The Council has backed off - the Five are no longer hunted and their lives appear to have found some semblance of peace. While dealing with the pain of losing loved ones, Georgiana, Sky, Ryan and Aidan try to get back whatever normalcy they can get. But Aidan returns sick from visiting his parents, a situation that is strange because weres aren't meant to be sick, least of all the Five. As other students show symptoms that can't be attributed to any particular disease, Georgiana suffers an attack, Sky must face her own demons, and Henry starts a new relationship Georgiana is uncertain of. And no matter how hard they try to get to the bottom of things, they must all deal with the past before they are able to fight for their lives.
The Five are no longer being hunted by the Council and hope to find some normalcy amongst their peers. While they try to find some peace and deal with the loss of loved ones, Aidan (one of the Five) returns to school sick after visiting his family. The situation is concerning as the special weres are not known to get sick or unable to shake illness. When other students show strange symptoms and odd behavior, the Five find themselves hunting the unknown.
Ryan and Georgiana move forward in their relationship and find clues to his missing mother, while Henry tries to move on from his failed relationship with Georgiana and begins dating someone questionable. What will all of this lead to?
This is the third book in The Five saga and it continues to keep this reader’s interest. There is a number of different plotlines going on which adds to the action, suspense, and adventure. It ends with a cliffhanger that has you wondering what more the Five and their friends will be facing in the future.
