Date with a Ghost review. This is a really good story. It had everything, ghosts, mystery, murder and live men for a spark of romance. I really felt like I knew the characters, they were like old friends. And the villain, well not to speak bad things about the person, but they got what they deserved. The only thing it was missing was … Oh, nothing!!! I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys mysteries.

Winter snow

A real page-turner of a murder mystery, this book is full of adventure. Well rounded characters, pets with personality, and killers bearing a grudge, all combine for a riveting read. All the clues don't seem to add up..or do they? Another winner from Angela Pepper!

Nice combination

This is a nice combination of full stories. I really enjoyed reading about all the witch stories. The last one that was a bonus was my favorite. I ordered book 2 of that one.

I think Angela Pepper is going to be one of my favorites.

Five books in one set.
I was a little confused about the page count for this set knowing that Angela Pepper books are typically fairly quick reads. Turns out there are the 3 Restless Spirit books, plus two bonus books (1st Wisteria Witches and 1st Stormy Day).
Book 1: Interview with a Ghost - I would give this 4 stars by itself. I really liked Piper Chen and wouldn't have minded the whole set to revolve around her.
Book 2: Date with a Ghost - 2.5 - 3 stars. Story line was okay, but I found some parts of the "reveal" to be confusing and not explained as well as it could have been.
Book 3: Dancing with a Ghost - 3 stars.
Bonus Books:
Wisteria Witches - 3 stars. I found the main character, Zara Riddle, to be an annoying rambler, which kinda put me off this first book. I'm glad I tried the second in the series though because each book gets better and better.
Death of a Dapper Snowman (Stormy Day #1) - 4 stars. This was a great start to a really good series.

Ghosts Are People, Too!

Three of author Angela Pepper's ghost stories are bundled here and with (or without) Marie Hoffman's deft narration you will enjoy many happy hours.
----
Interview with a Ghost in Arizona--Piper and the Lion

Imagine yourself invited to visit your absolutely favorite author. When you knock on the door--it opens. But there are no lights on. Whassup, you are asking yourself as you stand in the dark hallway. And then, suddenly, someone rushes past you and shoves you down. And then? And then? A delightful whodunnit with a number of surprising twists even as the suspects are all gathered together (traditional!) . . . in an airplane (not so usual) . . . for the final denouement.

All of this is delightfully performed by narrator Marie Hoffman who perfectly pipes Piper and covers a variety of other voices with panache.
----
Date with a Ghost in Colorado--Love Beyond the Grave

My previous experience with Ms Pepper's books has been with light and funny tales (murder notwithstanding). This one caught me by surprise as there is a more serious presentation--although still plenty of humor. Marie Hoffman does a terrific job voicing the various characters as she spins the story along, pulling one ever deeper into Samantha's mind and the events around her. Very enjoyable!
----
Dancing with a Ghost--Artful Dodging

Katie is haunted by her missing roommate. Or IS she her missing roommate? Author Angela Pepper's devious plots and wry humor are in evidence, but even at the end Katie herself remains a mystery despite solving the . . . mystery. Nicely narrated by Marie Hoffman.

This is my review of the audio version as posted on Audible:

NOTE: This is my review for "Interview with a Ghost" only; I'll edit and add my review for the other 2 books in the set when I finish listening to them:)

What would you do if you went to invite your favourite writer to a party and found him dead? And what if his ghost then followed you around, obviously wishing you to find his killer? That's the dilemma Piper has to deal with in this delightfully funny, humorous, entertainig "ghostly" cozy mystery:)

The plot is really fast, with Piper and George making a wonderful couple of friends (beyond the grave:)) and private sleuths who get Piper into a few corners before she finally discovers the truth. There are quite a few suspects, all with plausible motifs to kill, quite a few good twists in the investigation... and there's the friend, the dog and the possible future boyfriend:) The last three bring in so much fun to the story that I laughed here and there, following their antics:)
The best recommendation for the book, though? It kept me listening in one go till very late at night (or rather early morning, I should say - it's a good thing it's Saturday today and I could sleep till noon:))

Ms Hoffman is a new narrator for me, so I had no particular expectations, and I'm glad to say that I liked her interpretation of the book a lot. She reads at a good pace, does voices really well, both male and female, and makes the story come to life wonderfully :)

Disclaimer.
I had requested and received audible version of this book for free from the author, in exchange for an unbiased review.

What I liked about the book -
I had already read the previous two books of this series and loved their easy-going narration. Both of those books were entertainers. So, when I received this boxed set of the series, I was elated. I listened to the first two books in fast forward mode - a quick "previously on..", if you will. And then I dived into the third installment.

I love how the books keep getting better with each installment. The first book was alright. The second one is more endearing. And the third one is the best of the lot. The characters are fun and keep you entertained. Each of the book has an interesting story to tell, which don't over-tax your brain. The stories are easy to follow, comfortably paced and interesting. You can listen to them at your own pace. Read each book in one sitting or take breaks in between - they will still be equally entertaining. No pressure.

What I disliked about the book -
Nothing specific that I can think of.

Narration -
Narration by Marie Hoffman was a good match for the content. Her voice is quite soothing and pleasant to listen to. It makes for a good listening experience.

If you like solving ghost mysteries please continue

Three separate stories all involving solving the ghosts murder. Quirky means of Clue. Piper Chen meets her favorite author only to find he's dead and she now has a ghost attached to her to solve his murder. Very interesting who did it. Plus karma has her say. Next is grieving alcoholic Samantha Torres who sees a ghost only she doesn't realize it. After pushed into sleuthing the death of her date, Sam gets kidnapped. She's saved with the help of her ghost and realized her ghost isn't who she thought it was. Nice twist. Karma got her vengeance. And Sam got her happy ever after. Finally college student Katie Mills goes on her roommates art field trip to escape her roommate who happens to be a ghost. Darlene seeks vengeance on her murder and uses Katie to get her justice. We meet the suspects and watch Katie come out of her meek, shy and quiet shell. As the mystery reveals its secrets, who learn who murdered Darlene and justice is served. Very fortuitous.

Oh Wow! what a wonderful murder mystery, it kept me hanging and reading till the end. absolutely loves them all. This author can write about multiple subjects and characters that are rich, exciting and loveable.

Compare to the other series, this series is more well rounded characters and has everything: adventure, ghosts, spark of romance, murder, life and villians that get what they deserved. It even have a pet with personality.

Angela Pepper now is my favourite author, I can't wait to read her other books..

Stilted

Good concept but characters not fully fleshed out. 1'Ghost a little scary. At very end found out who it was. Felt that this ghost should have mixed in sadness. Spoiler: Young guy doesn't get angry at being lied to/made a fool of. Doesn't even ask for explanation? Did not enjoy enough to read other 2 in trilogy.

Meh. Just meh.

Parts were so stupid. If she saw in the photo who the murderer was why did she run from safety and get into the car with the murderer?!?!

And that's just one thing.

I'm not wasting my time writing more on this.

Great book

I chose these books for a stand alone and a quick read. The three books were each in there own way unique, funny and enjoyable. I would recommend these to anyone who likes ghost stories but not in a scary way. They are great reads!!

see the individual book reviews. I listened to this a second time after listening to each book.
I still think the first two books were better than the third. This is not to say that the third book was bad just a bit off from the first two books. The narrator did a great job.

Not a series, very light reading

There were some creepy twists and turns but these were individual stories, not a series. Easy to read on the beach or traveling though!
