------------------------------- A word from the author: -------------------------------
"The Redemption Sect" is a purposeful departure from my previously published nonfictional memoirs, which are often described as "easy reads" that are lighthearted and funny.
This book is none of that.
I wrote this novel as an adult themed allegory, one that some will find disturbing. It is designed to challenge the reader and to make them think, all the while entertaining with a dark storyline. Although this book does not promote any particular ideology, it does contain a message, as all allegories do.
After reading through the completed first draft, my editor told me that she could not stop thinking about the images that leapt from its pages, some of them unsettling her for days.
To be clear: this book is not for everyone.
If you believe you are in a weak emotional state, are easily offended, prudish, or squeamish, or you dislike having your personal paradigms tested, then please, DO NOT READ THIS BOOK.
Brock Talon is an author with a distinct voice and style all his own. He writes from his personal experiences in a way that makes it seem as if you are living them yourself.
He has written two memoirs about his time as a Jehovah's Witness and his years in the world headquarters of that religion, a place called Bethel. Both have been well received.
Brock then moved on to fiction and has written his first novel, one that he believes people will enjoy as the dark mystery thriller it is.
So pack your bags, make room for inspiration and invention, and take a journey with Brock.
