***Will the single dad fall in love with the babysitter in this novel-length tale? Super steamy romance with a very happy ending! Bonus novel included for a limited time!***
A young woman that wants to finish her college education but can't cause her mother won't give her trust fund to her to pay for the last year of her music degree. She runs into an old army buddy of her dads at her mother's house and he offers her a job. It a live in nanny job for his ten year old son. She turns him down but ends up looking him up to take the job. They had an electic attaction at her mothers but that attaction grows more and more once she is living with him and taking care of his son. Its a shame at first that the older man couldn't accept his feelings for her as his girlfriend as well as his nanny. Life gets in the way due to his ex wife threating to take his son to a different state so he lets his love leave. Once she is gone he realizes that he loves her and wants her with him at all times but has to set out to find her. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. Lexi can’t finish her degree in music because she has not any money left. She needs a job as soon as possible. Everett needs a nanny for his son and when he knows about Lexi’s problems, he offers her the position. Both Everett and Lexi like each other but there is just a small problem: Everett is much older than her. The book needs some editing and there are some gaps in the storyline, for example, what was the relationship between Lexi and her father? How Everett and her father meet? Why does Lexi’s mother behave like that? All in all, the book is a quick read and enjoyable, ideal for a rainy evening.
Two mean people in this story, his ex wife and her mother. They continue to stir up trouble and incite tension. This is the story of a 21 year old college student who needs to earn money for school because her mother has cut her off. Everett and old friend of her father's needs a nanny so he hires Lexi as a live in Nanny. Lots of sexual tension between the two. For someone who liked to be in control, I did not like the control that Everett's ex wife had over him or the way that he treated Lexi. Lots of turmoil but we do get an HEA. I voluntarily reviewed a copy fo this book in return for an honest review.
The premise is a good one and, on the surface, there are the requisite characters...older man, younger woman, bitchy ex, adorable child, a witch of a mother.
There is nothing wrong with the pace of the book and, on the whole, it is well written. But the imbalance in the relationship was too great.
Everett had things way too easy and Lexi was much too quick to forgive him.
This made the ending seem rushed, and, frankly, unbelievable.
I just had to read this book. I read the blurb and just knew it was for me.
Lexi is down on her luck and needs help with money. She has a trust fund that she can receive when she turns 21 but her mom won't let her have it. Her mom has to control her on everything. She doesn't know what she's going to do until she meets Everett. He offers her a job as a nanny. She just has to fight her feelings for Everett.
Everett needs someone to watch his 11 year old son when he has him. He is a man that has to have control. When he meets Lexi again, it just seems that all that control goes out the window. It seems that he really wants her until things get hard.
I couldn't stand Lexi's mom. I wish someone had paid her back. Everett is a man that I started out pretty good and then I just lost faith in him. I just couldn't see how he could do what he did. I will say that I liked the ending and just wish that there was more of it. I liked this book and can't wait to read more by this author.
I received an ARC for Daddy Complex and voluntarily reviewed this book. I really enjoyed this story, and it was a great, sexy read. The pacing of relationship development from start to end was spot on and believable to me. We have Lexi, who has lived the last few years with a mother who has slowly changed into an embittered and spiteful woman, who refuses to help Lexi financially through her last year at college. Lexi meets an old military friend of her dad's while she at her mom's for just that purpose, and there is instant attraction between herself and Everett. Upon hearing that she needed a job, he offers a live-in nanny position to care for his son while he sets up his new business in town. Left with no choice now, she takes the job, though she is intrigued and excited by this man and lets him know by making the first move, which was overwhelmingly accepted. This whole arrangement seemed to be working out perfectly for all, that is, until the ex-wife shows up one day and announces that she will be moving and taking their son with her. Suddenly, everything changes, and their perfect little world is rattled What will happen next, now that her life has irrevocably changed?
Daddy Complex was a good older man/younger woman romance, and I liked that Everett was Lexi's dad's buddy. Lexi seemed pretty level headed. for her age, which I really liked. I think I'm used to the older male being a more dominant figure. Here, Lexi is the one almost stepping up and pursuing Everett, and maybe I attribute that to him having a son, but I would have liked Everett to be a stronger character. But having said that, I did enjoy the build-up to their relationship, and there were some really hot scenes. When Everett's ex came around, again I thought Everett let her lead him around, but there is a revelation in the story which kind of explains that as well. So overall, I did enjoy the story but would have definitely preferred a better male character. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Lexi is visiting her mom to ask for more money so she can finish her last year at college. At the door of her mom's house, she runs into a handsome older man knocking on her mom's door. The man is Everett who was a friend of her late father when they were both in the military. Everett is returning his friends watch to his family. He is shocked by the changes in the women. Lexi's mom is hard and more brittle and tries to put the moves on him. Lexi is a grown beautiful woman who he is instantly drawn to. Knowing that Lexi could use the money, he offers her the position of nanny to his 11 year old son. Lexi is desperate for money and attracted to Everett so she says yes. Everett is very happy because it is very clear to him that Lexi is a submissive and she wants to be his good girl. Together the three, father ,son and nanny are happy and then the mom (ex-wife) hears about the new nanny. This is a great book and very steamy.
A sweet story about an adult girl (even if she is young) and an adult man. It had a good storyline not just about the Lexi and Everett. I'm not a fan of 'Daddy' calling, but this story changed my way of loking at it. A well written story and I hope you read it. I received an ARC for Daddy Complex and voluntarily reviewed this book.

Meg Watson is a very talented author that has a knack for writing older man/younger woman romance. She makes it sexy without being "gross". Daddy Complex is book 9 in the Fertile For Him series and I plan on reading the first 8 as well. Lexi is a college student that has been afflicted with a "witch" for a mother, who won't help her financially out of spite and meanness. Lucky for Lexi, she meets Everett, a former military buddy of her dad's. Everett wants to hire Lexi to be nanny to his 11 year old son, Winston. But that isn't all he wants from her and Lexi is just as attracted to Everett. The sex between them is fantastic and mind blowing but would any kind of relationship work for them? After all, there's 20 years age difference between them. And what happens if Lexi's mom and Everett's ex decide to cause trouble?
1 1/2 stars It started off interesting and then fell flat for me. The characters had a lot of potential, but there wasn't really any development - in either the characters or the plot. I didn't feel a bond with them or between them. I didn't even see a basis for the "I love you's". There were also a lot of editing issues for me as well is inconsistencies...ie wearing a tank top and the next sentence it's a t-shirt. It was a very quick read, but I'm unlikely to read another. I received an advanced reader copy of this book for a voluntary, completely honest, and non-incentivized review.
First off, I am not really into Daddy stories or role play but I enjoy Meg Watson's books for the most part. For me, there is so much going on in this story in such a short time. Lexington becomes a nanny for an old acquaintance of her father's military days. They immediately start a relationship which I have no problem with the age gap. I find it strange the way her mother treats her with no reason explained or what happened to her trust fund. Also, why does Everett allow his ex to dictate so much in regards to raising their son? So every time she gets upset and moves, he's going to move too because that's what they agreed on? Take that crazy lady to court!
Everett and Lexi met years ago, but they weren't aware of it until years later. He knew her, but she didn't know him. One chance encounter changed everything. He pretended to need a nanny for his 11 year old son, but his ex wife didn't approve of Lexi. She was just too young for this older man, but what they all didn't understand was love conquers all. I have loved all of Meg Watson's books so far, don't think that will ever change. I voluntarily read an advanced review copy of this book.
