3.5 stars. This is definitely an OTT insta-love tale. Allister rescues Leah and knows she was meant to be his. While I liked the characters and possessive goodness well enough, the story started out a little rough for me as someone who hadn't read book one. Yes, the setting and premise are described, but it almost felt like a continuation of a story instead of one on its own. After the initial impression, it starts to fall together nicely. I won't say that the strength is in its plot because I didn't find it all that exciting, but the extra sweet stuff is definitely a big win. Not to mention the quite enthusiastic performance of virgins lol All in all it was a short, entertaining treat that is not meant to be taken too seriously.

This was an awesome second part to this series by Dani Wyatt. I enjoyed it almost as much as the first one.
This is Leah story, May sister from Book one, and Allister, Decker best friend and business partner.
If you recall from the first book Allister saved Leah from the evil Victor and Simon.
This book starts off from there.
We have the wedding for Decker and May who are now of course expecting their first child as well. They have their HEA which was sweet!
These two characters are just as awesome!
Allister is obsessed with Leah and making her happy. He thinks:
"I want all her smiles from now on. I want to teach her that her lips were intended to curve up, not down."
"I want to take care of Leah’s body and soul, not just her material possessions. I want to make sure she eats right, sleeps well, smiles and laughs. That she’s tucked in at night and has sweet dreams. I want her..."
So I think it's safe to say he is completely consumed by her!
And he would stop at nothing to make her his!
He was so sweet and funny. I laughed so hard when he was trying to convince her to come back to his house to keep her safe.
He tells her
"...Or there’s a spider in the bathroom and you need me to come with a flamethrower and kill the rat bastard. These are things I can do. A cell phone cannot. I’m better than a cell phone, you’ll have to trust me on that.”
But mostly this book was HOT and SWEET!
Come on now, who can say differently after hearing this statement by the hero,
“That’s my girl. Let me in. I love you, my sweet unicorn. I love you more than you could know.”
And her thoughts about him
"The fact that he’s never been with a woman before makes me swoon. And to know that he wants me? Well, perfect book boyfriend. And he’s real."
This book was just so sweet it almost gave me a tooth ache!
However, I couldn't give it 5 stars because of conflict resolution! It wasn't all tied up neatly at the end!
I'm kind of a vengeful botch when it comes to wrong doings from other characters. The fact that no one was arrested from the kidnapping or even sent to jail, JUST PISSED ME OFF!
Honestly, What's to stop them from doing it again!? She is still rich, right?
Are you guys all nuts to leave it like this!?
It is still considered a crime to kidnap another human being and try to extort money from them, isn't it?
So, why leave this open!?
Send the F*ckers to jail or are you waiting for something really bad to happen to your UNICORN!
THIS PART OF THE STORY JUST FAILED FOR ME!
And Until that moment, I was all set to give it another 5 stars.
Sadly, it was close but no cigar moment!
Still enjoyed it and I would recommend it but I'm not keeping this one.

Okay, so I don't really buy into the whole 30 something hero being a virgin. Leah, I could "sort of" understand given her history and being kept basically locked away for years but I just didn't believe it or feel it with Allister. However, that aside, Allister was a pretty good hero. He was sweet and caring and had that "mine" mentality I love. And who doesn't like a guy who comes in his pants while eating his girl out?
But once this hit the whole "suspense" part, it sort of went down hill for me. I mean seriously, Nah....doesn't work for me. And I'm sorry, May was just as immature as she was in the first book. I was glad to see Leah was a little better.
So, it was just "okay" in my book...oh well...

This is book 2 in this series and we get their story!!
I was bummed we didn't get them really interacting in the last book only mentioned he found her bound in the basement tied to her wheelchair.. i wish it was shown!! Cuz I'm a sucker for knights lol
But we start off with May and Decker getting married and enjoying their honeymoon and Allister abit glued to Leah when he's with her to drop her off back home.. and i have to day she was alittle bitchy at him for being a gentleman i get it she doesn't trust very easily. And she doesn't want sympathy since she has braces on her legs from the accident... she can sorta stand on her legs and walk with crutches.. but she ends up tired more.
But she apologizes for being rude and spends some time with him.. and loves every moment.. even with the annoying staff who always try to tell her what to do.. like seriously.. i didn't like those ppls..
I am a sucker that they are both virgins i dont care if he is 30 i can respect that.. just from what he said my hearttt!!!
“I wanted it to mean something when I lost my virginity. I’m not a ‘new girl every night’ kind of guy, I want one girl. One. And honestly, no one really held my interest until now. Until you. And then it all hit me at once.”

November 25, 2023It just didn't pull me in. I felt disconnected with the characters, and for the most part, the plot seemed dragging, at least for me. Also, even though this is a standalone, I think there will be a gap if readers don't go through the first book. I guess both stories should be read in order. 🤷♀️

This is the second book in the Forever Collection by Dani Wyatt. This book is about May's (from Where She Belongs) older sister, Leah and Decker's best friend/business partner, Allister. When Leah was tied to a chair being held captive in her own basement the first person she saw when she was rescued was Allister Marshall. She's always protected her younger sister, May ever since their parents died but now May is married to Decker so she doesn't need her anymore. Allister has felt extremely protective of Leah ever since he found her helpless tied to a chair. He has waited all these years to give himself to a woman and he knows Leah will be his forever. Now he just has to convince her stubborn ass that they're meant for each other.

After reading Where She Belongs, When She's Mine was the next book .. This is the story or Leah (May's sister who we see in book 1) and Allistair (Deck's best friend, who we see in the first book as well) ... the little glimpses of Allistair in the first book were enough to drive my curiosity to pick this up and needless to say, I did :D The glimpses of Deck and May were good to :) Like the first book, this one was a quick, short, sweet and steamy read ... with a bit of drama that starts in the first book and ends in this one.

This book was so good! I loved Allister and loved how patient and caring he was with Leah.
This book is basically about Leah and how she is adjusting after what happened to her and her sister. And also about her trusting people and believing that she is worthy of being loved and being taken care of.
Allister was just the man to make her believe in herself and just the person to love her and take care of.
Awesome story, loved it and loved the characters!

As a pet name? Or just period, in general. 🤮🤮 No thanks. 3 stars.

What, that was so dumb!
The whole Victor, Wilson thing was so unnecessary. It added, what 20 pages to the story?
It detracted so much from the story that it ruined it and made me frustrated to the point that it colored everything, blahhh!

It started great. It ended with a flop.
The whole Victor, Wilson thing was so unnecessary. It added, what 20 pages to the story?
It detracted so much from the story that it ruined it and made me frustrated to the point that it colored everything, blahhh!

Allister Marshall tried to be patient in his desire for Leah Morgan but Leah has no clue that he is attracted to her. Leah has had a rough life with a car crash that left her injured and doesn't see how anyone would want her. Allister makes his move but has a secret of his own that he only wants to share with Leah, will she trust him enough to give a life together a chance.
This was good but I felt it was rushed in spots and there were some details left out a bit. Interesting idea, I liked Leah but she had such a chip on her shoulder initially it took awhile to warm to her.

Allister and Leah's story starts with a bang and the roller coaster doesn't seem to have an end in sight! These poor girls have had a rough life and no one deserves peace and love more than them. It's a good thing the men in their lives know this and do everything in their power to make that happen. This series is a must read so get to It! Mature eyes only due hot 🔥 loving!!!

Alors que le premier tome de la série ne m’avait pas tant convaincue que cela avec certains défauts qui auraient pu être évités, j’attendais la suite avec impatience puisqu’elle est sur le couple qui m’intrigue depuis le début : Allister et Leah. Deux personnages importants jusqu’à présent mais qui avaient gardé leur part de mystère. Mais que cela ne tienne, When She’s Mine est là et on a enfin les réponses à toutes nos questions !
Allister, tout comme son meilleur ami, est clairement différent des autres hommes puisqu’il a décidé de rester vierge jusqu’au jour il trouvera l’élue. C’est digne d’un comble puisqu’il est le patron de boîtes de striptease, mais soit ! Du coup, lorsqu’il pose ses yeux sur Leah, il sait que l’attente est finie, qu’il est temps de rattraper le temps perdu et de profiter de ses dons naturels pour le sexe. Sans blaguer, (bien que tout ce que je vienne de dire est vrai) Allister est un homme complexe qui m’intrigue depuis le début. Il est très intense et loyal au point de se sacrifier pour ceux qu’il aime, pile poil ce qu’il faut pour la belle et douce Leah.
Leah est la soeur de May qui était présente dans l’accident de voiture qui a coûté la vie de leurs parents des années plus tôt. Résultat, ses jambes ont été brisées et elle ne peut pas marcher sans le matériel adéquate, quand elle n’est pas obligée d’être en siège roulant. Elle a énormément de complexe de ce point de vue et son attachement à sa petite sœur rend difficile toute relation avec un homme, mais cela est loin d’arrêter son sauveur, le très sexy Allister. Peu à peu elle va s’ouvrir à l’homme, se dévoiler être légère et une véritable chatte en chaleur lorsqu’il s’agit de son homme. Mais elle doit pouvoir surmonter son manque de confiance envers presque tout le monde, afin d’être enfin heureuse et épanouie.
Leur romance est donc assez étrange et compliquée à la fois. Ils cachent aux personnes qui leur sont le plus chers, le fait qu’ils sont ensemble. Allister n’a pas tout dit à Leah, ce qui la pousse à douter de lui alors qu’elle cherche à avoir confiance en lui. Et quand au niveau sexuel, c’est la découverte des deux côtés, une découverte qui a des conséquences assez intéressantes il faut l’avouer. Malgré tout, on sent bien qu’Allister est sérieux et que Leah fait de son mieux afin de vivre sa vie au grand jour. Et c’est là bien entendu que l’auteure nous sort des trucs un peu tordus dans l’intrigue (qu’on voit venir pour certains d’entre eux) et qui pimentent cette histoire d’amour qui serait toute simple sans cela.
Pour ce qui est de la rapidité et du caractère des personnages, c’est du Dani Wyatt à 100%, on reconnait sa patte. Pourtant j’ai apprécié le fait qu’elle ait pris en compte les remarques qui lui avaient été faite pour le premier tome de la série et du coup on se retrouve avec quelque chose d’une meilleure qualité et surtout plus logique. Du coup, j’ai apprécié cette lecture, mais je me demande bien ce qu’elle va nous pondre pour la suite… Je ne vois absolument pas sur qui elle va lancer son dévolu pour la suite, si suite il y a !
