A standalone alpha billionaire romance with a guaranteed HEA...DARCY Bought and paid for. That’s what I am. Nothing but a plaything for billionaire Thayer Noble, picked off a website like some kind of product. He’s sexy as hell, with a clenched chiseled jaw, and the most sensual, brutal lips I've ever seen. His punishing mouth never bends into a welcoming smile but tugs into a furious frown. His indigo eyes are always blazing with fury. His heart is stone cold. When he sees me, he tries to turn me away. But I’ll do whatever he wants in order for him to let me stay. Cook his food. Clean his house. Let him use my body any way he wants…. THAYER Someone drove her to my door. Whoever the hell it was can take her back to where she came from. She’s all curves and softness with wide eyes and full lips. She’s in her early twenties, with a fresh hopefulness and innocence about her that I can’t seem to turn away from. She’s pure. But hope and purity don't mix with my dark world. She claims that if I turn her away, what’s waiting for her is far worse than what I’m going to do to her. She’s about to find out the hard way just how wrong she is…
All I can say is, the idea was good but the execution.. not so much. This started out interesting but somewhere the plot got lost and I actually struggled to finish it- there were so many things going on. Safe 2/5
This'll be short. Story flow, not to my liking. Conversations, somehow creative. Story and plot, ohhh don't get me started on this. There's a reason why this only had two stars in it. The romace was good in fact it is only the thing that was good, the sex. We didn't just click, the book and I. It was too good to be true. Have to read it yourself to relate. But then again, as I've said, 2 stars.
One of the worst novels I've ever read and I've been reading adult books since I was 14 years old. So in the last 33 years I can't think of one I only gave one star to. It reads as though written by a young teenager who doesn't enjoy or understand the English language. Utter bull crap.
First, I guess, does no one use an editor anymore?? Some parts I had to reread and retread because words where missing or in the wrong place or there were to many, so the sentences would come out nonsensical. Which for me is already a big no no
Then, to the story, I guess the storyline was somewhat good, fresh out of college trying to survive young girl signs up to be a Mail Order bride or Callgirl, what ever title tickles your fancy.... I think it really lost me when they were all like, oh yea, shit lets have sex without a condom and let's see what's happens.... who the hell does that ?! NO ONE I stopped reading the third 'Fifty Shades' book because of it... it's just too much out there
I was good and would have given this book a solid 3.5 stars up until that part. After that, I was thinking, nah, you pushed it to far... a solid 1.5 because it kept me interest throughout one evening

## FABULOUS read. Oh, I know it was a tad predictable, but who cares? It was so much fun to read. Thayer and Darcy's chemistry was off the charts hot. I adored them together. I loved that the author didn't write this billionaire as the obligatory manwhore. Yay. There's nothing worse than having to read about a hero's revolving bed. My only issue was it was a little short. I wish they had struggled a little more before their happy ending. The book actually ends at 78% (seems another book follows). And while I'm all for a complete ending, the actual happy ending happened at 51%. The rest was just wedding prep & such. But the rest was so good, I still had to rate 5 stars. This is my first book by this author, but I will definitely be seeking others.
Thank goodness for the ski bum adding humor to this read and the banter between him, the hero, and heroine. VERMONT even! It was a whirlwind of a relationship. I didn't like when Lenny showed up. Other than learning Lenny was an abuser in bits and pieces; why didn't our hero find him first?
Sweet and sexy. This is one of those honest to goodness romances. That give you butterflies and makes you sigh and smile. I was so wrapped up in this book that had it read in no time at all. I loved how the author tied up all the lose ends. And what a beautiful HEA.
Loved everything about this book, from the beginning to the end. The storyline flowed well and made me want to find out what was going to happen next. Passion, love, angst, were all found in this book. But don't take my word for it, read it!
Book well written and actually had a story line. This would be good for a holiday read. Would read better if there were fewer mistakes in the printing and extra words inserted that front make sense.
I love that the heroine is innocent but not shy. I love that she does not hide any secrets and she doesn't allow her lover to keep secrets from her. Their best friends are a real bonus. I would have like to have known more about her past and why Thayr hated Herc.
Good book that I would recommend. Loved the characters. Story line great. My heart was pounding with fear, excitement and curiosity. Would recommend book.
This is one of those weird 2 stars positive reviews. I definitely see this author fine tuning all the issues with this story as long as she continues writing.
The characters were engaging and varied but while they weren't one dimensional they didn't make the full jump to being fully fleshed out either, there were missing motives everywhere.
The flow of the story itself could have used a bit of editing also. Towards the end it led itself more to a feeling of being a series of vignettes rather than one full story. Like the author wanted to wrap everything she'd even slightly touched upon up before hitting end. This led to an odd feeling for me as generally I like the idea of authors doing extras for favorite characters so that you can see milestones but being put to the end of the book you're reading just made it feel like it dragged a bit.
She ties up the father but never ever touches upon the mother or two older siblings. All the reader knows is that they left but no mention of when or even where they are now.
As far as grammar, there were some spelling (spellcheck doesnt catch if you write shed instead of she) and grammatical issues. Honestly nothing too bad and probably nothing that would turn a reader off but definitely a sign of needing a better editor.
Finally, maybe the one true thing that irked me in this story... she was NOT a "mail-order-bride". If you go on a website for young ladies seeking rich guys to take care of them for a set period of time thats either a sugar daddy site or an escort site depending on marketing and business model. Generally being the question of time length and whether see can see other people. There are plenty of people that would read the book if this were how the story were marketed, myself one of them. If it had truely been a mail-order bride site she would have shown up with the expectation of marrying whoever was on the other side of the door, not just expecting to hide out for six months.
Overall though, and I know I was really critical, it wasn't a bad book and while I wouldn't recommend buying it at 2.99 its current .99 is perfect and if you have KU no reason not to read it as there are assuredly worse books out there on KU.
I will be looking for more from this author in the future to see if she polishes up.
Darcy is a nitwit small town girl. There's a difference between being niaeve and innocent and being a complete idiot!! Didn't enjoy this book at all. She stands up to him at the wrong time. He's just a controlling ass. I honestly expected him to be a vampire or something he was so secretive. All in all he was ok. But the characters lack depth. If you want a simple book with sex starting in the beginning, knock yourself out. My reason for liking this genre is the chase, the cat and mouse routine. There is none of that. And honestly the sex isn't even that great. She's so stupidly innocent she's worthless. She no heroine she's simply a bimbo. Heroines are strong capable women that don't need a man they want one. They don't have to submit they chose to submit to their man. Her attitude is flippant and oh if he says this I should do it because I don't know how to think for myself. No thanks. I won't buy this author again.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
If you like hot and steamy passion, scorching hot intimate scenes, then this book is for you. This is the first time I read a book by this author, Kaylee Quinn, and I must say, it was awesome. I loved the characters of Thayer Noble and Darcy Lawrence. I laughed at times during the banter between Thayer and Darcy. Thayer is the billionaire resort mogul who is single, handsome, and listed as the sexiest man alive. Darcy signs up with an agency, Costly Cupid, as a mail-order bride because her father has squandered all their money. What Darcy does not know is that Thayer did not request her services. When she arrives at Thayer’s home, she finds that he is a cantankerous individual who is wants to put her out, but Darcy is resigned to finding a way to stay because she cannot go back home and she is in need of the money promised her—but what Thayer does not know is that Darcy has a secret that she is running away from. The scenes are well written, fast-paced and flow smoothly from one scene to the next. This story will pique your interest and draw you in from the beginning to the very end. I just wish it was a little longer.
I love a hot, sexy, and so sweet romance book. These two were cute together, and Darcy, was a great loving character. They both needed what the other had. Definitely enjoyed this book.
Darcy only wanted to be wanted and appreciated. She grew up with a deadbeat for a father. Until she given up on hope and signs u on a dating service to be a mail ordered bride for six months. Thayer, the beast hides in his castle on the mountain not letting anyone in. This was a great book. Well written about both characters and both of them needing something and not expecting to find it.
HOTT -N- SEXY!!!! I loved, loved, loved this book. Fast Paced, So Funny, it had me laughing so hard one minute and then crying the next. A must read! You won't regret buying this book. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
This review is for the first story. The writing is pretty good and the story is interesting but there are a lot of typos, in particular a lot of either missing or extra words. Example: 'I'll take job' instead of 'I'll take the job". There are many of these silly mistakes and they make the reading difficult. Too bad because the author had the other aspects of the story right.
Needs an editor. Story flow was too fast. HEA happened in the middle of the book, everything else was like too much frosting on a cupcake. Chemistry-hot.
I enjoyed Thayer and Darcy's story and I was very glad it was one full book and not broken up in many chapters as one book as is often the case with published by Favor Ford. My only complaint would be the editing ( or proofreading) as once again there were grammatical, spelling and scene/character issues which are very distracting as a reader. The sex scenes were hot and I enjoyed how the two broken characters helped to heal each other.
I was provided a copy of the book by the author/editor for an honest review
are you looking for a sweet romance?....this is it! are you looking for HOT and delicious love scenes?...ohhhh it's in here!!! are you looking for suspense and surprises? you won't be able to stop once you start....enjoy! thanks from a new found follower of Kaylee Quinn ;)
Oh my goodness....this book! If this is the first book that Kaylee Quinn has written then I cannot wait for her future ones. It was written so well, yes there were some grammar errors but the rest of the story was seriously good enough I didn't even mind...that much! LOL!
Darcy is on the run from her father and gets a job as a mail order bride but without the marriage part and thinks that Thayer has "ordered" her when in fact his best friend has to try to pull Thayer out of the funk he been in for years since tragedy struck him. Originally he tells her to leave and she gets upset realizing that he is the only way for her to stay safe. Due to the fact that Thayer owns a mountain retreat and with the weather that's there he can't really just put her out, so he allows her to stay overnight in a guest room. But, after comforting her after a nightmare they connect and he realizes he can't let her go. Their relationship grows from there and there is still so much to this tory even though it sounds like I've given everything away.
Wonderful supporting characters (even the "villains"), a strong alpha male that isn't afraid to show his softer side with the female lead and not to mention the female lead that is strongly written despite the upbringing she had to endure make up this wonderful story. I also loved this authors choice of lines. Yes, some could be classified as cheesy but seriously they weren't. They tugged at my heartstrings. Favorite line was by far "You loved me and then let me love you right back".....yes picking yourself up off the floor is required!
Please take the time to read this book. It's got a lot packed into it even though it does have another book with it by another author from the same publishing company. I definitely recommend it!
