Dancer-A. That's what they call me. I'm good at what I do, but my brother's best friend's, my bosses, don't seem to think I can handle what the other girl's can. Club Trace is the biggest of it's kind. So why aren't I good enough? They swore to my brother to protect me, and after his death, they have done just that. But the fact I have been in love with Chase Braxton, my brother's best friend since I was a little girl means I will, and have done anything he asks of me. He demands I don't dance privately, I obey. He demands I dance only on stage and don't strip completely, I obey. Doesn't he understand how it makes me feel? One night is all it takes, one tiny mistake and a huge misunderstanding to change my life forever. Nothing will ever be the same. Nothing. I run from Chase. I run from Jesse. I run from it all right into my worst nightmare. How will I ever make right what went wrong? Dancer-A is dead...
Although this book is the first book in the series, I will admit that I read book four first. I liked parts of this story but other parts I spent irritated at the hero. I liked Emilee. I liked her and Chase as a couple but I thought Chase was a douche for 85% of the story. I was angered by Chase’s reaction to meeting Aiden. My heart hurt for Aiden, he was so excited to meet his daddy and then saw his daddy shout and be mean. My heart went out to Emilee after hearing all she had been through. When everything settled and was going well the evilness from her past had to turn up and ruin it. I was on the edge of my seat when Dalton got a hold of Callie. Callie was absolutely selfless and I cannot wait to read her story. I absolutely adore Aiden! He is so cute! I wanted more of him, I wanted more scenes with him in. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and an enjoyable read.
Emilee is a dancer at an exclusive owned by her late older brothers best friends, Chase and Jesse. Emilee has been in love with Chase for years but he doesn’t see her, he sees his best friends baby sister. When Jesse plays matchmaker and gives Chase the push he needs, Emilee finally gets her man. Over two years later and Emilee is living in a small town and is a single mother to her baby boy Aiden. When Jesse comes to visit he convinces Emilee its time to tell Chase about his son. When Chase learns about Aiden he is angry and makes it known. As Chase spends more time at Emilee’s house getting to know his son, he makes his love for her known. What Chase doesn’t know is that Emilee has had something horrific happen to her more than once in the past. She fears of his reaction but what will happen when an evil face from her past comes calling?
3.5 stars Emilee has wanted Chase forever, but he was her much older brothers best friend....and he'd promised Aiden he would take care of his little sister. There is a age difference between our H/h but it's not "icky" Emilee's age comes in to play with an immature decision she makes instead of talking to Chase. What follows after effects both their lives.
This was one of my favorite type of stories with a second chance and a secret. While good, I did notice a couple of editing issues and the story could have been fleshed out just a bit more. I will definitely read more of the series.
