Amanda is in a frantic rush to her childhood home, a place she has spent the last twenty years avoiding, to see her best friend before he dies. She doesn't understand why he hadn't told her he was sick & now she only hopes to get there before it was too late. Upon entering Craig's house & seeing him lying in the hospital bed she knows she hasn't made it in time. When a voice belonging to the last person Amanda wanted to see told her he had passed about an hour before she got there. The voice belongs to Dawson, her once high school sweetheart, her first love & her first heart break. Dawson was the reason she had stayed away for so long. They are both surprised to see each other because Craig had never mentioned the other to each of his good friends. Amanda decides to stay & take care of Craig's affairs before she heads back to NYC where she lives. Dawson offers to help her knowing from experience that it won't be easy. But being around each other isn't easy either. No matter what is said every time Amanda & Dawson try to talk, one or both of them end up misunderstanding each other. Even with all of the emotional upheaval they are still drawn to each other. When someone from Amanda's resent past arrives in town to cause problems it brings everyone closer especially Amanda & Dawson.
This second chance romance starts out rocky for our couple but when they have to fight together against a common threat is pulls them back together. It is a bitter sweet story taking the death of a dear friend to both of them to lay the ground work to find their way back to each other. It's about excepting lose & the hurt it brings & letting go of the past. The co-authors did a wonderful job of balancing their writing to bring a story that was at times touching, sarcastic, hostile & ultimately loving. This book is meant for mature readers.

WOW...talk about being drawn in hook, line and sinker right from the very beginning. The sudden and unexpected loss of Amanda's best friend has her leaving the life she's built up for herself in the city and returning to the hometown she'd left behind years ago and straight into the reason why she'd always found it difficult to return to 'Dawson' the man who broke her heart 20yrs before. Dawson pushed Amanda away all those years ago but he'd never forgotten her he believed he was doing the right thing at the time, he was dealing with his own abandonment issues and that's basically why he pushed her away but now she back he's not going to let her go he's going to make her his for keeps this time but has he left it too late? Has he lost her for good? Will she return to the city or stay giving love and in turn Dawson a 2nd chance? You have to read and find out for yourself the how and why's.
This was a super emotionally sweet read with a HEA, a brilliant second chance romance. I love Tia and Penelope as individual authors so having them collaborate together is super exciting.

Amanda left Roaring Forks twenty years ago, when she left for college and after her high school sweetheart broke her heart. She has since went on to be a lawyer in bustling New York and is near becoming a partner at a swanky law firm there. She could never quite bring herself to return to Raging Forks after Dawson broke things off with her. The town is just a constant reminder of him and how he quit wanting her. However, when she gets the call that her best friend, Craig, is dying she drops everything to try to get to him in time. And of course when she arrives Dawson is there and looks even sexier than he did in school.
Things are a bit rocky between Amanda and Dawson, now that she’s back in town, albeit temporarily. But the two work together to take care of everything in the aftermath of Craig’s death. And, as you would expect the old spark reignites. However, Amanda’s ex comes to town and throws a wrench into their reunion, not to mention Dawson has yet to come clean with her about why he ended things all those years ago. One thing is for sure, neither of them wants to lose the other again, but is their bond strong enough to hold on?
I love a good second chance romance book, so reading the blurb and seeing the smoking hot cover, I felt this book was right up my alley. Unfortunately, I wasn’t crazy about this one. I found the writing to be a bit juvenile, in a way, maybe it’s just a result of two authors collaborating in one story. It took a long time for the book to get interesting and by the time it did the book was pretty much over. I couldn’t understand why Amanda immediately put herself up at Craig’s house after he died, especially since her mom lives in town in a house she bought her! And, even more puzzling, why she spearheaded going through Craig’s things and selling or throwing them away. She began the night he died without waiting to see if there was a will or some kind of family that would come forward to help. I found that incredibly strange.
I also found Dawson to be an incredible jerk for a big portion of the book and I couldn’t imagine why Amanda would want to be back with him or why he was so angry toward her. I felt the transition between them fighting to making out was pretty disjointed and didn’t really make much sense to me. But once the two got back together it was nice for a bit. Then, Amanda’s ex showed up and we got to see Dawson’s protective side. I found somebody as determined to get her back as Michael was, and then to give up so quickly to be unlikely.
But things were going good between Amanda and Dawson and then we get to the end of the book and it seemed like everything that made up their happily ever after happened all at once, like the authors were just rushing to finish the book and tie everything up nice and neat.
Despite what it may sound like in this review, I don’t think the book was bad, but it definitely had its faults. Hopefully this writing duo gets better as the series progresses and they get more experience under their belts.
This book had me in tears!! I absolutely loved it!! This is a story of love, friendship, heartache, sex & everything that goes with that. Dawson & Amanda were school sweethearts & when Dawson being the unselfish loving guy that he is, realize that Amanda wants to make a name for herself as a lawyer in the city, he breaks things off with her to give her that chance. It broke his heart, but he moved on to the military & when his time was up, he returned to his hometown as it will always be his "home". After 20 yrs gone, Amanda gets news that their childhood best friend, the quiet good doctor Craig, is dying she returns home to their small town. The sparks fly between Dawson & Amanda when they meet each other again. Will they finally get their HEA?
From the very beginning this book pulls on your heart strings. It is a sweet story of second chances, in love and life. If you could do over, would you?? Amanda returns to her hometown after 20 yrs, under difficult circumstances. Within moments of being in her hometown she is face to face with her childhood sweetheart Dawson. As the two learn to understand each other better, and what they need can they build a future together and give their love a second chance??? As always a great read from both Penelope and Tia.
You're the only thing in my life that's ever completely made sense.
A phone call telling Amanda that her best friend is dying, brings her home after 20 years. Right back to her first love, Dawson. This book made me cry and laugh and made my heart melt. Be prepared to hit all kinds of emotions with this one. Loved it! Enjoy!!!
I totally loved this book!! When a friend dies it brings old lovers together and sparks fly. Amanda and Dawson see each other after 20 years when their shared best friend dies of cancer. This is an emotionally charged story of how a second chance can be found when you least expect it.
i always love second-chance romance, but this one didn't impress me much. i felt this book had no BOOM moment when the H/h realized what exactly happened, and realizing their feeling for each other. i expect more.

I enjoyed reading this book. The book maybe fiction, but the storyline can be related to true-life situations and you will want to keep reading to find out what happened. When reading the story, it may make you feel sad, confused, appalled, and even euphoric. What moves me is just how the authors, Tia Lewis and Penelope Marshall, were able to make the characters’ situations seem credible and realistic—their hurts, ambivalence, etc. I loved the characters of Amanda and Dawson. Amanda, Dawson, and Craig were best friends in high school and college, but Dawson and Amanda were sweethearts until he pushed Amanda out of his life to follow her dream thus causing her to be heartbroken. Amanda left to become a lawyer in NYC, and Dawson spent five years as a Navy Seal and returned to manage a diner. Amanda stayed away for fear of running into Dawson. Who would have thought that 20 years later, each would return to their hometown? When Craig developed cancer, he told Dawson but not Amanda. When Amanda arrived at Craig’s house, he already died; but who was the first person that spoke to her at Craig’s house—Dawson. This was a tearjerker for sure. Will Amanda and Dawson get back together after 20 years? Why did Craig not notify Amanda that he was dying since they were best friends? All these questions and more can be answered after you read Only One You. The scenes are well written, fast-paced and flow smoothly from one scene to the next. This story will pique your interest and draw you in from the beginning to the very end.

Amanda Craig and Dawson grew up together in a small town in Virginia, This story was absolutely amazing, I was crying within the first chapter of this book, When Amanda got a call from a nurse about her BEST friend Craig, She didnt even know he was sick and yet he was dying, She was trying so hard to get to him in time. When she walks in and sees her ex Dawson in Craig's house she is so numb with grief that it doesnt really register at first. This book deals with so much, and will hold you until the very end. It not only has Dawson and Amanda dealing with their past but also their future. I LOVED this book so much, I could not put it down. The fact that the characters were a bit older then most in their late 30's yet they get their second chance made it even better for me. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this book.
What do you do when you come face-to-face with the only person that ever mattered, but you pushed away?
Amanda has been avoiding her hometown for years. Never wanting to go back to where she experienced her first heartbreak. But the death of a close friend brings her home and to the last person she ever wanted to see.
Amanda has built a new life for herself. She is content, or so she thinks, until she see Dawson again. He pushed her away all those years ago and never knew why. But now Dawson does not want to let her go.
This was such a charming second chance at love story. This story had emotion and angst, but also allows two people to see what has aways been in front of them. Their journey is not easy and they continue to have misunderstandings, but this time, they have to decide if they are really willing to walk away.
I really enjoyed this story. I love second chance stories and this one really pulls you in.

A second chance romance set in a small town. Amanda and Dawson were high school sweethearts whose relationship didn't end well and they are brought back together after a tragic loss.
Possible Spoilers:
I wanted to love this book but it started off at a slow pace. We don't get to know the reason behind their break up until about 60% and I still didn't understand why Dawson was so angry with Amanda. They went from hating each other to being intimate from one chapter to the next. I'm not sure they even solved their old problems before the story ended.
I just love the Penelope and Tia partnership, this was such a heartfelt book that I just didn't want it to end.
What a fantastic story line and I am a big fan of second chance loves and this one was way up there.
I loved Amanda, you could see why she wanted to get out of a small town and go make a name for herself, she was a great lawyer, but there would always something that would bring her back home. It was not the best circumstances but the fact that she hadn’t been home for 20 years made her rethink her choices and her life.
Dawson was such a great guy and for all he had been through during his time in the military, you could easily understand why he wanted to go back to his small home town. He was loving and looking out for everyone else but himself and I loved seeing him be selfish for once and go after something he wanted.
Craig was probably the biggest star of this story for me even though he wasn't in it much it was like his presence was in every single page.
I loved how this story took us on a journey on how fate and also how one person can bring other people back together again. This story had heart, was a little steamy and was just such a great read.
Thank you for letting me read a copy and just really appreciate it, and really loving your novels
I love Tia Lewis, I think I have read every book she has released and every book is different. This book is also by Penelope Marshall, together they have a winning combination. Only One You is about Amanda and Dawson young lovers who went in seperate directions, to Dawson Amanda was the girl that got away. Dawson and Amanda will come back together at time when they both lose someone near and dear to their hearts. Can these two people who love eachother find one another again and finally make all their dreams come true? Well I suggest you give Only One You a try and I can guarantee you will not be disappointed. Happy Reading! ! I voluntarily received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book for an honest review.
What I liked about Only One You is that Dawson and Amanda are in their late 30s -- high school sweethearts reconnecting 20 years later when a tragic event calls her back to their hometown. What I didn't like was that at almost 40, Amanda just goes back into bed with Dawson without getting to the root of why they split in the first place! If al she wanted was the sex, it wouldn't have bothered me, but she clearly wasn't over him, nor he her. I just expected more from Amanda, considering her most recent relationship, before reuniting with Dawson. So by the time he finally comes clean at the very end with why he pushed her away, it felt anti-climactic to me. But besides that, the story was an enjoyable enjoyablesecond chance romance with a sweet HEA. I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book Oh what a beautiful, emotional, sad story. But it wasn't all doom and gloom. It was loving, sexy moments and so much more. Although the story is about Amanda and Dawson, the unsung hero I think is Craig. The quiet, do gooder Doctor. Not only their friend but to everyone in the town. Amanda had to leave to do something in her life and become a lawyer. Dawson was the opposite, he wanted to come home after being in the military. Amanda came home to see Craig as he was dying but to be away for 20 years is a long time. People change. Amanda and Dawson getting to know one another, all over again but some things don't change, like their passion and love for each other plus big secrets too. A different kind of second chance story but loved it none the less.
Dawson and Amanda finally have a chance to be together again, but will they take it? I really enjoyed reading this book. It made me sad and happy. Tia and Penelope just have a way of drawing you into the story, that you just can't put it down until you're finished. I look forward to reading more from these two in the future.
This book with make you cry and then come together with love. I love how Tia Penelope & Penelope Marshall wrote Dawson & Amanda story.
Oh, to grow up in a small town, everyone knows everyone but more important there was no future in a small town. If you want to be or do something you must leave town. So, Dawson leaves his love Amanda. He has been all over the world serving with the Navy but he could never have forgot his first and only love, Amanda. When meeting up again in a dying friend place they knew they were going to deal with their past feelings for each before they can have a future together.

Only One You, by Tia Lewis and Penelope Marshall, was an excellently written second chance romance. Without giving away what the bulk of the story line is, they are reunited years later and it's not all roses & flowers. However, how long can you deny/avoid what is right in front of you?! The authors have written a beautiful story filled with distance, regret, loss, longing, devotion, hate.
Only One You by Tia Lewis & Penelope Marshall Loved, Loved, Loved this book. You are taken upon an emotional rollercoaster of a ride that pulls at the heart strings, has you wanting to yell at the main characters but also has you laughing at times. “I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.”
Amanda returns to her hometown when she gets word that her childhood best friend Craig is dying. I was in tears within the first chapter. And then she runs into Dawson, her high school sweetheart, and it's obvious they aren't on the best of terms. There was such emotion in this book. Dawson let her go because he thought that was the right thing to do. Amanda had had her heart broken enough that she knew being around Dawson could only be trouble, but the heart knows what it wants. It was a wonderful second chance romance, filled with angst, desire, and hope. I couldn't wait to see how their reunion came to fruition. Their HEA made my heart happy. I loved it! Both these authors are on my favourite lists, this book co-written by both is fantastic.
Amanda left her small town over 20 years ago, she is on the way to partnership for her law firm and Craig is her only link to back home. Dawson ex-military and manager of the town’s only diner was Amanda’s 1st love and he broke her heart. Amanda gets a call that Craig is dying, she returns home but not in time to see Craig. Dawson is there, she is still hurting over him. Do they get their second chance?
Wow! I loved this one as it drew me in right from the beginning & got me hooked. A tear jerker sweet read that is a wonderful second chance romance. These two authors working together have done a fantastic job. Amanda & Dawson are former bestfriends & High school sweethearts that are drawn back to eachother when she returns to her old town. With sensational character's that draw you in. I recommend reading this novel as you will not be disappointed.
Feely feels story. Brought together by the loss of a lifelong friend, two ex-high school sweethearts are thrown together. This is emotional and really draws you in. Made me feel all the things. Sad over their loss, hope for the future, turmoil, wondering if they will find closure or work past it. I enjoyed going through it all with them. Got a tissue anybody? I received an arc of this.
What a beautiful way to put together this second chance story. Amanda, Craig and Dawson where childhood friends. Amanda and Dawson ended up as a couple for a while before she went to college to become a great lawyer. Dawson broke it up and Amanda never understood why. They were so good together. 20 years later a tragedy brings them back together. I cried and smiled through the book. Rooting for Dawson and Amanda all the way. Sweet, sexy and sometimes frustrating Dawson is my favorite character. Loved Craig. Admired Amanda. Great book!!!
I love the struggle Amanda goes through trying to be a successful independent woman. But us strong stubborn women still need someone to love. Dawson had a troubled past that he his from everyone. He basically had abandonment issues. That's why he let her go and broke Amanda's heart. Too bad it took 20 years, some poor choices, and the death of her best friend to bring her home and open her eyes. When it comes down to it, her heart was always Dawson's. If your looking for a sweet romance with a home town hero and HEA, you need to read Only One You. Tia Lewis and Penelope Marshall are great authors who teamed to go give us this great love story. I used KU to read this one!
