Not every monster has claws — not every beauty is kind.
Born a princess, raised to be queen, but living as a servant, Avalyn never realized she would pay the price for her father’s mistakes. Now Avalyn is living in a castle not her own, a slave to an evil witch who wants revenge on the man who betrayed her trust and ruined her.
For Avalyn, her real punishment has yet to begin.
She will be cursed to work for the witch for the next one hundred years unless true love can find its way into the castle and into her heart.
Now the princess’s freedom rests in the hands of a lowly thief who cares only for himself.

I had a hard time, at first, getting into this story. Once I did, I didn't want to put it down. I felt like the characters took the right amount of time getting to know each other, and the cute love story didn't feel rushed. I love how the main character learns to correct flaws, with the witch's help, and that of her friends, and truly learns more about herself, and how to rule a kingdom honorably. I look forward to reading more from this author.
I received a copy of Beauty's Thief by Konstanz Silverbow in exchange for an honest review. Note: this review contains spoilers! Years ago an assassin took some things from a wicked witch. He tried to make good on the things that he had stolen. But the girl he took, who begged him to take her, how do you make good on that? Especially when the witch believes the daughter was kidnapped? For all of these years, the witch has been plotting her revenge, and finally she has it. She kidnaps the daughter of the once upon a time assassin, strips her of magic, and turns her into a slave in the witch's broken down castle. Princess Avalyn isn't an ordinary princess though. She has always worked hard, often with much complaining, but she knows how to fight and strategize and doesn't have the soft smooth hands of others. So she plots and plans and doesn't show her full strength and then she makes a bargain with the witch. If Avalyn can fall in love with someone and have that someone fall in love with her before a magical candle burns out, then she will be set free. This is the real story. Will the self-centered princess learn to love or will she be too caught up in her own story? Will anyone around her be able to see the real woman behind the princess and be to fall in love with her or she only be a princess to them? And what of the witch? If she learns about the truth of her daughter, will she change? Will she be able to find redemption? Read Beauty's Thief to find out!

This is book four from the Finding Gold Series which starting out with Missing Royal. Each book gives a bit more of the story and the chance to find the missing princess. In this one i feel the story was a bit of one those here a lesson we all need to learn. How to work hard, see the best in people, love can not be forced. It a unique story that wraps you up in what gonna happen and that people may not always be what we see them as. Yes the witch is seeking out revenge for the loss of her daughter but she chooses to have servants and though she threatens to kill them at sundown if chores are not completed you really don't fill like she wants to carry out those threats. It a fast quick read and thoroughly enjoyed it.
