HE DID ALL THE RIGHT THINGS--AND THEN THE BODIES STARTED PILING UP... The Dirty Lowdown wrote: "Nick James has nailed it. The all too dark side of our legal industry, and the type of character we're all too afraid to admit exists!" It looks like disbarred attorney Bobby Custer has won the lottery. After serving four years of a seven-year sentence, he gets an offer he can’t refuse – from the feds. They just want him to keep an eye out for shady goings-on at one of the most prestigious law firms in the city. And suddenly he’s out – out of jail, but also totally cast out of his old life: shunned by family and friends, working the hallways and back alleys of the legal game and finding plenty of shady dealings to keep an eye on.
He's psychotic, narcissistic, psychopathic, greedy, unprincipled ... and always charming.
He did all the right things -- went to law school, got a job in a good law firm -- right up until the conviction for “a minor dalliance with a trust fund”. You could almost feel for the guy – a young man tempted by the high life could make a mistake he regrets and end up losing everything. And a guy who’ll help you hide a body could just be a good friend. But as the bodies start piling up, you have to wonder if there’s something about Bobby that’s just not … right.
Chilling and action-packed, Corridor Man exposes a dark, violent undercurrent just beneath the surface of “perfectly legal and above-board”.
A combination of Breaking Bad and House of Cards, Corridor Man series are a collection of sinister, disturbing thrillers that are bound to keep you awake at night.
I was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, I still live there as well as in Dublin, Ireland. I've been a soldier, freelance journalist, tended bar, sold designer cakes, owned a painting and decorating company along with a number of other schemes and scams. If that doesn't offend you I also play bagpipes with the Brian Boru Irish Pipe Band. All my books stand alone, read them in whatever order you wish. They are filled with the sort of oddballs we are all curious about, but wisely, prefer to keep at a distance. None of my characters will be saving the world from terrorism, international banking conspiracies or coups to take over the government. Rather, they inhabit a world just below the surface of polite society, characters with one foot on either side of the law. The circumstances they find themselves in are usually due to bad decisions, but bad decisions lead to interesting stories. They serve not so much as an example but as a warning to us all. Thanks for taking the time, happy reading.
I absolutely LOVE Bobby Custer! I could not get this book out of my head. I was always wondering what predicament Bobby was going to find himself in next! Now, that I’ve finished; I miss Bobby! Probably the most relatable, likable character I’ve ever read! The story is extremely entertaining! Well done!
At Volume 2 I was thinking this is very long and will I ever finish it, but as I got on, I really enjoyed the book, if not sympathised with the main character. By the time I got to book 5, I was thinking "I hope this isn't the end. I wanted to know what would come next.
I'm very pleased that there are another 5 volumes and have just bought the next bundle of 4 in the series. I guess volume 10 must be a cliffhanger because it's not in the bundle.
If you like a crime thriller with gangsters and strong characters, I think you'll like this book. What I find really interesting is that the hero is also a villain, which makes it interesting to relate to him, because the things he does can be as bad as the things happening around him. I often consider myself as the main character when I read a book, and this adds an edge when the character does things I would never do.
This in my book, if you will pardon the puns, is a good read.
This was the last of Mike Faricy's series that I picked up, and I read all ten in the series straight through. If you've read Mike's other work, don't expect this one to have a similar protagonist! In the first part of the series, Bobby Custer was someone I hated to love - he was a jerk, but you were rooting for him.
You'll get pulled into the intrigue right away in this fast-paced series! I was glad this was a box set because as soon as I finished one, I couldn't wait to jump into the next.
Unlike the other series, this one is not really made up of stand-alone stories. To compare it to a TV show, these are like the first five episodes of a ten-episode season! And trust me...you'll be binge-reading!
Bobby Custer, says he’s no relation, disbarred and sprung from prison by the Feds, wanders through a series of uphill and downhill events that don’t end “happily ever after”. I think the rest of the series is a Gotta Read just to find out if he lands on his feet.
Gritty, grueling and totally worth the read! Each book better than the one before it. They grab you from the beginning and don't let you go, even after you are finished reading. I want to read more of The Corridor Man!
Big Faricy fan. This is the best of his I have ever read. Disbarred, recently released from prison, Bobby ends up in a support role @ legal firm. All kinds of things happen.
Excellent, I loved these first five books and I just purchased the next four in this series. The author is actually Mike Faricy who writes the Dev Haskell books which I have read as well. If you choose to read Corridor Man you may find yourself cheering for a scoundrel.
Captured my attention - nonstop! I wanted to read all day and night. Bobby is something else. Who says luck is everything - not me! Bobby is calm in crazy situations. MUST READ for series junkies!!!!!
The protagonist is a rascal with class. The kind of guy you can't resist but know you should. Having read many of Mike Faricy's novels, his style holds your attention and leaves you looking forward to his next adventure.
I like his other series...Dillon, Hot Shot, Haskell so was looking forward to this. Did not enjoy. Totally not believable. To far out to even consider anything like this happening
I read and finished the first two books in this series and gave up on it. The character in it just kept getting worse and worse; it's hard to read a book when there is nobody in it that is likeable. I rate these 2 stars.
I like this author as his characters are quirky and off beat mixed with subtle humour. Bobby Custer is a regular guy with quite a dark side. Really enjoyable read
