Premiering on May 12, Fallen Tiers is the final book in the Blue Dragon's Geas. From the appearance of a mysterious egg to the onslaught of a vicious storm, Alador must now decide when to move against his Uncle. How will he protect Rena's egg? Can he save people from a storm of his own making, from the winter before? Can he really eliminate the well entrenched High Minister, who also happens to be his uncle. This last task must be done.. or he will fail his Geas given by the Blue Dragon. Failure of a major geas only ends in death. Alador is fairly certain attempting to remove his uncle will also end in death. Which death will our young hero choose or will he surprise them all and complete the Geas, releasing him from a predestined path he would have never chosen.
Cheryl Matthynssens was born in Upland, California, holds a teaching degree and is a licensed addictions counselor. This has allowed her to interview hundreds of personalities over her career. She loves that everyone is unique and this appreciation and interest has informed and inspired her writing.
Matthynssens enjoys the universe of fantasy for the way it connects to the mind’s creativity and imagination as a colorful escape to distant lands of mystical beasts and fantastic quests where the hero really does save the day. As she’s matured artistically, Matthynssens has found writing to be a comforting counterbalance to a world where beloved characters don’t always get back up after they fall down.
Matthynssens currently lives in Riverside, Washington, and has four beautiful children and four wonderful grandchildren
The storytelling remains first-rate, as one should expect by now. We see many relationships develop, and some of the nuances previously hinted at come to fruition. The plot proceeds at a brisk pace, but it always feels fully formed.
Also the ending made me scream. Like literally jump up out of my chair and just shriek.
If you got a 100 page brief excerpt un-edited, Amazon sent you the placeholder to show I was writing the book while it was on presale. I wish I had never put it up for presale as the 109 page document out there is not the book. If you got this, please contact me and I will tell you how to get the actual book. Basically you have to take it out of your library completely and then go to the Amazon website of your library and resend it to your device. You will not, however, get the new copy if you don't remove the original send. Hope that helps and I am so sorry that the bad version is out there.
I have greatly enjoyed this entire series. It has kept me enthralled through each book. However, this final one needs to be edited in the worst way. There were an enormous amount of typos, misspellings, question marks and commas where periods should have been and periods where a question mark should have been. Even worse than that though is that between chapters 25-27, they were out of order. An event was spoken of that appeared to have already happened and then I ran across the chapter where it was happening later. It had been put in the wrong place. The chapter where General Levielle is ambushed in his tent was also repeated. I highly recommend going through and fixing these mistakes then re releasing this book after the many issues are fixed. This is a wonderful tale and it's a shame to have all these errors take away from the full enjoyment of it.
This book is about a journey of one young man torn between two worlds
I really enjoyed this series the characters the different lands THE DRAGONS especially the Dragons I can't say that I liked most of the female characters in this series they just didn't leave that much of and impressions on me other than the main characters mother whom I liked and female dragon's who I liked a lot . The main characters wishy washy love interest didn't really do much for me and how he ping pronged between them I don't know . Also the Death Goddess we never found out what her end game was and I'd had liked to know why none of the other God's appeared since different spears worshiped there own God did they know what the Death Goddess was up to . I'm just saying that some ends were not closed unless there's gonna be a follow-up to this series with the daughter . Anyway I really enjoyed this series .
You have your blacksmith/miner finding a huge gemstone that makes him rich. The elders bumps him up to manhood despite him being a teenager. A cougar teaches him sex, despite him having a childhood sweetheart. She would not be amused. He discovers he has magic and is kicked out of his village. He goes to the big city and discover his dad is the leader's brother. He becomes the heir. His playboy traveling salesman dad is a dragon in disguise. Great Story. Though this series could be finished, I'm hoping for either another book or a spin-off series.
I originally had an issue with having the wrong version downloaded, but Amazon soon help my fix that problem. This book was more than I could expect for the final book in this series. How Cheryl involved and blended all the different characters was done very well and she kept the storyline going and interesting. Even better and as a hopeful reader there is a hope of a future series.
I find myself completely lost in the middle of waiting and am thrilled to find conclusions to some of the questions nagging me about this thrilling series. I cannot wait to follow the next adventure!
Awesome read with the storyline moving quickly from one harrowing experience to another. Pleased with the outcome and leaving possibility of off shoot tales.
