Can Spring Be Far Behind

Rate this book
Based in the hustle bustle of Mumbai, Can Spring Be Far Behind revolves around Chris D’Souza, a 14-year-old boy who was left alone to battle the world, when his mother succumbed to cancer. He had no one to depend on but his best friend Rishi Malhotra, who loved Chris like a sibling and therefore decided to gift Chris, the most precious thing in the world – A FAMILY.

“Mom understood his state of mind. She knew her touch had comforted Chris but at the same time triggered his feeling of emptiness. She held his innocent face in her hands and said. “Welcome home son!”

For a moment, I felt as if I was fantasizing about two mythological characters that I had heard about since childhood. Lord Krishna and his mother Yashoda. Who knew that my fantasy was about to become reality soon. To Mom Chris was her naughty Krishna but did this Mother Yashoda receive her due?”

Can Spring Be Far BehindCan Spring Be Far Behind by Shelly Gupta is a magical weave of words around innocence, relations, unconditional love and resilience.
The emotional journey starts with the author's vivid description of her maiden visit to London, her friendly encounter with the crew and the bond which she shares with her family.
As the story moves one can relate and seem to be living each word. .The whole story revolves around close knit family, strong value system, sharing and compassion for humanity.
The mother of the family is shown as a woman of substance who is ready to do anything for her children and their happiness.
Shelly beautifully carves each character in the story making it real with her creative imagination.
Must read to unfold the mystery of relations.

It's really boring. I just could not decipher what the author wanted to convey.

Spoilers ahead: -
I wished Chris would come back but he didn't. And the story didn't have great movement.
Just dragged the whole story.

Hey, Shelly 1st of all let me congratulate you and thank you for this amazing story which is filled with love, emotions, feelings, happiness and sadness. This is a story of the selfless love of a mother and it is a natural phenomenon in the mother that she never expects anything from her kids.So true is the saying - God could not reach to each devotee that is why he made the mother.
In this story, mother succeeded in playing the role of Yashoda but alas Chris failed in becoming Krishna. And well said in your last chapter - "Do your best and leave the rest" !!
I really loved it shelly, and I must say that you are a wonderful author and may you climb the ladder of success. My best wishes are always with you dear.. :)
Good Luck & God Bless !!
