Three friends get more than they bargain for when they discover a treasure worth immense riches. When Walter Ulrich and his friends unwittingly become the focus of modern day pirates, a fun-filled, relaxing annual vacation becomes a struggle for life and death. A mysterious, centuries old map, a sinister, dark sailing vessel, and men who would kill for what they want turn the tranquil blue waters of the Florida Keys red with blood.
A book brimming with adventure, modern-day pirates, sharks, peril, and friendship out on the open ocean. I found myself intrigued for most of this novel. The characters felt real to me, and the setting and descriptions were well done. There were some issues with POV/tense sometimes and some typos, but overall those were minor. Dissinger writes a fast-paced story that isn’t without emotion. We fear for the characters, care for them, and get angered by the antagonists. If you’re into what I’ve said above and into supporting indie authors, give this a read!
