a brutal desert planet occupied by hot alien dragon men. Thankfully one of her friends struck up a relationship with one of the aliens and that has meant that many more of the humans are able to survive. Amara was definitely on the bitchy, miserable and cranky side of things as she is determined not to get involved in the pairing up of the alien dragon men and human women which are now resulting in pregnancies. However, Shidan is one of the aliens who has decided that she is the one for him and is always there whenever she turns around. As things start to go wrong with the first pregnancy Amara is sure she can find something on the crashed ship to help with the course she just needs to leave the protection of the city to get it. The only way she will survive is if she has Shidan there for protection - the problem is he has made it clear to her that all his wants and needs are her love.

Dear me - Amara is just so whiny, miserable, and bitchy that I hated her for about 80% of the book. Twice I almost stopped reading it and give in but I am invested enough in the other women who needed the equipment that I carried on reading. I liked Shidan and felt incredibly sorry for him for most of the book. Easy to read and understand. Contains some explicit sexual content.

This one is definitely one of my favorites! Although I kind of really dislike Amara and her idiotic self-sufficiency at the cost of all sensibility. She was pretty obnoxious on the ship before the crash, but on the planet, she’s upped it to major douchebag level. Maybe she has layers, and the inner one is the one I’ll like I think but then, she’s so mean to Shidan ALL the time that she’s a lot to take in. Like, a lot. I mean, she’s stupid brave, but she also takes so many unnecessary chances and her insistence on being the one in charge just shows her hubris. There are so many near-death moments that keep you on the edge of your seat in this one that you never get bored or distracted. Death seems to stalk her though, and she just keeps on pushing him away. She keeps saying it, and I mostly agree that he does indeed deserve better. Shidan just wants to get her to love him back, so he keeps saving her and helping her, no matter how mean she is to him. Overall, it’s a compelling part of the series, and kept me riveted, despite my dislike of the female character.

Dragons Love

Amara is the ships pilot but she is now acting as a mechanic. She accidentally meets Shidan while outside the city looking for a conduit to try to get more electricity for the city and he was fighting another alien dragon over her. However, Shidan really falls for her and tries like hell to get her to like him. But it won't be easy because she has a chip on her shoulder and wants to keep all men away from her. However, she and Shidan are really the only ones who can get some of the things that they need for them and their friends in the city to survive. With some of the girls pregnant and Calista having her baby any time now they need to find medical supplies and run into the pirates. So now they have to fight for their own survival to get the supplies and themselves back to the city. Things are really getting exciting on the planet and the romance is in full swing. I can't stop reading the books. Definitely a great series.

Dramatic Sci-fi Romance

Amara is an island unto herself. A woman competing in a man's world, she believes that the only way she can protect herself and succeed is to be strong, hard and alone. Zmaj Shidon knows Amara is his greatest treasure, but she constantly rejects him with her mean words and actions. When thrust into dangerous situations, she begins to recognize that Shidon is different from the other men with whom she has had contact. Afraid to trust him with her heart, will she reach out to him or continue to push him away?

An action packed love story starring two determined people who don't understand each other. Mix in a pregnant human and her Zmaj mate, vicious pirates and a scheming opposition survivor and the authors have created a dramatic story which should please every sci-fi romance lover.

Sorry I have an obsession with details and logic in stories. Especially series. Glad the author explained some glaring ones.
Some illogical parts still remain. Like the reason they only packed a little of the plant that she needs instead of packing extra in case they ran into the pirates.
Or why they did not take the skimmer when they ran into the first pirates.
As to the couple, he was adorable and I loved how he courted her.
Not sure of racial makeup of humans but doubt it would be just white males sent. So I do not understand how even with the two thirds male population, the author chose the racism or in this case specism human angle. Could buy it if it was not for the fact most humans would choose the dragons as leaders since it is their planet, and they know how to survive and keep the humans alive.

Removed one star from my rating because Amara was just a nasty Bitch with a capital B. Being the only female pilot alongside men, she had to constantly prove herself and not show weakness that could be exploited, I get that. However, that did not excuse how she was always bitchy to her friends. She realized she was being awful, but never made an effort to apologize.

Don’t get me started on how awful she treated Shidan.

The little snippet of her past to explain why she didn’t trust anyone and didn’t want to show weakness was lackluster and explained nothing. It would have made more sense if someone she did trust betrayed her, but nope, it was because a rival pilot tampered with her flight. Like… hello?

Sweet and patient Shidan saved the book, and it was great to see Calista give birth safely.

I read this series specifically for this book, because this one stars a virgin hero. But, as is the case 70% of the time you wouldn’t know he was a virgin. He hangs it out like a pro, first time out of the gate.
I also did not enjoy the story as much as the other 2. I get tired of women who push the hero away for 1/2 the book fore dumb reasons. (He would be better off without me.) Meanwhile, the guy is doing everything they can to convince the girl that he is the one.

Not sure if i will come back to check on a 4th book.

Virgin rating:
Innocence of virgin hero: 4/5
Innocence in losing it: 1/5
Build up to losing it: 2/5
Hotness of losing it: 2/5
Busted touching himself: no
POV of losing it: female

I still love the world and overarching plot of the dragons of Tajss, but this one just didn't hit the same as the previous ones. I really liked the character of Shidan but my Lord he put up with so much bullshit treatment from Amara. You don't find out her issues from her past until near the end which made it hard for me to be forgiving to her. I saw a lot more typos in this as well which was distracting for me. However the twist at the end with the meaning of lyutik had me like YES why did I not see that coming?? It redeemed the story for me a little bit as his adoration for her and some of the monologues got to be too much for me (and I'm a huge sap) but they just came across too...fake and not genuine enough?
