My momma was born and raised in New Orleans. At the age of twenty, she met and fell in love with an Irishman named Patrick Riley Dwyer. Needless to say, the family was a bit taken aback by this as they hoped she would marry a family friend. It was a modern day arranged marriage kind of thing and my momma downright refused.
Being that my momma’s families were descendents of the original English speaking southerners, they wanted the family blood line to stay pure. They were wealthy and my father’s family was poor.
Despite attempts by my grandpapa to make Patrick leave and destroy the love between them, my parents married. They recently celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary.
I am one of six children born to Patrick and Lynn Dwyer. I am a combination of both Irish and a true southern belle. With a name like Dixie Lynn Dwyer it’s no wonder why people are curious about my name.
Just as my parents had a love story of their own, I grew up intrigued by the lifestyles of others. My imagination as well as my need to stray from the straight and narrow made me into the woman I am today.

It was pretty good mobster romance. I got into the story quick. Characters were interesting. And I'm curious enough to grab next book in the series.

I liked this story but I have to admit, it took me a little while to get into the story. I found parts of the story really slow and wanted to hurry them along slightly. I liked that Bella was determined to protect her family. Despite being in a scary and horrific situation, she was determined to keep her family safe.
I liked Major and Mateo’s but there weren’t enough of them for my liking. I wanted more of them. More scenes with them in and more scenes with them getting to know Bella.
I liked how determined Bella’s best friend, Adelina was to save Bella. She went out of her way and called favours in. She put herself and her secrets at risk to help save Bella.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and an enjoyable read. I cannot wait to read more books from this series.

I loved this story. I was swept into the story from the first page.
Bella was having a rough day when she caught the attention of the owner for her company. Soon she is being blackmailed by him to become his 'woman.' She doesn't want him but in order to protect her family, she will do anything. During a vacation with some friends, she meets Major and Mateus. They have an instant connection and for one week, she is going to experience as much as she can before going back to her hell. Major and Mateus are part of the Fiorre family and want to leave which is no part but they need to tap a successor. When Bella leaves abruptly and things back home happen, will the guys be able to look past everything and help Bella?

Great start to new series!
I was so excited when I saw this book and I was not disappointed! There was excitement, intrigue, bad guys and hot love. What more could you ask for? Five stars!
