Blood on the Rocks: Book 1 of The Slapshot Prequel He's tall, dark, and brooding... and the number one suspect in her grandfather's murder
After she finds her grandfather’s dead body in his office, Seraphina Hanson, a twenty-three year old college graduate, inherits the Newport Beach Seagulls, a hockey team she knows absolutely nothing about. Even though she’d rather be spending the rest of her summer eating macaroni and cheese and watching Law and Order: SVU reruns, Seraphina decides to take on the responsibility of owning and running the team on top of dealing with her grandfather’s untimely death. When the police start to suspect the Gulls’ star goaltender, a man Seraphina believes is innocent, she is determined to solve her grandfather’s murder herself.
Grace on the Rocks: Book 2 of The Slapshot Prequel
A chance encounter at the beach causes sparks to fly
Emma Winsor is in her final year of college, choreographing a dance number for her final, and applying to dance schools in New York. Her father drags her to the beach for a Newport Beach Seagulls' event, something he's done with her since the team was first created in 1993. In fact, he's had season tickets for the same amount of time, and since Emma's mother left them when Emma was three, she has been her father's date ever since.
Kyle Underwood is a first line right winger for the Newport Beach Seagulls. He's an instigator on the ice, the type of player who rubs his mouth, gets under the skin; the kind of player who is hated unless on the team. He's happy being single, dating around, and focusing on his passion: hockey. Up until he decides to talk to Emma Winsor, daughter of one of the Gulls' season ticket holders. He thinks she'll be like every other puck bunny who attends these fan events but she doesn't even know his name.
She's different. He has to have her.
Will Emma take a chance on a notorious bachelor hockey player? Can Kyle convince her that he's just as different as he is?
Charm on the Rocks: Book 3 of The Slapshot Prequel
When you know it's wrong but it feels so right
Madison Montgomery is through with players. In fact, she doesn't want to date at all until she finishes her last year of college at the University of California, Irvine. She works as a Gulls' Girl, one of the beautiful women who interacts with fans and scrapes off ice during intermission breaks of the Newport Beach Seagulls hockey games in order to save money. It's there she meets Alec Schumacher, right winger for the first line of the Newport Beach Seagulls. He's deliriously good looking, a skilled player, and oozes charm from every inch of his skin. He's the exact person Madison promised to stay away from.
Except she can't seem to resist.
Alec Schumacher has a reputation that includes dating the beautiful women that clean up the ice during the games. The problem is, it isn't entirely true. Sure, he's hooked up with a couple but they hadn't meant anything and he always made that clear so everything was on the table. Then he meets Madison Montgomery, beautiful brunette who's smart, witty, and drop-dead gorgeous and everything changes. He wants to be around her, he wants to be with her.
Full disclosure: I am an acquired taste. I'm a typical blonde Orange County suburbanite who says 'like' more than necessary, laughs loud and probably obnoxiously, and loves to dance in the rain. I'm a 23 year old college graduate with more than a few tricks up my sleeve, and I also happen to be a pretty big Ducks fan. Oh, and I'm a writer. Like, for real.
I read books one and two of this series before reading the prequels but I am so glad I went back to read these!
These three short stories give some history to how Sera and Kat get to where they are but also introduce us to some of the other members of the Gulls team.
Blood on the Rocks isn't much of a romance but the details shared in the story were necessary to truly understanding who Sera is and plants the seed for her potential relationship with Brandon. Grace on the Rocks is the story of Emma, a college senior who is a dancer, and Kyle, one of the players for the Gulls. Emma is an amazing character: she says what she means and she doesn't play games. I seriously loved her so much!! Charm on the Rocks is the story of Madison, one of the Gulls Girls, and Alec, one of the players. There is clause in their contracts stating there's to be no fraternization between them but the pull is just too strong.
I read these three novellas in a couple hours. These prequels made me feel more connected to the other characters in this series and now I'm even more excited for Sera's book!!

This is the three prequel novellas in the Slapshot series all together. I bought them all individually, but couldn't resist buying the three together. After all, it's better for binge reading. The first novella isn't so much of a romance, although there are hints of it, which I hope results in a book, but it does explain how Seraphina ends up owning the hockey team and what she goes through after her grandfather is murdered. This novella runs all the way through the murderer being discovered and some of the results of it. Seraphina comes across as this amazingly strong, caring woman who handles all the adversity she faces with grace and dignity. I really connected with the emotions she was experiencing. The next story is about Kyle Underwood, a forward on the team, and Emma Winsor, the daughter of a long term season ticket holder. I loved this story because Emma is such an open, honest person. She is also a hard worker and dedicated to her father. The chemistry between her and Kyle jumped off the page. The last novella in this compilation is Kyle Schumacher and Madison Montgomery's story. And boy is it ever! Madison is a college student from a small town in Michigan whose father is super controlling, even from Michigan. Kyle is the team's playboy who never dates the same girl twice. Again, the chemistry just leaps off the page, despite Madison trying to fight it.
I loved a lot of things about these novellas, but the main thing I loved was how well the author really makes you feel like you are right there with the heroine, as these are all written from the heroine's perspective. The heroines are all smart, strong women who I related to and connected with. These are women I would be friends with.
These are all hockey books. Hockey is a part of them all. However, the author integrates it seamlessly into the stories and explains what needs to be explained in a very clear way without detracting from the experience. You absolutely do not have to like or understand hockey to enjoy these novellas, however you may find yourself watching a game or two after you read them.
All these novellas end in a happily for now, not a happily ever after. However, this just makes you want to read the upcoming stories in the series to see what happens with these characters and see who gets their next happily for now.
Simply put, these novellas are great, but they do leave you anxiously awaiting the next books. They are short stories and can easily be read at one sitting, but beware, it is not easy to stop after just reading one novella at a time. You may find yourself reading them all at one sitting, like I have done several times. So get some snacks and a drink and sit down and enjoy these great warm ups to the full length books.
The Slapshot Prequel is a great boxset and a perfect start to an amazing series. This boxset story is told in different POV over the same time frame and definitely helps brings you deeper into the story.
Blood on the Rocks is heart wrenching. When you lose someone you love it tears at your heart. When that person is taken from you it is a loss like nothing you have ever felt.
Seraphina's grandfather is killed and it is as if a part of her is killed. She inherited her grandfather's hockey team and believing he did it because he believed in her she takes her place as owner and manager.
Seraphina and her sister learned one thing from her grandfather it was to trust their gut. Even though they are young it has never let them down.
Blood on the Rock is an amazing start to the prequel for this series.
-------
Grace on the Rock is the second book in the Prequel for Slapshot series.
Grace on the Rock is deep with relationships. The main one Is Emma and her dad, Jeremy. They both have busy lifes but make it appoint to spend time together at the hockey games. It is such an important time for both of them that even their friends know nothing will come between it.
Then there is Emma and Kyle's relationship ship. This a great one as they are real to each other with no games or tricks just who they are and what they are thinking.
This a book just adds more to the over all story given you more insight of things that happen and has you falling in love with the each character.
-------
Charming on the Rock is the third book in the Slapshot Prequel Trilogy and as with the others books it does not disappoint.
In this story you get to to see the beginning of Madison and Alec's relationship. Madison away from her family is going to college and working at a job that she is not comfortable with. Alec's is known as a player, but those who know him know he is more.
Madison and Alec are honest and upfront with each other and instead of pushing the relationship they just see where it goes. Alec also is so taken with Madison that he goes to Seraphina for help. I love that Seraphina doesn't try to stop the relationship, she actually encourages it.
This Trilogy is a great start to what is a wonderful series.

Blood on the Rocks I'm Canadian, so that pretty much means that if you hand me a book involving hockey, I'm going to be interested. The story itself is really good. I like the premise. I love that we get to follow the three heroines through their own books. I just had a lot of problems with the spelling, grammar, and continuity errors. It was difficult for me to stay submerged in the story when I kept going "wait, what?". I was also hoping to actually see a relationship develop between our heroine and her hero. That being said, I'm still really looking forward to seeing what the other books in the series bring. Grace on the Rocks Most of this book is already in Emma's chapters of book 1. I like that this picks up and carries on her growing relationship with Kyle from the first book, but I was hoping for more. Even the blurb suggests that there would be more in here than there is. At least we get to see more of the developing relationship here than we did of the heroine and her hero of book one. Charm on the Rocks This book had more new material than the second, but still most of the book was Madison's chapters from book one. Again, I wanted more from the story. I liked that we got to see more of Madison and Alec's interactions, and even a cute little scene of Sera and Brandon. This is set up so that there's lots of room for the series to grow. I'm looking forward to seeing what's next.
BLOOD ON THE ROCKS 4 Stars This is prequel one in the Slapshot series and it features Seraphina and Katella Hanson. Seraphina finds her grandfather murdered and this short story is all about finding out who killed him. It’s also about the struggle she’s about to endure as the new owner/manager of a hockey team. A new owner/manager that knows very little about hockey but after reading this short story, I have faith in her. I can’t wait for more of the Slapshot series.
GRACE ON THE ROCKS 3.5 Stars This is the Slapshot series prequel two and it features Emma Winsor and Kyle Underwood. These two met at a Gulls beach function. Emma just wants to finish college and spend time with her father. Dating is not in her plans right now, even if the cute hockey player wants to take her to dinner. This is a rehash of the owner of the Gulls, Ken Brown’s murder, only it’s being talked about by different people. I look forward to reading more about Kyle’s and Emma‘s romance.
CHARM ON THE ROCKS 3.5 Stars This is prequel 3 in the Slapshot series and it features Madison Montgomery and Alec Schumacher. She’s the Gulls girl from small-town Michigan and he’s the California guy that plays right forward for the Gulls. Players and Gulls girls are not supposed to socialize outside of team events, so it seems the attraction between these two will have to be a secret. Outside of the budding romance, this is another retelling of Ken Brown’s murder.
What a great box set. The owner of the Gulls is murder and leaves the team to his youngest granddaughter in his will. She is under alot of pressure as the first female owner. How she dresses, looks and inexperience is scrutinized. The goalie is named as a suspect because he had a meeting schedule at the time of his death and wanted more money or be traded. Seraphina backs the goalie and keeps playing him. There are major sparks between the 2 of them but goes no further. The owner son is questioned for the murder. But is cleared. The book gives clues to the real murder and Seraphina figures it out. Will she survive figuring it out.
Emma goes to Gulls hockey games with her Dad. It is there father and daughter time. She is school for dance and choregraphry. She usually has not much interest interest in the hockey players until she meets Kyle at a meet and greet. He is a confirmed bachelor or he thinks. Emma might be the game changer,
Madison is from a strict , conservative family. But unkown to them she is a Gull girls and her father would not be happy. She is not interested in dating anyone, especially Alec who goes after Gull girls but does not commit. But the sparks fly high between these 2. Also what about the fact players and Gull girls are not suppose to date. I could not wait to read the next books.

I really enjoyed the Slapshot prequels. I was reading them after the first couple books in the series, so this box set helped me fill in a lot of the blanks of what happened before Exes and Goals.
Blood on the Rocks involved the mystery of who killed the Gulls' owner and how his granddaughter took over the team. It also foreshadows the relationship between Seraphina, the owner, and Brandon, the team's goalie. I really enjoyed both the romance and mystery aspects of the story.
Grace on the Rocks shows similar events, but from the perspective of the fans. It also introduces us to Emma, who with her dad are season tickets holders of the Gulls, and Kyle Underwood, the team's right winger. Their relationship is sweet, without being cheesy.
Charm on the Rocks gives us the final perspective of the events, that of the team. Madison is one of the Gulls Girls, struggling to put herself through school. Alec is a rumored playboy on the team, who melts for Madison. I really enjoyed the two of them together.
I was already a fan of the series, but this box set has me even more excited for the next book.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book and voluntarily provided this honest review.
Wonderful and entertaining 3-book set. I read a number of other books in this series prior to these prequel books, and all of these characters appear sporadically throughout the books, and things are consistent between them. This is great way to get the back-stories of some of the other characters. As always with this author, the books are well-written, with interesting story lines and characters who have terrific chemistry together.
Blood on the Rocks - Sera finds her beloved grandfather dead in his office, apparently murdered. A Gulls' player is on the suspect list. This first book isn't actually a romance, but sets the stage for how Sera and Kat become involved with the Gulls' organization.
Grace on the Rocks - Emma's dad drags her to a Gulls' event, where she meets Kyle. He's a player in every sense of the word. She has no idea who he is. He's intrigued.
Charm on the Rocks - Madison is a Gulls' Girl, which means no dating the players. Not a problem. Until she meets Alex. His reputation with Gulls' Girls precedes him, except that it's not all true. Will she break the rules and take a chance?
A Slapshot Prequel Box Set (Slapshot Prequel Trilogy Book 4), by Heather C. Myers is a perfectly good story line, offering the POV of three characters, in three alternate stories, running parallel to one another. Nicely done. If you’re into hockey, A Slapshot Prequel Box Set (A Slapshot Prequel Trilogy Book 4), by Heather C. Myers may be just what you are looking for. The set contains three separate stories, which unfold simultaneously, the first a murder mystery with a romance element, the second and third romances. The biggest criticism I have of A Slapshot Prequel Boxset was the editing, or lack thereof, distracts and pulls the reader out of the story repeatedly, to the point of annoyance. There are so many spelling errors, typos, and repetitive wording that it pulls the reader out of the story repeatedly. The stories were interesting enough to keep me reading, but the errors were bothersome and annoying at times.
Blood On The Rocks: After the death of her grandfather, Seraphina inherits a hockey team, the Newport Beach Seagulls. One problem, she knows nothing about running a hockey team. This is a murder mystery with a romance tossed in and a good introduction into the Slapshot series. Grace On The Rocks: Emma is in her final year of college and Kyle is a hockey player for the Newport Beach Seagulls. I like these two for each other and I enjoyed reading their story. The characters are well developed and the story is well written. Charm On The Rocks: Madison is a member of the Gull Girls and Alec is a star hockey player of the Newport Beach Seagulls. Madison had decided she's through dating and wants to concentrate more on her final year of college until she meets Alec. I like the way the author brought Alec and Madison together and how they become friends before taking their relationship to the next level. A great addition to the Slapshot series.
I enjoyed reading all 3 of these books and am glad they are in a collection so they can all be read together. Blood on the Rocks: I have read other books in this series and I enjoyed finding out more about Seraphina and what happened with her grandfather. I liked how she stood by Brandon while trying to find out who committed the murder. Grace on the Rocks: I enjoyed reading about the beginnings of Emma and Kyle's relationship. I liked that Emma started going to hockey games as something with her father. Charm on the Rocks: This prequel is Alec and Madison and I enjoyed reading more about the beginnings of their relationship. I enjoyed reading the prequels.

This set contains the first 3 stories in the Slapshot Prequel series. While this is part of a series, it is a standalone with no cliffhanger. Though it helps to read ad the Slapshot series too.
The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that info here. The author managed to describe the main characters and the setting well. While these stories revolve around hockey, specifically the Seagulls, most of the storyline takes place off the ice. The storylines are average but overall, it was a good read.
I enjoyed these stories and I'm looking forward to reading more from this author including more books about the Seagulls hockey team.
The Slapshot Prequel Box Set introduces us to some of the characters from the Slapshot series which is a sports romance about hockey players from the Newport Beach Sea Gulls and the ladies that win their hearts. In these prequels we meet Seraphina who inherits the team after her grandfather is murdered. You can read her story in Blood on the Rocks. In Grace on the Rocks we meet Emma and Kyles first encounter And finally we meet Madison a Gulls girl and Alex a player in the team in Charm on the Rocks

I have read most of the Slapshot series and it's great getting to read the stories of some of the characters that already had their start by the time that series began. I love getting to read these in one box set so I don't get to stop reading. I had to keep going because I needed to know what happened with all of them. This is the perfect start to then continue with the Slapshot series as characters from these books pop up in the others.

I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this collection of stories by Ms Myers about the Newport Gulls and they're players lives. Each story is based on a different player and how their lives go from boring to finding the loves of their lives. I like the part each book still keeps a touch on all the other books and characters as well. Great HEA and it shows it takes time to build a solid life.

I must say, I read the books in the series backwards. This one tells the story of three couples, along with other details that end up being important in the other books. I like how this one introduces you to everyone & gives the reader a backstory for the series. This was a well-written book with three stories that will warn your heart!! And great way to start an excellent setiesw!!
Loved the book, the story was well written and the characters were intriguing. Once I started I could not get enough, from the start till the end I was engrossed I was even on the edge of my seat with twists and turns, hot and steamy, lust and passion, strength, happiness with a happily ever after. Do yourself a favor and buy the book you want be disappointed. Thank you for allowing me to review your book.

A chance to get all three starting prequels to a really good pro hockey romance series in one place. I have read these books individually and enjoyed each one. This is the start of the stories around the Newport Beach Seagulls, the managing team and the teammates. Enjoy!

Wonderfully fantastic... The book set was amazing... It had a lot of details and juicy scenes to them... The characters and their personalities match them perfectly... The plots and the storylines was very descriptive and amazing...I would recommend this Boxset to anyone!!

A three prequels to a really good pro hockey romance series . The best of it , it’s in one place. I enjoyed each one of them. This is the start of the stories around the Newport Beach Seagulls, the managing team and the teammates. Has a intriguing and interesting storyline.Enjoy!

The stories are fairly good, but the lack of proofreading takes away from them. If the author paid someone to proofread her stories, she should ask for a refund. To many errors!
This Box Set is a good look into how some of the characters got together at the start, it is a good starting point for anybody wanting to read this series
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A really good intro into the Slapshot world, some of it's characters and the hockey world. There is enough heat to melt hearts and the ice in these stories! Do yourself a favor and read the rest of the series, you don't have to be a hocky fan to enjoy them
There were a lot of grammar errors in this box set, especially in the first and second book. HOWEVER, the story still drew me in, and I wanted to keep reading. All three of the stories were intertwined really well. I enjoyed meeting the members of the team.
Very enjoyable read...romance, murder, suspense, and sexy hockey players...enjoyed this box set very much..Heather Myers did an amazing job with each book
