I received a free ARC copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.

This book was super cute. An excellent Valentine's Day book! (Especially considering Valentine's Day definitely did not go as planned. Not every V-day can be perfect, haha.) Honestly, when Jess and Katie got in their heads that it would be great to set up this oh-so-romantic over the top date on Valentine's Day for Chris and Lucy I groaned inwardly. That could not go well. (Personally, I would never want to have a first date on Valentine's Day and for some of the very reasons that occur in this book.) But I decided to be optimistic. Too bad I was right. Their date ends up being the mother of all disasterous dates (but how can it not be when your stalker shows up and happens to be a shifter with a thorn in his paw?). Lucy and Chris' story was cute from the beginning. It was adorable watching Chris fumbling with the computer (I'm actually shocked he caught onto the iPhone so quickly). I enjoyed watching his apprehension at being a beta for the FureverMates dating site turn into excitement as he talked to Lucy. The connection was almost instant (it is interesting that the instant mate connection seemed to work through cyber space, I've never seen that happen before in a shifter romance). As Chris and Lucy went out on their first date I felt bad for them. They were both so nervous (V-day putting unneeded extra pressure on the date). After the colossal disaster of a date Lucy does not want to see Chris again (or at least that's what she thinks). When he shows up at her door, her best friend, Frankie, runs interference only to give Lucy a huge shock a few minutes later. But this big surprise does help Lucy understand why she feels so strongly for Chris. Little does she know that Chris decided to take out the trash after Frankie insisted Lucy wasn't home and that he wouldn't tell him where to find her. She calls Chris in the middle of a battle with the previously mentioned scum of a wolf shifter. But all is well that ends well, and this book most certainly ends well! It is absolutely a HEA ending and doesn't have a cliffhanger (though it does involve a little teaser of what might be to come in the future, or at least I hope so). Lucy and Chris honestly make a perfect match for each other and their love is palpable. I would definitely recommend this to anybody who enjoys PNR and wants a little Valentine's Day thrown into the mix. Excellent book.

I got pulled into this story from the very beginning and enjoyed it all the way through. I loved the characters and the way they interacted with each other. I loved the fact that it felt like I knew them almost from the start even though I was just meeting them. The story is light with a touch of fun and a little angst and a lot of romance. This is the first thing I have ever read from this author and I plan to read the other books in this series since I started near the end.

Lucy is a cop who has a hard time meeting men, and the cause seems to mainly be her profession. Men are either intimidated or have a creepy interest in her hand cuffs. Her latest blind date turns out worse then most when her date realizes she is a police officer it becomes obvious he is a bad guy who runs causing her to chase and arrest him. After this date she almost wants to give up on dating but her BFF has other plans and a new app. for her to try.

Chris owns a bar in a town that is being built to house shifters from around the country interested in moving there. But he finds himself a bit jealous of his friends who seem to have found love, even if he tells himself he is not interested in finding a mate. When they ask him to beta test a dating app he is at first reluctant but as he thinks about it he decides that he can try and when it does not work he can go back to his dull life. But then it works better than he could have expected.

This was a totally sweet story with a few dark moments to give it balance. I loved it!

3.5 STARS. A good enough read through KU.
Sweet enjoyable read with likeable characters. Lovely story of a shy bear who is talked into joining a new dating app. He meets his mate in the form of Lucy, a gun toting detective.
Loved when they finally managed to have a real date with no incidents. A picnic by the lake was perfect.
Still no real-world building but you could read this without having read the previous two books.
Liked that Damon was arrested but it really needed more explanation about who he was and why he was the baddie. Still not sure myself what his motives are.
Still has silly proof reading errors.

This was a fun and fast read.

A female cop is fed up with men who are intimidated with her profession. Chris is a man who likes being alone, at least that is what he tells his friends. Being cornered by his friends mate, he is asked to try a new shifter app. He doesn't and he ends up meeting Lucy.

Chris lets his friends set up the date with a limo and fine dinning on Valentines day to impress Lucy. Chris feels like it is a little over the top but he likes Lucy.

Unfortunately Lucy's job interferes with the date and they are both left to wonder if there will be a second one.

Lady cop looking for love finds a man via a new app.

He's a bartender ( bear shifter), she's an honest cop with bought off superiors. A Valentine's day date is where he meets the crook who got away from her as well as caused problems for a friend of his. That's when his bear decides she is his and the crook who happens to be a wolf shifter needs to meet his bear for some correction. Chaos ensues.

I liked it!

Surprisingly sweet valentines story. Both the H and h (Chris/Lucy) were likable characters! No crazy contrived drama that goes on and on. Just a sweet, well written shifter romantic short story with no cheating and a satisfying HEA! Voluntarily submitting this fair review because I enjoyed it!

Im not sure why so many reviews feel the need to regurgitate the story! Why read the book then?
In MY opinion, this is an ADORABLE story - stand alone but now I want to read the other parts.
Really cute storyline, a great little novella / short story PERFECT for my Sunday afternoon.

Love Furever

This was a wonderful shifter love story. Chris was rendered speechless when he saw Lucy for the first time. Lucy was in awe when she saw him too. There was a small hiccup but they were made for each other. Made me think that maybe you can find d love on a dating app.

Bear Naked for Valentines

Lucy is a cop and keeps having to arrest her dates when they find out. Chris is a bear shifter and unhappy because he hasn't found his mate. Ben has created a dating site and gets Chris to sign up and he sends message to Lucy. Fireworks galore. And a little evil thrown in for good measure.

Bouquet of Wildflowers

Chris the Bartender gets talked into trying out his friend Ben's new dating app. He connects with a detective and his friends convince him to take her out on a romantic Valentine's Day date. It was all going good until he turned into a bear. Can he get a second chance? Recommended for all who love shifter romances.

This came to me as a free kindle book that was available at Valentines Day. I needed a book for a reading challenge that was "a book that takes place at a Holiday other than Christmas" and there you go.

Well... it was short. And given that I went in, fully expecting it to be rather.. um... given the cliche of the title, it wasn't as bad as I expected. Though I probably should have done a little research to see if this might be in a series (which it is), as it was clear that there is a whole world that I've just been dumped into with no introduction that can only be in previous stories.

I used to love paranormal/shifting romance. Back in my early 20's I totally devoured the books I found in the genre. This book hit all the tropes for the genre... sexy guy who is a shifter of some flavor (in this case a bear - no surprise again due to the title of the book), instant and explainable soul wrenching connection when first laying eyes on the woman, overwhelming protective need to the point of risking exposure to normal humans, independent woman forgiving the over-protectiveness and falling hopelessly for him as well, some kind of mind-blowing sex, and "it all works out in the end and they all live happily ever after" ending.

I will say that I expected a lot of over-written purple prose for the sex scene (of which there is only one) but it wasn't. I wasn't completely moved by it, but I have certainly read way worse.

I don't think I will be looking for more of this series, but based on this one book, I wouldn't tell people to not read it, if it is a genre they enjoy.

I'd give it a 2.5 if I were able to do 1/2 stars.

Cute, sweet story

This is the first book that I've read by Ms. Hawkes and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It seems it's part of a series but I enjoyed it without reading the previous stories.
It's a semi quick read but it is well written. Only one sentence didn't make sense to me. Worth reading.

Wowzer this book was dynamite Omg I need more of this series. It's just phenomenal I loved it and diffently recommend this book it is a Must Read.
Lucy aka: Luc is a Police Detective  she worked hard to become a detective and she was the best she could be. Too bad she wasn't lucky with dating as she was a Detective. Then her friend Frankie talk her into applying into the Furever Mates app. and wow she got a good one this time at least she thought she did.
Chris is a Bear Shifter who owns a bar but right now he was a little depressed.  Everywhere he looked in his bar were couples playing kiss face or even his friends were mates. But not him he was all alone. Yep he has figured that was his life. He was a little green around the gill there.
A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.

I am a relatively new reader of the "shifter" genre but I have to admit I love the bear shifters the most. I love the idea of a big, hairy man who knows who he is and what he wants. They are always confident in who they are and yet caring about others around them. That's a great combination and it makes for a good read. Add in a strong woman and it makes it a great read. That's what this book is.

Puts a Smile on Your Face

This is the first book that I've read in the Bear Oak series. I must say that I really enjoyed reading Chris and Lucy's story. It's not the first book in this series, but that doesn't matter. I was comfortable reading this story even though I hadn't read the first two books. That's something I'm going to rectify as soon as I finish this review. Bear Naked For Valentine's is a fun book. There's also a some romance, drama and action throw in for good measure. I had a big smile on my face when I finished reading this book. Enjoy!
