About the author

Kathryn Jane

Award winning author, Kathryn Jane is known for rising to a challenge, whether it’s getting her pilot’s license, facing down cancer, training cantankerous horses or writing that first novel.

Her personal tales of adventure include misplacing a Thoroughbred filly in a 747 at thirty thousand feet, planning the evacuation of over fifty horses in the path of an approaching wildfire, and being volunteered to represent her peers in a public speaking venue.

In the novels she writes, Kathryn keeps her heroines busy surviving life threatening adventures, or soul searching personal journeys, while they are doggedly determined to not fall in love with men they really don’t need. Think modern-day knights, and reluctant, self-sufficient damsels.

In spite of ridiculous odds, every story has a happy ending, with both halves of a couple coming to terms with love and all its complications.

Kathryn lives in a cozy cottage in the Pacific Northwest with a pair of tuxedo cats, and a faithful dog to keep the man of her dreams company as she writes page turning, steamy tales of love, mystery, and adventure.

CATS by Kathryn Jane
Heartwarming Furry-Tales Volume One
In a special place in a certain forest, the cats gather. Each day one of the ladies come with her bags full of food and water for all the feral cats. The pecking order and rules are laid down and the youngsters and new cats are taught them by those who've been around while. Also cats like Quark, who have crossed the rainbow bridge but are allowed to go back and forth to help those in the forest who need it.

Some of those gathered for the free food and water are kittens from the feral litters—others have been tossed from their warm homes by the humans they had thought would love them forever. And the ladies; they not only feed them but they help them in other ways. The special food in the boxes that go snap! Helping the poor mama's to not have more litters and giving each cat the choice for the easy life—or to come back to the forest.

Seven short furry-tales about different cats and kittens told from their point of views. Short stories that are fun and quick to read.

Heartwarming and more

Heartwarming furry-tales doesn't begin to describe this short story collection. There are six of them, telling the tails... er, tales of lost and feral cats and kittens as they try to get their happy endings. As the old saying goes, you'll laugh, you'll cry. Proceeds from this book are being donated by the author to the Tiny Kittens Society, a not for profit TNR cat rescue in Fort Langley, BC, Canada.

The short stories in this book are about feral cats living in a managed colony. Although there are heartwarming elements of the bonds of friendship among the community's residents and the dedication of the caretakers, the stories depict the real struggles of cats living in the wild. The statistics for these animals are grim, but the loving care of many generous humans does provide happy endings and hope.

While they are fictional, the cats and their stories are based on the real life residents of the Happy Forest in British Columbia which is cared for by the wonderful volunteers of the TinyKittens Society. Many thanks not only to them but to all those involved in TNR efforts throughout the world.

They will fill your heart to overflowing love with their furry tales!

The cats tell their stories vividly. They are not exactly the real ferals of TinyKittens, but they are based on the real ferals and strays that live in the forests and country areas that are near to where we all live. And also share the stories of those that feed, care for and rescue the feral and stray and dumped cats.

I’m officially a fan. I love the Happy Forest setting, Quark, and all the cats moving in and out through the stories. I wasn’t sure I should read this story yet. We lost our beloved Dude only two months ago and it’s been difficult to get past. But these stories filled me with so much hope and love that I was crying tears of happiness. The stories are well-written, the cats and kittens are characters I fell in love with, and it’s a high recommend from me.

Kathryn Jane loves cats (I know this first hand). She has a cat of her own and helps care for and socialise managed feral colonies near her home in Canada. Her books are filled with wonderful, heartwarming, stories about cats, some of whom are actual members of the feral communities she cares for. If you love cats, you really will love Kathryn's books.

this book was over way too fast and now I want the rest of the series. Having been a follower of TinyKittes since Evolene and Corsica, many of the cats were somewhat unfamiliar to me (though I am slowly becoming more familiar through my own research and by listing to chatters talk about their memories of these kitties), I found out about this series through the YouTube live stream chats. Now that I've finally gotten my hands on book one, I can honestly say that I wish it was longer and that I truly do want to get my hands on the rest of the series.
