In 2011, a fanboy convinced his not-we wife to watch every episode of Doctor Who with him (even the ones that didn't exist any more). The result was a moderately successful blog called 'Adventures with the Wife in Space'. This volume collects the sixth phase of that blog and covers Peter Davison's reign as the Doctor (Castrovalva to The Caves of Androzani). Extras include All Creatures Great and Small, A Very Peculiar Practice and Time Crash (exclusive to this book), plus The Tomorrow People, episode annotations, illustrations by Graham Kibble-White, and a foreword by Jenny T. Colgan.
An interesting and often funny overview of 'Doctor Who: The Adric Year (and Beyond)'. Some of the comments made by Sue Perryman are laugh out loud as she navigates her way episode by episode through Peter Davison's stint as the Doctor, especially when she concludes that the TARDIS is overcrowded, pointing out over and over again that a Doctor can have too many Companions!
Another enjoyable journey through classic Who, with lots of laugh-out-loud moments. We're still in the era I vaguely remember watching - the vagueness probably because I didn't read any of the novelisations afterwards. But it really doesn't matter - I can't stress this enough - the joy comes from Neil and Sue, rather than what they're watching.
I suppose if you are a Who fan who can recite entire episodes, you might well find it even more fun. But it's not essential.
And whoever you are, by the end of it you will know a lot more about TV production in general, thanks to the professional element of Sue's commentary.
