Running a billion-dollar hedge fund doesn’t leave a lot of time for fun in the sun, but that doesn’t bother James Brannigan. After spending his youth helping his widowed father raise six younger brothers, James took a cue from his workaholic dad and channeled all his energy into business. So when he learns that his father left him a tiny winery on the Amalfi Coast, he’s not thrilled. A trip to Italy is the last thing his busy schedule needs, but the winery has to go. Which means…he has to go to the winery.

Kyra Summers is the definition of a free-spirit. In her thirty years on earth, she’s never stayed in one place long enough to put down roots until she arrived in Positano and fell hard for the bold flavors, hot sun, warm people, and above all, the wonderful wine. Her job at a small, local winery is her first attempt to make a real home and the people who run the place start to become like family to her. Until the winery’s new owner, a devastatingly handsome, shockingly ruthless billionaire, arrives with plans to shut it all down. Kyra’s willing to do whatever it takes to save this place she loves—even if it means cozying up to a man who’s harder than granite and twice as cold.

But the Italian sunshine has a way of heating things up—with every fiery exchange, they strike sparks and draw irresistibly closer together. James is stunned by his attraction to a woman unlike any he’s met before, and Kyra discovers a simmering passion hidden behind his polished exterior. But passion won’t be enough to change James’s mind and his priorities, which is exactly why his late father sent him to Italy. Changing James is going to take a much bigger risk—it’s going to take love.

I don’t know about you, but when I check out an author's bio, it’s usually because I’ve read a book I liked and wondered about the person behind it. Let's skip the formal bio and I'll give you the inside scoop on who Roxanne St. Claire really is.

First of all, call me Rocki. Everyone does. Evidently, when my mother brought me home from the hospital I seemed too scrawny and small to pull off “Roxanne” (she’d read Cyrano de Bergerac while pregnant or I would have been Judy) so they called me Rocki.

I grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, the youngest of five (overachievers, every one), and fell in love with words and stories the summer I read Gone With The Wind. That year, for my twelfth birthday, my parents gave me a typewriter (with italic font – it was the coolest thing) and from that day on, I’ve had my fingers on a keyboard, pounding out love stories for fun. My AP English teacher taught me the two most important lessons an aspiring author ever needs: 1) verbs are the key to life and 2) a writer should get a real job. After attending UCLA and graduating with a degree in communications, I tried acting and television broadcasting. Oh, they aren’t real jobs? I learned that the hard way. I changed my last name from Zink to St. Claire because a news producer told me Roxanne Zink had too many harsh consonants for a TV personality – apparently Katie Couric didn’t get the memo. I got some fun gigs, and even met Tom Hanks when I did a guest appearance on Bosom Buddies. I liked on camera work, but wasn’t too crazy about starvation, so I moved to Boston and got that “real” job. In fact, I placed my foot on the bottom rung of the corporate ladder and didn’t look down until I’d climbed all the way up to the level of Senior Vice President at the world’s largest public relations firm. On the way up, I met the man of my dreams in an elevator. Two years later – in the same elevator! – he asked me to marry him and I wisely said yes.

I stayed in PR, moved to Miami, had a few babies, lost my home in a hurricane, built another one a few hours north and all along, I kept writing my “stories” for fun. One night, I read a particularly fabulous romance novel that changed my life for good. That night, I decided I wanted to make someone else feel as whole and happy as that author made me feel. (Everyone asks! It was Nobody’s Baby But Mine by Susan Elizabeth Phillips.) With two small children and one big “real” job, writing my first novel wasn’t easy, but I did finish a manuscript that managed to get the attention of a literary agent. She told me to do one thing and one thing fast: write another book. (The first one is usually a “learner” book, honestly.) That second manuscript sold to Simon & Schuster’s Pocket Books and was released in 2003 as Tropical Getaway. Since then, I’ve written almost thirty more, in multiple genres, and long ago replaced the corporate ladder with the rollercoaster of publishing as a full-time novelist. Finally, writing is my real job.

Today, I live in a small beach community in Florida with my husband and two dogs. Our kids are off to college and law school, which means my nest is empty! I spend my time writing, working with the kids at my church, enjoying my husband's gourmet cooking, and hanging with my many writer friends. Of course, I love to read. I’m still crazy about words and stories and hope to write at least a hundred books in my lifetime. And, yes, verbs are the key to life. My favorites? Love. Work. Believe.

xoxo

James: 7 Brides For 7 Brothers

By Roxanne St. Claire

Multibillionaire and hedgefund manager, James Brannigan & Kyra Summers, American Tour Liaison for a tiny but award-winning Italian winery "Villa Pietro" on the breathtaking Amalfi Coast, set the pages ablaze like the sun setting over the beautiful Mediterranean Sea in this sixth installment of the Brannigan brothers, "7 Brides For 7 Brothers". However, unlike some series, these stories can be read as complete stand-alones, which I did with "James" and was completely carried away from beginning to end.

James is a devastatingly handsome man who is ALWAYS in control, never taking risks, cold-hearted and totally ruthless in business. He is the oldest of seven brothers who had to step up and basically raise his six younger brothers after the sudden and tragic loss of his mother at the young age of twelve when his father shut down, becoming completely immersed in work to deal with the loss and grief of losing his young wife.

Kyra's his complete opposite! An American beauty and completely free spirit, radiating warmth everywhere she goes, having traveled to over 50 countries, moving around her entire life as an only child raised by nannies with an absentee, workaholic mother and very little time spent with a divorced father who remarried when she was very little and started up another family. Kyra's greatest longing her entire life has always been the love and stability of a true family.

As part of Kyra's travels, she knew the second she stumbled upon Villa Pietro that this was absolute heaven. But it was the family of Sebastiani's with whom she truly fell in love that took her in as one of their own where she became a part of their close-knit, loving Italian family. She will do almost anything to save the family and the winery she loves, their life and home for over half a century.

James and his six brothers have each been given "something" as a part of their father's legacy when he passed away eight months ago with no explanation as to why they were given their particular legacy chosen especially for them. James was given this winery to which he has zero interest other than a quick sale to make a profit and complete confusion as to why his father would've given this to him due to having no interest in wine whatsoever, and further no clue his father even owned the winery. It is a complete mystery to him.

In trying to discover the meaning behind his father's gift, he travels to the Amalfi Coast to learn more about the small, mysterious winery while negotiating it's sale where he meets the unstoppable force who nearly takes his breath away, Kyra Summers. But there's so much more to this story than one might assume and as the story unfolds I was completely hooked finding myself needing to know what is was that brought James' father to purchase this magical place never to return. And as the unstoppable force that is Kyra meets the immovable object that is James, the friction alone is enough to ignite the entire Almalfi Coast!

Now I can't wait to read the next book in the series and catch up with the other brother's stories! You don't want miss the fun, romance and mystery that is James & Kyra's story in "7 Brides For 7 Brothers"!

I received an ARC for an honest review. I loved James, by Roxanne St. Claire. Roxanne delivered another wonderful book. I loved the characters in this book and the setting was amazing I have never been to Italy, but felt that I was there with Kyra and James walking through Positano. The story begins with seven bachelor brothers whose father has just passed away leaving each one a unique "legacy" that they must fulfill before the remainder of his estate will be divided. James is the oldest of the seven sons and runs his own hedge fund business in New York. A vineyard in Positano, Italy is the legacy gift that his father has left for James. James has no idea why his father left him this vineyard that he never knew he owned, so he heads to Positano in search on the answers. His intention is to sell the vineyard for the best price and to head home as quickly as possible. That is until he meets Kyra Summers, whose role is to "get cozy" with James, even though Kyra believes that she is not James's type. Kyra is everything that James is not, she is carefree, fun and a burst of sunshine. James discovers that his father bought the vineyard for his mother as a birthday gift after vacationing with her in Positano. His mother was killed in a car accident before her birthday and James's father never returned to the vineyard after her death. James being the oldest took over the role of head of the house in her absence. He started to believe that women don't stay and this followed him into his adult life. Kyra was raised by a single mother, who was a workaholic. She was a closer and they never stayed anywhere for very long. James's work ethic reminds her so much of her mother. Kyra found a home in Positano, after travelling the world. Never settling any place for very long. After being welcomed by the Sebastianis, Positano became the place that Kyra decided to call home. She lives with Annamarie, the matriarch of the Sebastianis, the family who runs the vineyard. Kyra became part of this large Italian family whose motto is "family is everything". James and Kyra spend lots of time together, Kyra offers to be his tour guide to show him the area and ride him around the narrow Italian streets on her Vespa. James starts to have "fun", begins to let lose and not let his work control his life. James discovers so much about his parents that he did not know. He comes to realize why his father left him the vineyard and decides not to sell it. Romance blooms between James and Kyra. James has planned a romantic day for Kyra. Then the unthinkable happens. Roxanne is great with her plot twists and I definitely did not see this one coming, what a surprise. Everything works out in the end, including plans for a wedding in Positano in October after the harvest.

James Brannigan is a billionaire who runs a hedge fund now, but when James was only 12 his mother passed away and he helped his father look after his six younger brother because his father threw himself into his business after the loss of his wife to fill the void. When James got older his father showed him the value of working hard to become successful in business and this is all James has ever done - he does not have time for romance, holidays and love.

Kyra Summers grew up with a ruthless mother, who also loved to work, work, work so Kyra always felt alone in her life, so when she came of age and had the chance she began to travel the world and amongst her travels she found a little winery in Positano and fell in love with it and the family running it so she decided to stay.

When James's dad passed away he left James the winery on the Amalfi Coast of Italy, (he also left his brothers a legacy too and they all have their own stories), with what had recently happened to some of his brothers James decides to take a trip to his winery with the intentions of selling it and making a profit because money is the bottom line or so he thought until he met the bubbly woman called Kyra.

Kyra when she meets James tells him she is there to take him out to dinner, James thinks Kyra works for the hotel and does not know why but he says yes, what James did not know due to a lack in communication from his secretary is that the dinner is at the winery because the family are eager to meet the new owner. James did not know why he said yes to dinner with this woman until he realises that he is attracted to Kyra, This is unusual because always goes for the cold polished ones and Kyra is like the fizz in your bottle of champagne - full of energy and sunshine.

When James realises the mistake that has been made he still finally agrees to go with Kyra and this is the start of finding the real man inside of the business mans body.

This is a great story with the ups and downs, twist and turns of a romance that I have become to look forward to from Roxanne St Claire, she weaves a great plot and the story draws you in. There are misunderstandings in this book and you feel for the characters, as they are well thought out and feel real to you, I just loved all of them. The story is about family values, misunderstandings, trust, love, and realisation that money is not everything. I now can not wait to check out all the other brothers stories in this series (written by different authors) because if they are written half as well as this book then they will definitely be worth it.

James is book six in the 7 Brides for 7 Brothers Series written by one of my favorite authors, Roxanne St. Claire.

James is the oldest of the Brannigan brothers. After his mom died, he took on the role of taking care of his six younger brothers while his dad, devastated by his wife's death, threw himself into his job spending very little time with his growing boys. After he died, he left a legacy in some form to each of his sons. It was up to them to find the reasons behind his gifts. James inherited a small, family-owned winery in Positano, Italy that neither he nor any of his brothers knew their dad owned. As a hedge fund manager, James looked at it as a way to make money by selling it. Already having lined up a buyer, he decided to spend a day or two in Italy to see it for himself. As he came to realize his father's intention, what he learned would forever change his life.

Kyra Summers is a free-spirited young woman who never stayed in one place until she arrived in Positano. She fell in love with the village and quickly realized this is where she wanted to be. She was welcomed into the close-knit Sebastiani family and being an American, she was the best person to take on the tour guide position for the mostly American visitors. It had been nearly twenty-five years since James' father visited the winery and when the family heard the new owner was coming, they felt Kyra would be the best choice to “cozy up” to him and find out what his intentions were. Things did not go as planned. He was cold and arrogant but yet, oh so attractive. But, she knew from her research she was not 'his type'. So cozy up she did and what she found out could be devastating for the family she loves.

I have yet to read the previous books to this one, all written by different authors, but if they're anything like this one, the reader won't be able to put them down. I plan to find out soon. Roxanne's descriptive writing makes the reader feel they are right there in Italy experiencing the same things as the characters. James was chock full of twists and turns and 'I did not see that coming' moments. It also brought its share of tears. Each book is a stand-alone and I would highly recommend James for sure. Whether the reader starts with him or not, you won't be disappointed.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this book. Colin, the patriarch of the Brannigan family, died eight months earlier, after an illness he kept from his seven sons. Though he tied up his billions in a trust for five years, he left each of his sons unique legacies. James received ownership of a tiny winery on the Amalfi coast of Italy, a bequest that left him thoroughly confused. He never knew his dad owned a winery, and running a hedge fund is not conducive to winemaking. Besides, James doesn't drink wine or anything alcoholic because it can lead to a loss of control. The best thing he can do is unload it fast and get back to what he does best. With an offer already in hand, James heads to Italy to check the place out before signing on the dotted line. He doesn't expect to get blindsided by Kyra, the pretty and bubbly tourist liaison for the winery.

Kyra toured the winery during her world travels and never left. After moving from place to place for most of her life, something about Positano made her want to put down roots. She was embraced by the Sebastiani family who quickly made her feel like one of them. When they hear that the new owner is coming to visit, Kyra is determined to find out his intentions. She'll do anything to help her family.

I loved the development of the relationship between James and Kyra. It got off to a slightly rough start as laser-focused, business-only James was confronted by bright and cheerful Kyra, who refuses to be deterred by James's cold demeanor. I laughed out loud at Kyra's success at rolling right over James's attempts to avoid going with her, then at his reaction to riding the Vespa. James realized from the very beginning that Kyra was going to be trouble for him, and he was right. There was no denying the attraction between them, but worse than that was the way she got past his walls.

Both James and Kyra were raised by workaholic parents. James's dad buried his grief at his wife's death by immersing himself in work, leaving James to watch out for his younger brothers. It was Colin's influence that had James following in his footsteps, both in business and in choosing work to avoid his feelings. Kyra's mother was also a workaholic, leaving Kyra in the care of nannies most of the time. All Kyra wanted was her mother's attention, but all she got was watching her mother coldly destroy people's lives in the name of business. Instead of becoming like her mother, Kyra became the opposite. She left home at eighteen and traveled the world, getting to know people of all kinds, always in search of a sense of belonging.

It was so much fun to watch Kyra teach James how to relax and enjoy himself. The more time they spent together, the stronger the attraction became. They also developed a sense of trust in each other that enabled them to share painful parts of their pasts, and in that sharing began to heal. The attraction and trust deepened into stronger feelings. Kyra knew she was going to hurt when James left, but she couldn't stop what was happening. It took James longer to realize what he was feeling. I loved his moment of revelation and his determination to show Kyra the depth of his feelings. Who knew that stuffy old James had the capability for something so romantic? But fate threw them a curveball in the form of trouble at the winery. I ached for Kyra and her feelings of betrayal, and for James and his bewildered devastation. I loved the ending and how both James and Kyra found what they were looking for.

The winery itself was at the center of the story. In previous books we saw how James's father had his reasons for each bequest, each son learning something about himself and his parents along the way. At the beginning James was closed off and determined to sell the winery at the earliest opportunity. But as he got to know the Sebastiani family, the rush to sell began to fade and thoughts of keeping it began to grow. When the matriarch of the family shared her memories of James's parents and their visit there, it brought back memories of happier times. I loved seeing the effect it had on James and laughed a little at the confusion it caused him. His conversations with assorted brothers only confused him more. At the same time, James began to question some things about the winery itself. I had my suspicions long before James did and wondered if he would figure it out. I loved when the light went on and James realized what was going on. His reaction was fantastic and I loved seeing the combination of the old ruthless businessman James and the new and improved James with a heart. The confrontation at the hotel was great, followed by him riding to the rescue (on a Vespa, by himself, with no helmet!) at the winery. That scene was exciting and heartwarming and perfectly showcased the new James. The epilogue was great, and I loved the conversation with Finn, the last man standing in the Brannigan family - for now.

Loved this one! One of my favorites in this collaborative series.

After the death of their father, the seven Brannigan brothers are each left a legacy by their father. James was left a vineyard in Italy. He's a hedge fund manager not a vintner so why would his father leave him a winery?? With a plan to sell the place as quick as possible James finds himself in the Italian countryside on his way to see this winery for himself and get the info needed to assess the value and sell it.

Kyra Summers has lived all over the world. Never staying in one place long until this wonderful little winery on the Amalfi coast of Italy. She's come to love not only the place but the family who runs the place and has enveloped her as one of their own. Now they are counting on her to convince the American not to sell the winery to some large company. Easier said than done. James Brannigan is all business all the time. Can Kyra convince him to slow down and smell the lemons??

You definitely want to read this one and find out. I highly recommend it.

The 7 Brides for 7 Brothers series has masterpiece written all over it. Not only does it spotlight a collage of great voices with it's variety of authors ranging from Ruth Cardello, Roxanne St. Claire, Melody Anne and Barbara Freethy. It encapsulates wise life lessons told in a fresh way and with a great deal of heart. With James the takeaway lesson is not to let life pass by, enjoy every precious moment. It takes a meddling father, an unwanted winery and a die hard free spirit to show this hard nose businessman the error of his ways. Ms. St. Claire adds her voice to an already stellar love story, the love of a father for his sons. Though not your average family, the enigmatic Brannigans are a captivating bunch.

Italy, wine, romance and a sexy billionaire! Yummy !

I recently binge read the entire 7 Brides for 7 Brothers series while on vacation in Hawaii. To me the island of Kauai is one of the most romantic places in the world. So, what better place to read the collaborative romance series of some of my favorite romance authors! I know some of you might be thinking you could find other things to do then read when in Hawaii. But really between the river cruise, and sunset catamaran cruise, snorkeling and trekking through beautiful tropical gardens, there is plenty of time to eat breakfast on your patio, sit at the three tier pool at your resort or just soak up the sun on a not so crowed beach on the island. This romance series by Roxanne St. Clair, Joanne Ross, Christine Ridgeway, Melody Anne ,Ruth Cardello, Barbara Freethy and Lynne Raye Harris, is the perfect island vacation companion (second to my spouse of course!) I admit I might have skipped a few sunsets just to keep reading, much to my brother and sister-in-law’s dismay! After all this was supposed to be a romantic couple get away. Oh but no one writes melt your heart romance like these authors!
I first encountered this series in one of the authors’ newsletters and was immediately intrigued and ordered the entire series right then. It is available on Kindle Unlimited and can be read with your subscription but as my Unlimited was full at the time, I purchased the whole set. Something I rarely do! However, I was anxious to have this set for my vacation.
Two things attracted me to this series. First, 7 Brides for 7 Brothers has to be one of my all- time favorite musicals. My millennial uber-feminist daughter just can’t see the romance in being snowed in on a mountain with 7 men who pretty much kidnapped you in order to “trap” you into marriage! But having been snowed in with her very sexy mountain man father, I can see how love can blossom in some not so great circumstances. I couldn’t resist seeing how these authors handled 7 ultra-independent billionaire brothers finding their true loves in some less than perfect situations.
The second factor that I found interesting was the idea of seven authors collaborating on one series. This is not an anthology of these romance writers novellas or short stories. This is a collaboration where these authors with different writing styles, characterization and romance genres (contemporary, suspense, chick lit etc.) agreed to a specific plot line , characters and how settings, personalities were all going to fit together. I have had personal experience with collaborating with other authors on a novel and the result was less than satisfactory. Of course, I was a young Honors English student and the collaboration was on a school assignment, so my income and career were not at stake. Still it requires a lot of time, interaction and communication between authors. In order to get the plot to be consistent, the interactions between different characters (the one you are responsible for and the others your fellow authors are writing about)to flow seamlessly and the timing between chapters correct can take months of meetings, conference calls, endless sleepless nights and a few strained friendships to get it right. These ladies not only did that flawlessly, they have gone on to collaborate again in 7 Brides for 7 soldiers. And if you can believe their newsletters, they still admire each other and are willing to continue to work together! My own experience with collaboration left me traumatized and afraid to write for years!
The novels are complete with no cliffhangers and thus could be read as stand- alone. I think it is best if you read the series in order starting with book 1 Luke by Barbara Freethy and ending with Finn by JoAnn Ross. Each of the 7 Brannigan Brothers has his own personality, lifestyle and own brand of sexy manhood. Yet, they all share love for their siblings and a brokenness from an early family tragedy. As I said the flawless consistency in the interactions between the brothers from book to book as well as a smooth timeline that is adhered to by each author is amazing. There is more than enough steamy romance in each book without overwhelming the storyline. Each brother comes to terms with his roadblocks to love in a different way and a different setting from Yosemite to Italy. I can see how this allowed each writers’ special style to be showcased. The descriptions of the settings made the books come to life for me and made me feel like I was experiencing the scene with the characters.
Being able to get lost in a book, leaving my own fears, problems and insecurities behind even for an hour or so a day was heavenly. That feeling of timelessness, escape from reality, is to me a mark of great romantic fiction. The authors of 7 Brides for 7 Brothers achieve that in this series! Don't stop now! James' baby brother gets his story in last book of series.

For ruthless billionaire, James Brannigan, life is all business and all about the bottom line. He spends his waking hours - and probably some of his sleeping ones - figuring out ways to increase his financial empire. He isn't interested in marriage, a family, or love and he certainly has no interest in owning a small family-run vineyard and winery in Italy. He can't figure out why his late father - who was just as much a workaholic as James - bequeathed it to him. Good thing James is an expert at selling off companies. He'll fly to Positano, assess the Villa Pietro winery, dump it and be back in New York City before you can say Wall Street. You know what they say about best laid plans...

Kyra Summers is all too familiar with corporate sharks. She grew up with one after all. As soon as she was old enough, Kyra left home and traveled the world, searching for a place to put down roots. She's found it in the hills above Positano, at the Villa Pietro, and with the exuberant and loving Italian family that tends the vineyard and manages the winery. Kyra isn't about to let an unfeeling corporate autocrat take it all away. This charming ray of sunshine is determined to show James Brannigan just what life has to offer outside of his glass and steel, all business life. If she can make him fall in love with the winery then she has a chance of convincing him to keep it. But what's she to do when Mr. "I'm all business" starts to discover his fun-loving, sexy side? The winery won't be the only thing at risk. Kyra's heart will be right there with it.

I have to admit that while reading the earlier books in this series, I found James to be the least appealing of the seven Brannigan brothers. Leave it to Roxanne St. Claire to turn him into my favorite! There's much more to him than I had anticipated. St. Claire slowly peels back the layers to expose the man underneath whose life direction had been unknowingly influenced by a tragedy in his youth and I was with him every step of the way as he opens his heart to the possibilities of a different life. Then she gives him the perfect partner in Kyra, a woman to infuse both his life and his heart with love, light, and fun, all of which have been missing from his life for a very long time. And, for the cherry on this delicious sundae, St. Claire sets her story amid the vivid backdrop of the beautiful Amalfi Coast. If this book doesn't make you yearn for love, laughter, good wine, and a holiday in Italy, I don't know what will!

7 Brides for 7 Brothers is a series written about the 7 Brannigan brothers who are devastatingly handsome, charming and swoon-worthy! Each book is written by a different author and is written about a different brother.

Colin Brannigan, the patriarch of the Brannigan clan, has died and each of the 7 siblings has received an unexpected “gift” from him. James is the oldest of the brothers and was forced to grow up quickly when his father withdrew into his work after the death of his wife. James become the surrogate father to the younger boys and as an adult, is used to be in control and has a take charge attitude. He is in Italy to check out the winery and vineyards that he was bequeathed by his father… with no intention of keeping the gift.. he just wants to know what it is worth so he can sell it.

Kyra Summers is a self-appointed guest liaison for the winery. She inserts herself into James life while he is in Italy and he is not sure how to react. She is bright and cheerful and has a full of sunshine attitude about life. She sets a goal to break down James’ gruff business like demeanor and to teach him to have FUN!

As they spend time together, secrets are revealed and James begins to realize why his father chose this particular gift for him. This is a fun book and even though it is part of the series, it can be read as a standalone. The relationship between stiff buttoned -up James and bright carefree Kyra (aka Lemondrop) is refreshing and fun to watch develop.

Enjoy your visit to Italy.. I know I did!

James is the sixth book in a new contemporary romance series called 7 Brides for 7 Brothers. Each book is written by a different author which is a neat marketing idea. The stories all center around an inheritance from their recently deceased workaholic father with each of the brother's "gifts" leading to a happily ever after romance. Each book can stand alone but it will be fun to read the other stories.
James Brannigan is the oldest of the seven brothers. He is very much like his father -- a workaholic business man -- who has no idea why his father left him a winery in Italy and is determined to sell it and get back to work. When he meets the free-spirited Kyra Summers, who works at the winery, he is instantly smitten despite them being so opposite. Of course, neither know the true intentions of the other person. Kyra is just as determined as James...but she wants to save the winery.
The two dance around their mutual attraction and soon the passion is simmering between them. I enjoyed this book. With the story set in Italy, it was like being on a tour of the wine region. The characters, even the secondary ones, are likable and well developed. It is a light and fun read. I enjoyed the book.
I was given a copy for a fair and honest review.

Book number 6 in the series brings us to James...the eldest, workaholic, control freak, non-risk taker, casual relationships-only brother. Every legacy so far has changed each brother's life dramatically and James doesn't like change. His legacy from his father is a winery in Italy and he visits with every intention of selling it immediately at a hefty profit. Then he meets Kyra - she is the guest liaison for the family winery...but they are more than employers to her, they are her family of the heart. Obviously they are at the opposite end of the situation, but strongly attracted to each other even through she is totally not his type. My one complaint about the book was that I did get quite tired of the adjectives used to describe Kyra - bubbly, sunshine, adorable, perky, blah, blah, blah - the sweetness factor was quite nauseating, but finally the author toned it down and I was able to get reinvested in the story. It turns out that James' mother and father had fond memories of the winery and his father had actually bought it for a birthday present for his wife, but tragically she died before he could give it to her. This author included more detail about James' mother in this book which drove the story to how James dealt with his grief and learned how to live life. Kyra - I guess I liked her as a character and totally understand that she was perfect for James, but the family asking her to cozy up to him go get info just didn't sit right with me, especially after she realizes she has feelings. The lush backdrop of Positano, Italy, certainly added an exotic flavor to the story and, wow, what a great climax to the story- never saw it coming!

James by Roxanne St. Claire is the sixth book in a fun new series (7 Brides for 7 Brothers). The books are all written by different authors and all are contemporary romances about the seven brothers and their seven brides. Each can be read alone, but then again why would you?

James as the oldest brother had to shoulder more tasks when his mom died. At the same time it allowed him more time with his father. James became a man who bought and sold companies and always focused on the bottom line. Until he inherited from his father a vineyard in Italy. James didn’t know what to think about the vineyard and about Kyra Summers. Kyra was the liaison between the family that ran the vineyard and the tourists. She was the one who managed to keep him occupied and busy on vacation, while at the same time trying to figure out what he was going to do to the family and the vineyard. The problem is the longer James stays there the more unsure he becomes about everything except Kyra.

James by Roxanne St. Claire was a fun read. This particular book might be one of my favorites in the series.

James Brannigan has always been busy making extreme amounts of money and has never taken the time to just have fun. He basically spent his youth helping his father raise his six brothers after the death of his mother. That's when he learned the workaholic mentality from his father. So when his father dies and leaves him a winery in Italy, James is baffled. Being the business man that he is James decides to make the trip to Italy to access what he needs to do to get rid of this winery.

Kyra Summers is a free-spirit who loves life and her time at the winery in Positana. This is the first place she has stayed long enough to put down roots and feel like she is part of a family. But now the winery's new owner arrives with plans that may threaten everything she loves. Kyra will do whatever it takes to save this place she calls home and the people she considers to be her family.

Kyra is not like any woman James has ever met. He finds himself drawn to her -- wanting to relax and do things he never did before. Kyra falls hard for James and enjoys helping him to discover what having fun is. Will James finally learn the lesson his father left for him before it's too late?

The sixth book in the series is by a favorite author of mine. This story did not disappoint. James is by far the most serious of the brothers. When their mom died and their dad submerged himself in business James, as the oldest, became the one to take care of everyone else and provide updates to his dad. He probably had the most interaction with his dad but did not really know him any better than the other brothers. James is all about control. And, all he does is work. He plans to go to Italy to check out the winery he inherited to make sure he's getting the best deal in the sale he's lined up. Kyra Summers grew up with a mom who closed down business for the almighty dollar. She felt no love and moved around to every new job her mom got. She's finally found a place that feels like home at the winery. She and James get cozy. It was great to see James grow and learn about himself. I did shed a few tears but loved the ending.

BEAUTIFUL STORY!!!😊

As usual Roxanne St. Claire knocked it out of the ballpark!!!! I had bought this book a while back and never read it...... I was looking at her Dogmother/Dogfather series in my book library to re-read something that I knew was a sure winner when I saw this "gem" that I had forgotten I had!!! What a wonderful treat this book was!!! It had everything you could want... It was so heartwarming, sweet, sexy, romantic and with a touch of suspense!!! The characters were all so endearing and relatable. We all have hidden long ago events that guide our actions as adults and James and Kyra 's were a reminder of that fact! This was a beautiful love story that I could not put down until I finished it..... The story was cute, unique, and very moving.... The "family" was loving and kind... The whole book was perfection and I highly recommend it!!!!!😁

Least likely to.....

James, the eldest Brannigan brother is the least likely to stop working, have fun, lose control or fall in love. At least until he meets Kyra. James, who does not drink alcohol inherits a vineyard in Italy, so it is only natural that he wants to sell it. Kyra is a bubbly happy go lucky American that has been "adopted" by the family that runs the vineyard. It was humorous watching James get overwhelmed and discombobulated in dealing with Kyra. Ultimately he realizes he has followed the same path as his other brothers and fallen in love. He finally believes family is everything.

As the oldest brother, Perfect James had to cut his childhood short and turn his time with his father into a boardroom meeting once his mother passes away when he was 12. Growing up he managed to take care of everyone and understood that money and business were where happiness came from. But when his father leaves him a winery in Italy, James' first instinct is to sell it for profit and walk away, but it is not until the bubbly and bright Kyra comes across his path does James figure out that family is everything and that love is more important than a profit. Loved these characters, loved the plot twist at the end and a great addition to the series.

Another well written story in this series!

There are 7 sexy Brannigan brothers and James is the oldest and a multimillionaire. He is way too commited to his career and very hard to pull from work. He has inherited a winery in Italy and he visits with the idea of selling until he meets the sweet sexy Kyra. She is sweet and fun loving and he is stubborn and only wants to sell.
You will get engrossed in this story and won't put it down until the end.

Heartwarming

A delightful story by one of my favorite authors. I’m enjoying this series very much. It’s amazing how Colin Brannigan knew what each of his sons really needed in their lives and had created these legacies many, many years ago. Too bad he couldn’t have actually been there for each of them as they were growing up, like he had been before his wife died. James was the son who was most like his father and who needed to learn to enjoy life more than work.

Love on the Amalfi coast

James is the cold hearted businessman of the dreamy Brannigan clan. Kyra is unlike any women he's spent time with and meeting her upends his ordered, lonely existence. Kyra thought she'd found the family she always wanted in the Sebastianis and their vineyard Villa Pietro. As she breaks down the walls around his heart James must decide if he'll choose love over money. A quick, steamy read that will make you laugh and cry.

I want to go to Positano

The Amalfi coast must be a magical place to turn a hedge fund manager into a head over heels lover. Ms. St. Claire works her magic as always with this tale of family ties. James, brother number six of seven, falls under the spell of lively and lovely Kyra, who helps him remember the joys of his early childhood and the reasons 'Family is everything.'

The oldest

James was the oldest. He was the one who picked up the pieces after his mom died. He was turning into his father. His legacy from his dad was a winery in Italy. All along he was planning to sell the winery till he met Kyra. She was his ambassador of fun. She was determined to loosen him. I loved the give and take between them. Another Brannigan bites the dust.

Loved this sweet sexy character driven story.

A touching tale of a damaged couple rebuilding trust. Amid the beautiful scenery of the Amalfi coast Kyra and James open their hearts shedding the scales built in their youth. The romance is a slow burn, but the witty banter and Sebastiani family dynamics keep us entertained and enthralled.
