I am thoroughly enjoying catching up on all of this author's available books! This story had yet another fantastic hero.
Cyrus left home to make something of himself. Now he has more money than he ever could hope for, but he still feels like something is missing.
Bertie is trying to make a go of her business while dealing with her family. Her brother has gotten them into yet another bind. She doesn't want Cyrus' help but he isn't one to take no for an answer.
-hot persistent devoted alpha
-tough heroine (not too alpha, but she does deal with gators on a daily basis)
-some pushing away by heroine
-not even a mention of ow/om
-no cheating
-no epilogue (which is what brought it down a star)
This is the first book in this series. I hope we get the same great alphas as we did in this story. This lacks an epilogue which stinks!

**3.5 Gator Rolling Stars**
This is a quick and hot insta-love story between Bertie, owner of a gator farm and Cyrus a millionaire who grew up in the swamps but left to become more. They become "acquainted" during a road trip to find her brother.
I enjoyed it. I like this author's writing and I look forward to more in this series. Cyrus does have several brothers and sisters ;)

This is a quick read by one of my new favorite authors Esther E. Schmidt. I have loved everything of hers that I've read so far and am anxiously awaiting her upcoming releases.
This is a short read about Cyrus/Mudfoot and Bertie/Ma Poupee. They meet by chance one day and Bertie's brother is in trouble. Cyrus comes from the swamp but left a few years ago and made himself a ton of money. He is in the position to help Bertie and her brother and sees this as his way to get to know her.
On their roadtrip they fall in love fast. The connection they share is unlike anything they have ever known. There's a little drama at the end but we get their HEA. The other stories will be about their siblings. Can't wait to read more about the swamp people.

Cyrus left his family to reach his goals, now he is back trying to figure out what is next in his life. It only takes a second before he sees Bertie and he is entranced. The spitfire of pure woman wants nothing to do with him but he has a plan. Once he wins Berties heart though he has to tell her the truth, which could end with him losing her altogether.
Bertie is a pistol and she tries as hard as she can to push Cyrus away. Liked Cyrus, he is a take no prisoners type of guy. Liked all the side characters and thought this was pure fun.

A fun, sexy, hot read! Cyrus has his hands full with Dynamo Bertie! She is a hot headed mouth pistol, that's for sure! When they find themselves on a road trip, Bertie must decide if she wants to let lose or keep away from Cyrus.

Cyrus has a different feeling, then others Esther's works. Though it still has Esther's touch. The story made me smile. I was entertained by Bertie and Cyrus banter. I enjoyed alpha side of the hero. I'm looking forward to see, what next book in this series will bring.

Different but good

This was so different from anything I've read in along time and I gotta say I absolutely loved it . I loved the main characters Cyrus and Bertie the chemistry and the back and forth banter between them is off the charts. Cyrus comes across as an arrogant son of a bitch at the start but as the story progresses you'll get to a complete different side to him.
Bertie is a stubborn sassy and a no holds bar type of female who does what's need to be done to take care of herself and her family. This was a 4.5 star read for me while it is a quick read it was still a great. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

This Author is new to me. I think I need to get use to her writing. Or maybe it's just in this Series. But I'm from South Africa I can't understand Swamp Talk.

I never feel like I can rate Esther's books because they are so close to my heart. But this one was different for her. Out of her comfort zone and she still rocked it.
Swampheads Cyrus is definitely different than her other series but I can't wait to see what she does with the next sibling!! <3 Cyrus and Bertie <3

A nice fast read.
This book was a nice, fast read that had all the components in it. Love at first sight, good love, deception, regret and then the fix, HEA. The characters are interesting and I'm sure the rest of the series will be as good.

Sometimes you just need an enjoyable quick read - this fits the bill

It's insta everything and I loved it - especially the "non swearing"! This author is quickly becoming a go to for me as each book offers something a little different and I'm never bored.

This book was so bad! 2 Stars is really a gift for it. These people were so ignorant I was cringing through most of it. I'm glad this was an Amazon freebie.

Cyrus was a quite different book compared to the previous ones I've read by Esther E. Schmidt. It was Bertie and Cyrus story and it was enjoyable and sweet in a weird way!

Only short but I loved this story of love and croc wrestling. Cyrus has been away from the swamps of his real home, he grew up there. Coming home unexpected events happen to change everything, he meets Bertie. The croc farm that she runs has hit some snags, her brother is causing problems and her Pa isn't much help either. I love the notion of almost instant love and a chemistry that is almost like an electric shock to the system, being swept away by it and being consumed. Cyrus is a strong, big, independent guy who is feeling a bit jaded with life and just wants to come back to his roots. I loved seeing this macho guy show his vulnerable side and not be afraid to do so. Bertie has had to be the strong one in her family, losing her mum hit hard. She is carrying on with her mothers dream, they both love crocs and had worked side by side, now scarred by one of the biggest she carry's on with some help. Because this story is only short you don't get the long drawn out get to know you, it doesn't really give you a lot of background or a chance to get to know or meet the other characters around them, but it is a sweet loving romance. I cant wait for the rest of this series and though it is short I still feel it is worth buying and reading, it is ideal for reading during a flight or weekend break. There is no cliff hanger so although the series is based around Cyrus family it can be read alone, so you do not have to be tied to reading them all unless you want to.

This is the first book in this series. I picked this book up without even reading the synopsis that is how much I love Esther. This is different from her two MC series. This is the first in a series of instalove novellas. Cyrus left home with the goal of being a millionaire before he turned thirty and he accomplished this goal but now he doesn’t know what to do and feels lost, adrift. So he heads home to get back to his roots and hopefully figure out what he wants to do next. Bertie doesn’t need a man she doesn’t need anyone really but especially not a man. Every guy around her is a moron. She has her own business doing what she loves and doesn’t need anyone trying to tell her what to do and not to do. Cyrus meets Bertie when he arrives home and goes to the house he bought. Bertie has no idea that her Pa’s house has been sold and no intention it going through. She finds out that her brother had something to do with it and now needs to find a way to undo it. This book is funny, sweet and has a hint of deceit. Will Cyrus be able to find a way to get Bertie to give him a chance? I love all of Esther’s other books and loved this one just as much. Esther has a way of weaving a wonderful world with fantastic characters. She is a wonderful author and I can’t wait for the next book in this series.

This is definitely a real change from Esther's MC books, but I still enjoyed it! It is definitely still Esther's quality of writing in the story-line. It flowed nicely and wasn't choppy or didn't stall out. The characters were very well developed which is not always accomplished in a shorter story like this, but I think Esther did a very nice job and definitely succeeded in making it work. She has the same strong bones in this story, she just added different condiments! It may be confusing for those that have never experienced the ways of life and the dialog of those the reside in the swamps. So if the dialog or some of the words confuse you, just look them up. But I personally think that the story is written well enough that you can pretty much guess what some of the words or phrases are just by reading it. I certainly look forward to reading more from Esther in this series as well as her MC series!

This was a different read for me that anything I have read in a long time and I loved it. It is definitely different than any other Esther book but still just as good. the chemistry between Cyrus and Bertie is off the charts and the banter between them will have you rolling with laughter.
Although an insta-love book it was one that you cannot help but fall in love with as well. Bertie is stubborn, sassy, and doesn't know how to hold back when she has something to say. Cyrus is at a cross roads in his life after making billions when he left home he is now back trying to see what he is missing in his life. Once he sets his sight on Bertie he has his answer.

But this new series were a great surprise, they're very different from her other books and even though it is a series, each book is a standalone. This one is a fast pace novel, kind like love at first sight romance with two amazing leading characters, Cyrus "Mudfoot" and Bertie "Ma Poupee" when they meet by chance. The story is full of humor, playful and friendly banter, drama, great side characters and love. Will Bertie give Cyrus a chance? No Spoilers, go buy the book. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

I gave this 4 stars because I thought it was a nice fresh take on love, some people experience love at first sight and that's pretty much what happens here its cute sweet funny and very sexy! If your looking for an alpha male that's Cyrus hot and sexy to the core , want a strong sassy female this book has that too! Great story awesome characters, definitely worth reading!

I enjoyed reading this book! When I started this book I wasn't sure what to think. I love Schmidt's other books but swamps and not MC? I was very surprised with this book and can't wait to read more!

A great fun, fast, and enjoyable read! Cyrus is a macho, Louisiana, swamp man , Bertie a independent, smart, Louisiana, woman! Together they make a hot couple! Totally recommend!

Cyrus is book one of the swamp head series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. After achieving his goal in the city, Cyrus decides it is finally time to move home. Purchasing the best house in town, he things everything is going to go to plan. What he doesn’t expect is to fall in love with the daughter of the owner of the house he had been mistakenly sold. Taking advantage of a situation, he sets about making Bertie his but will it all go smoothly or will it be a bumpy ride? I liked Cyrus but I loved Bertie. She had a no nonsense attitude but I did get a hint of a soft side from her. She didn’t want to find love but she couldn’t stop herself from falling for Cyrus.
The chemistry between Bertie and Cyrus was clear to see and I liked them together, I just wish this book were a little longer.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read. I cannot wait to read more books from this series.

This is Cyrus's story and after leaving home to make something of his self he ends up doing it faster than he thought possible and it has him wanting something but what that is he is not too sure so he goes back home to the swamp to try an figure out what's next.
