Marley Fallon doesn't believe in attachments, not after her world was destroyed by those she trusted the most. She's put on a new face and is ready to bury the past. Nothing good can come from remembering the pain.
What she doesn't count on is Wyatt Hensley. The silent stranger manages to get under her skin in ways she can't explain.
Wyatt doesn't want anything to do with the mysterious new girl. He has bigger issues to worry about.
However, you can't fight what's right in front of you.
Wyatt and Marley find themselves sharing their deepest, darkest secrets. It's not long until they're immersed in the other's life and heart.
But as soon as they find each other, they also find that forever isn't as long as they think.
Abrianna Denae is a queer author living in Northern California. An English major, they have always had a passion for writing. Deciding to sit down and write one of the many stories that had plagued their mind for years was the easy part—finding the time to do it was a different story. Caffeine is their best friend, and sleep is their worst enemy. A lover of books that make the reader feel something, Abrianna tries to incorporate as much of their real-world views and feelings into their stories as they can.
When I read the blurb of this book I couldnt wait to read it. I was dying to know more about these two broken characters. Pagan/Marley has been through some hard times when she moves to her gran and grandads with her dad. She was totally broken she didn't know who she was and didn't actually want to know the person she used to be. The people she luvd the most have betrayed her and she didn't think she would ever be the same again. At 16 she was meant to be living life to the fullest but things never work that way.
Wyatt was going through a lot. Life kept through things at him but he tried to keep up as much as he can. His mum is a waste of space and is dad died so he has a lot lying on his shoulders. Wyatt is a strong boy but dealing with to much for a 17 year old just isnt fair but his family needed him.
Wyatt and Pagan tried to keep away from each other but seeing each other at school and work made it very hard. Wyatt couldn't keep is eyes of Pagan she was so beautiful but he could see the same sadness in her eyes that he had. They both couldn't get caught up in each other but they couldn't help falling for each other or getting closer than they should.
I enjoyed this book I did get a lil worried in parts of it. Pagan got a lil annoying in parts I understand what she was going through but her attitude was annoying. Her thinking of herself got tiring I just wanted to shake her. Wyatt is a great guy he has to deal with so much and his reason to stay away from Pagan u could understand. He needed to protect his self and his family but he couldn't help but want to protect Pagan as well I really did like his character so much.
I never read anything from this author. I enjoyed her writing and overall the story was good but the ending was a killer for me I didn't expect anything like that at the end. I was shocked totally and I m not go in to lie a lil annoyed I think both characters have been through enough but it as me dying to know what's going on so that's a good thing I suppose. I would recommend this book it kept attention without and Wyatt is a brilliant character I loved him.
I voluntarily received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
I did want to like this story. We have Marley (Pagan) whose gone to live with her filthy rich grandparents. But still would like to hold a job (she doesn't need it). There we are introduced to Wyatt, who has no friends. An alcoholic mother and he takes care of his sisters. Suddenly they are attracted to each other. There's this instant connection with them but I didn't feel it.
The writing style is a bit over descriptive. Everything seemed to be in real detail, when I like less detail. I'd rather use my imagination. This was a struggle to get through. This is the authors first book and I see potential. I didn't believe Marley's character at all. For someone who wants to make money for herself, accepts a super expensive new car from her grandpa ? Why not get like a Toyota?
The ending was a shocking one and didn't see it coming. But I'm really unsure if I'll attempt the second. I think overall it was ok and it could have been better. Though, I know this was not for me. I think many will love this story.
Sometimes YA works for me and sometimes it doesn't Then occasionally it borders the line of almost but not quit. I think this one is the latter. There are some aspects of this book that I thought were really good but others were not. The story over all was very sweet and had it's angst fueled moments. It was a nice balance.
Pagan was to immature for my liking. There was just something about her that rubbed me the wrong way. Wyatt was a different story. I liked him and he was actually my favorite part about this book.
The ending is still iffy for me. I'm not 100% sure whether I liked it or not. It's been a few days and I haven't made up my mind yet.
I think this author has a lot of potential and I can see her only getting better. I'm glad I checked this one out though. She will be on my watch list for future releases.
I read anywhere from three to five books per week. It isn’t often when the first page grabs my attention and makes me mutter, “Whoa!” under my breath. The first page of THIS book had this exact effect on me. When a debut author can elicit this kind of reaction from a seasoned reader, you brace yourself for a powerhouse of an emotional story. Forever IS that story.
After a double betrayal leaves them raw and reeling, Marley Fallon and her father move in with her grandparents to try and get on with their lives. Marley wants nothing more than to leave her old self behind, going so far as to alter her appearance in an attempt to make a fresh start at school. Even though she comes from a wealthy family, she interviews for a waitressing job at the local country club to keep busy and earn her own money. A coworker named Wyatt soon catches her eye.
Against the warnings of her new friends at school, Marley befriends the aloof and attractive young man. Their relationship gradually blossoms from mere friendship to feelings neither of them are ready to embrace in their current frames of mind. Marley still hasn’t recovered from what happened with her mother and ex, and Wyatt is too busy trying to raise his sisters to make time for anyone else. But their young hearts refuse to be ignored, especially when they both want the same things—loyalty, affection, and respect. What follows their acceptance of their feelings for one another is a realistic and beautiful love story that made me gasp, laugh, shake a fist in rage, wave an imaginary pompom, and cry in happiness, sadness, and anger.
The level of craftsmanship in the plot of this novel blew me away. Abrianna Denae handled the slow burn between Wyatt and Marley like a seasoned writer who has created similar scenarios in many other stories. I can’t remember the last time a gradual smolder felt so rewarding when it turned into an inferno. Many of the scenes set in the high school brought me right back to my teenage years. The dialogue and mannerisms of the characters were spot-on. Wyatt had a tendency to act older than his age, but it’s understandable once you learn about his background and home life. Also, I appreciate how the author didn’t have him and Marley segue into a physical relationship right away. It added credibility to how fragile their current states of minds were supposed to be.
Although I’m an avid reader, I won’t forget this story anytime soon. I’m confident that the talented Ms. Denae will continue to wow me with future novels. I look forward to reading each and every one of them, and I encourage you to give this new author a chance. I highly doubt you will regret it.
Pagan is lost and scared. She moved to a new town, new school, changed her look, changed her name. However she soon learned, you can't run from what's inside.
Wyatt has issues. His mother is an alcoholic, too consumed by her own addiction to be a mother to Wyatt and his two younger sisters. Wyatt assumes responsibility for his siblings and definitely does not have time for anyone else.
These two meet at work and a small recognition of each others realities draws them together. As they pass through their individual journeys, they become closer. Realising that maybe they don't have to go through this all alone.
This a beautiful story of two young lovers, but all is not rosy for these two. They have so many struggles along their path, that although they say they want to be together forever. Forever is a long time.
This is an awesome debut novel by Abrianna Denae. I am excited to see what comes next.
This book! Wow! For a new author i was blown away. It really pulls at your heart strings and sucks you in. Once i started i could not stop . I needed to know what the secrets were. I needed to know if the main characters were going to get together. They had so many issues on either side and sometimes you weren't quite sure how it was going to go. There were plenty of secrets. Ones i did not expect which i love in books! This author weaves such a compelling story. I don't want to say anything about the storyline because i have no wish to spoil it for anyone but it is a must read! I am eager to see where this goes. I need to know and i am very much looking forwards to reading more books by Author Abrianna Denae in the future!
This book is an intriguing story about a teenage girl named Marley. It drew me in from the very first page of the story. I wanted to know who Marley was and what made her this unique person she was determined on showing the new town she moved to.
The story has depth and grit. Many emotions ran through me as I learned more and more about who Marley is. Her emotionless trek through life came to a screeching halt when she met Wyatt.
"Wyatt Hensley might just become the best and worst thing that’s ever happened to me."
When she finds Wyatt, the story really turns down that twisty path of intrigue.
Thank you, Abrianna Denae, for sharing your debut novel. It takes a lot to put a story out there. Your debut with Forever shows us the potential you have for writing. I'm reviewing based off the storyline and content. Your mind has such depth for Marley. I'm intrigued for more. I know you will grow with each book. I'm thankful to have been part of reviewing your debut.
I recommend this novel to all readers who love YA romance.
Forever by Abrianna Denae is book 1 in the Destroyed By Love series. It's a YA contemporary romance with a twist and is the authors debut book.
Wow, this story was quite unique. We are taken on an emotional journey with our main characters Marley and Wyatt while they try to navigate their crumbling family structure, their vulnerabilities, their reluctant attraction to one another and how best to deal with their thoughts and feelings without getting hurt.
I loved the rawness that Abrianna gives her characters, especially Marley, Wyatt and a few of the others, deal with so much at such a young age and have had to mature and find themselves a lot earlier then most.
The emotions are strong and real and the progression of the book felt natural albeit awkward at times, but it was great to see these characters grow, become stronger, find themselves and become whoever it is they were meant to be.
Abrianna has a lot of potential to create amazing stories in the future.
I voluntarily reviewed this advanced reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way.
This is a new author and wow she blew me away! This story is really deep, heartbreaking, beautiful and so much more. Marley and Wyatt are both broken teenagers. Both are dealing with so much that they had to grow up so quickly. The connection between them both is raw and very soul biding. But the push and pull and being afraid will it destroy them both? I loved this story and can’t wait to find out what happens next. 5/5 strong stars
Hm after that ending, heck this entire book, I'm not sure what I feel about it just yet. However, definitely peeved at the ending. The author said in her ending notes that she didn't want a huge cliffhanger ending, yet leaves her readers with one.
The story of Marley and Wyatt reads like a Tijan Meyer book. Very young kids, with very adult problems. I think it's the money that makes them that way. Marley and Wyatt both come from very well to do families and fit under the "money doesn't buy happiness" umbrella. Big time.
"It may be sudden, it may not work in the end, but it's real."
Okay, these kids are sixteen and seventeen and are pretty deep thinkers, with very deep feelings for each other instantly. That's what I had the hardest time with having a sixteen year old son at home. I kept telling myself that these kids were getting away with what they do because of the money, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to finish. Marley uprooted her life, changed everything about herself and started over with her grandparents. New home, new school, new friends, the works. She was the rich b-word once upon a time and has decided to go a different way now. She's instantly interested in the quiet, reserved Wyatt and it turns out the feeling is mutual.
"It's hard to run from your past, to pretend that it doesn't exist. It's even harder when the thing you're running from is yourself."
Marley was running, however when it was finally revealed what she was running from, I was not impressed. It was overblown and too dramatic for her actions over the past few months. Now Wyatt, this kid had a crap hand dealt to him and I did admire what he was doing to keep his family together. At some point I decided that Marley wasn't good enough for him and waited for him to feel the same way. No luck there.
The book is well written, however felt immature. The ending was a real turn off and I don't know if I have it in me to see what in the world is going on there.
The characters in Forever felt a bit... cliche, but I mean, I still enjoyed them both, nonetheless, besides the fact I've heard 38 thousand "love stories" like Pagan and Wyatt. When Pagan moves to a new town and starts at a new school, she changes her name and her entire persona. Wyatt is forced into taking care of his two younger siblings, due to the fact that his mother is an alcoholic who has her life consumed by her addiction, unable to parent Wyatt and his siblings properly. After meeting at work one day, Pagan and Wyatt begin to relate and confide in one another, giving each of them a sense of purpose and it also helps them feel a million times less alone because now they have each other to lean on.
"Wyatt Hensley might just become the best and worst thing that's ever happened to me."
Pagan and Wyatt both have their own issues, for lack of a better word, that causes them to encounter some rough patches down the road. That being said, they are able to work out the kinks in their relationship due to the strong love they share that they believe will be neverending, hence the book being titled Forever. These two characters want to stay together forever.
I was pleasantly shocked by how just purely amazing this story is. For being a debut novel, I don't think Denae could have had a more powerful, impactful story for her first published work as an author. From the first page, I was reeled in and unable to put this down, from the first page. It is packed full of emotions, some good, some bad, but regardless, it makes you feel.
I will definitely be picking it up the second novel in this series on its release day as the ending had me shocked and I loved this one so much, I am very intrigued to see what else Denae has in story for the Destroyed by Love series!
I really enjoyed reading this book, I loved the characters- they were loveable and relatable. I loved seeing the chemistry grow between the two main characters and felt like I was riding an emotional roller coaster with them. Could not believe the ending, was not expecting that 😱 can’t wait for book two to find out what happens next
Marley and Wyatt both have stories you can sympathize with. They were two characters that I didn't struggle to like at all. Matter of fact I fell in love with them. This is one of those books you don't wanna miss out on! I got to the end of the book and kept swiping, hoping it wasn't over BUT this is one instance I will gladly ,maybe not patiently though, wait for book 2!
Too many emotions with this book! Happiness, sadness, anger and then surprise made this book a wonderful start to a new series. We all want a happy ending and poor Wyatt and Pagan are doing everything in their power to get that for themselves. Both have deep family issues but they try to help each other overcome them. I cannot wait for the book in the series! Congratulations, Abrianna, on wonderful, lovely story!
Title: Forever (Destroyed by Love #1) Author: Abrianna Denae Rating: 5 Stars Synopsis: Marley Fallon is broken. She's hiding from the person she used to be, trying to create a new life for herself after being betrayed by the people she trusted the most. She has no intention of getting attached to anyone new while she figures herself out. Until she meets Wyatt Hensley. Wyatt wants to keep his distance from the mysterious new girl. He has so much crap to deal with on his own, the last thing he needs is some pretty rich girl getting in his way with all of her pretty rich girl problems. The two find themselves inevitably drawn together despite their resistance. They share parts of themselves with each other that they have never wanted to share before. They find something in one another that they never imagined they could find. And then they find out that forever may not be as long as they think. Review: I loved this story! I'm a sucker for young couples in love and Marley and Wyatt ooze with fairytale ending potential from the very beginning......
First of, I am thankful I had easier teenage years. These two got dealt a wrong deal. They each have demons they are fighting. Wyatt is an old soul, thankfully with the responsibilities he has for a 17 year old. Marley had to learn the hard way that not everything is as it seems. Both find each other when they least suspect it, they both gain a friend when they need it, and they both find out what it means to care for someone. After years of feeling like they were just floating in limbo, they get this olive branch. Abrianna does a great job of expressing the feelings of both teenagers, of having them act and think like teenagers, and of not allowing them to run the world as adults but continually bringing up that they are learning.
This debut book will leave you begging for more of this series. This is an emotional story about Wyatt and Marley, both broken , yet tryibg to find some way to rebuild their lives together. The connection I felt with the characters in this story will push me thru any and all emotion to keep me interested throughout the journey that Abrianna Denae is taking the reader on. Even as a more YA feel with the characters in high school, this book's emotions and even the brokenness of the characters will keep any romance lover entertained through the story, as well as future stories abt all the characters the reader meets.
This is a debut novel from this author and what an introduction it is! Marley and Wyatt are both broken souls, who recognize in each other the burdens they each carry. There is an instant connection between these two as they try to rebuild their lives as best they can. This is an emotion and gripping storyline, which had me hooked and captivated from the very beginning. This talented author is one to definitely watch out for in the future, and I look forward to reading the 2nd book in this amazing series!
This is an emotional book about a broken girl who meets a broken boy! Life has ruined them and they think there is no coming back! Marley and Wyatts story is beautifully written! I fell for them and do not want to let them go!
This debut novel grabbed me from the beginning it has the perfect amount of drama, lust, and happiness. Wyatt and Marley have many ups and downs and l[ord knows they both have issues. It takes more for Marley to put her's behind her and she messes up some but Wyatt is strong and steady. That ending though was not expected!!!
Oh the angst! The utter turmoil, of a mixed up, damaged, broken couple of kids.
Wyatt and Marley are certainly dealing with a lot of things in their lives, they are very mature and matter of fact about how they see their relationship, it's heartbreaking to read how they are both so vulnerable and feel they have no hope of a loving future… until they meet. Neither of them feel ready to commit but their feelings are just too strong. They slowly mend each other and reveal secrets about their families to each other and seal their bond.
I just love how a book makes you feel the heart stopping moments of joy and the crushing feeling that this isn't going to end well. I felt like they both need to have a strong word given to them... by ME! Get a grip and open your eyes! Yeah, I shouted at my kindle, I'm not ashamed of that.
I can't wait to find out what happens next with Wyatt and Marley; that ending has my mind spinning. This is my first book by Abrianna Denae and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
This book is full of emotions and where to start. I was angry for both Marley and Wyatt and the shitty hand their were dealt. Marley dealing with a cheating mother, a dishonest boyfriend, a sisters betrayal and a fathers cowardice. Wyatt and having to deal with a drunk mother and trying to raise his two younger sisters. Then the happiness comes when Wyatt and Marley turn to each other for support and friendship and later love. We also experience heartbreak when we wonder what happened to the happiness.

It was a nice story ,the characters were a little whiny for me me but the overall was fantastic. But What the heck was with the ending? I read this angst story about a couple and at the end it didn't even matter,I mean come on how could it end that way with no explanation leading up to it.i wanted to see a happily ever after and I guess it did deliver but I was left with a lot of unanswered questions.
This book deserves more than 5 stars! I started it this morning at 5am and finished it at 11:30am. I could have easily read this in one sitting. There was so much depth and emotion in this story and from one page to the next, I had no idea what was going to happen. I loved both Marley and Wyatt, I have never read about characters who have such emotions in them. This is one of my top 10 reads for 2017 and I can't wait to see whats next.
I just... I'm not even sure what to say. What in the world just happened!? My jaw is still on the floor! Marley has had her whole life thrown up in the air and she's trying to reinvent herself. Wyatt is having to parent his 2 younger sisters because his mom is a drunk. Neither have any friends, but feel drawn to each other. Watching their story play out is fabulous! I need to know what happens... because that epilogue.. 😮
This story was fantastic. I do believe that some things were drawn out a little bit, and Marley is a bit dramatic about her past. She needed to learn to be strong instead of giving up. I'm so glad that Wyatt could be that strength for her. I LOVE Wyatt. I could not believe the ending and will anxiously be waiting for Never Forget!!
Wow!!!! What a debut novel. Marley and Wyatt yanked me into this story and refused to let go. I hate what they've had to endure, but it makes them stronger. I do however, want to grab the author and shake her silly. Can't wait for the next book. I voluntarily reviewed a copy via Quirky Blind Date with a Book.
