My best friend moved away at the end of the school year. Now my family has moved into a house that looks a thousand years old and could pass for the Addams Family's summer home. I'm pretty sure it's haunted, and I'm about to be the star of my own paranormal reality show whether I like it or not. But the worst part is that Walker Dean is my new next door neighbor.
Walker Dean tears through girls' hearts like a tornado through a trailer park. Sure, he's one of the hottest guys in school, but he's also a player who lives for hookups and doesn't know the meaning of the word relationship. A girl would have to be crazy to even think about getting mixed up with him.
Even do it wasn't the best book ever, I did enjoy reading it. I just wish Walker didnt fall for the Lead girl so fast or I should say persuade her so fast. Everything happen so fast. . How can a big bad boy player change so fast? I just needed him to hold back more so the story would of been more interesting. And a few times he said he liked her because she is different. I read that in a few books and I don't understand the meaning behind it. Are they tired of chocolate and want to try vanilla because the have had chocolate so much they are tired of the flavor. For me it doesn't mean they like the girl but they are just different so they want to try it with some who is not their usual type.
The ending was like the author was rushing. His excuse for doing what he did was so stupid. And her being okay with it wasn't a good look for her.
Our lead girl was your normal teen, I have read about whinier FL. I love her relationship with Molly.
I also want to read about Molly and Quinn. They seem so different and it intrigues me how their story will play out.
The funny part is that I want to read the next installment hahah I hope she is not a weak girl and if he cheats on her she just doesn't late him. I was actually sharing for her ex boyfriend he seemed sweet and nice.
So I read the first 10% try out and it sounded like this was fun cute read, but it was not. The characters behave like 13 year olds, the dialog is cheesy, characters are nothing special. We have insta love. I did not enjoy this book.
I thought this book was good; it has me wanting to read the next book for sure. But what I did like was how Delaney changed everything for Walker; often it can be that one guy or that one girl that can change the person that everyone knows. She (Delaney) did that for Walker by ending up being the ONE girl he knew he changed his whoring ways for and be the boyfriend she needs & being the girlfriend he always needed. It’s funny how they ended up making one other JEALOUS 🤣 like dang they could’ve walked up to each other and just kissed but NO Laney started talking to her first kiss/boyfriend while also watching Walker whereas Walker end up using London by getting her to rub sunscreen on him ... they both were wrong & was glad that in the end, he was the one to chase Laney since girls always chasing him (Walker). & they finally ended up together; even Delaney mama wanted her to get to the next door neighbor & stop stalking him lol... but crazy how her family never found out that she was sneaking out of the house to see Walker.
But before I end this review; Walker name is just horrible like “Walker Dean” like his name is backward he has the last name for a first name & the first name for the last name... I mean he’s name could’ve been Dean that would’ve 100% better. aka “Dean Walker” I’m just saying 🤷🏽♀️
Eh. In theory it’s kind of ok. But the last part of the book was pure overdone teenage angst and then DONE! Which made me realise that there really hadn’t been a hell of a lot going on before hand either. There was lots of skipping thru time, when we could have seen a relationship building. There were the few times they actually interacted, but they were fairly short and looking back, very few for the goal of the book. I think there was actual timing issues too, the time span didn’t seem to match the stated times. And on top of that there was one of my favourite bug bears... an invisible character. The story told she had to stay back from holidays to look after her little sister. I think we only actually saw the kid on the page once, and she was asleep. The rest was just convenient ‘she’s watching tv’.
When a average non popular High School girl falls for the popular High School Jock who can and has had nearly any girl he wanted fall for each other... Will this type of relationship work? Or will social status tear them apart? Is He just trying to broaden his conquests since he has been with every girl in his popular group? or can they really love each other? Ally has all these thoughts in her head, she doesnt want to be another notch in Walkers belt. She is going in with her eyes open and her heart guarded but misunderstandings still happen that cause terrible pain and anguish that comes with young love. This was a quick cozy story I enjoyed.. Took me back to my younger days of first love.
It was an easy read by there was no substance. The player instantly falls for our main character because… she gave him a tour round school many years ago? All the other girls who like him are “skanks” which made it feel quite dated.
Also the title is bizarre since aside from her thinking her house is spooky there’s nothing supernatural or related to haunting.
Have enjoyed all her books so far but I felt this one was too quick he fell for her straight away and then he did something and she just forgave him just like that then it was finished was too fast for me
Lovely story! I would have liked it to be a little longer, I would have really enjoyed reading more about Delaney and Walker. 😍 Adorable though! Can't wait to finish the series!
Umm, okay. This wasn't really my cup of tea, but I guess I should have known that. So - as far as I can tell, this story was about Delaney and Walker, and that's pretty much it. There were no ghosts, sadly, literal or metaphorical. There was also not really a plot? I mean there kind of was, but I'm not really sure it counts as a plot? However, this was a novella, so I guess I should keep that in mind. Overall, I, personally, somewhat regret spending time reading this, no offence to people that like this book and the author. Remember - this is just my opinion. One last thing; I am one of the people that would have preferred Walker Dean to be called Dean Walker *but* I respect authors' creative decisions. Thanks.
Super cute summer beach read which is funny since that's a big part of the book. Fun short teen romance book. Delaney and Walker are a fun couple to read about. Very interested to see what happens next. ☺️
