Sigh. I just love Erin McFadden's books. Her characters always come to life so easily for me, and I'm pretty sure she wrote Tank just for me! No? Meh, I'm gonna pretend she did, anyway! But, as much as I loved the group of work friends, Eira was something else! She was an amazing character, learning new things and making things come to life in a different light, and always ready to sacrifice herself if it comes to it. She was very well written!

The flow of the book was perfect, but this author's books always have that going for them. The plot to the story was really cool, it almost felt like pre-man meets new age technology, and I found it really interesting and fresh; not something that felt like I've read it before.

Cage's character development was impressive too, going from a depressed, withdrawn young man to one that I feel is going to be flat-out feared in the future of this series. Which, by the way, I'm dying to get my hands on.

If you like paranormal, angels and demons, and a few super smart guys, I definitely think you'll like this.

* I received an ebook from the author, but that in no way affected my review or opinion. *

This is my second book by author Erin McFadden and she is quickly climbing her way to my all time favorites list. I am ready to start the other two by her on my list (moving her straight to the top of my extensive TBR list). This book also has a paranormal plot and centers on "good and evil", or what is perceived as good and evil...

This book is about Cage and his ability to make people "confess" their sins or corruption and it makes them seem repulsed by his touch. He tries to never touch anyone with his bare skin, but sometimes he forgets that he isn't wearing his gloves...after accidentally touching someone and sending them to an early death he feels as if he is a curse to the world and that he must end his life.
Enter the "angel" who somehow saves him and heals him and then proceeds to explain what he is. Is this enough to make him change his mind about ending his life? Will he begin to understand his craving for people's secrets? Will he be able to heal himself enough to want to continue on?

The author has the reader asking themselves all of these questions and more as they try to figure out where the plot is going next. The author takes the reader on a roller coaster ride of emotions...they don't know which way is up and which way they should go next. This story is more than a story, it's a lesson and one that I am glad that I read!! I love this story and can't wait for the next one by this author!

If you haven't read her yet, make sure that you do! You don't want to miss out on this amazing author!

Omg what an epic read. It was an "I couldn't put it down" kind of read.
The characters come to life in this book as the author masterfully sucks you in letting you know only as much as Cage. It's all told from his POV in first person which really lets you see the world through his eyes.
The secondary characters and especially the female protagonist are amazing and i absolutely Love Eira.
The story draws you in and throws on this emotional rolllercoaster. It's tense, it's funny and it's sweet at times. I had times where I physically held my breathe and lent forward on the edge of my seat and points where tears glistened my eyes ... I was not crying *wipes eyes* shut up *sniffle* must be something in my eye ok.
The characters are likeable but realistic and it really is a case of not knowing who to trust. I can't stress enough how much I absolutely loved this book and can't wait for the next instalment.

Cage has lived all his life avoiding touch. The slightest touch from his causes terror In whoever was unlucky enough to brush his skin, so why does it feel so good? Torn between craving touch and fighting the darkness inside him cage reaches breaking point.
Unable to take much more Cage is at his lowest when a whirlwind enters his life called Eira. Cage's whole world is tipped upside down and his eyes opened to things he never thought possible but what is this beautiful stranger keeping from him?
Thrown into a world of danger Cage has to adapt and learn quickly how to harness the darkness if he is to survive

I was given a copy of this book by the author to read and review and as I found the blurb interesting I couldnt wait to get stuck in. I have never read anything before by this author so I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed her style of writing and how easily I got lost inside the story. It's not often I read YA/NA stories but as I started to read about Cage and his band of friends who like to go venturing into dark long forgotten places and discovering the unknown that they video and upload to the internet I was excited to see where this story would go.
After a tragic accident happens to one of the friends we see Cage hit rock bottom where upon here enters Eira who has been watching over him and she literally becomes his saviour. They form a bond and fight side by side against the demons that are trying to get into this world through the thinning and also with the demons that are inside of Cages head. She is a strong and very likeable character that you are easily drawn too as she cares so much about Cage and gives him the care and love he's never had before from anyone else in his young life. She is a powerful and knowledgeable allie that gives them the only chance of surviving the battle that they face.
This book ends in a cliffhanger so I'm hoping that there is another book to continue their story. I really enjoyed this book so I give it 4 Stars!

Erin McFadden is a new author to me. When I had a chance to read Confess, I wasn't sure how I would like it. It sounded really good from the description on Amazon. So I dived in and was so surprised how from the beginning I was sucked in. The first sentence caught my attention right away. "Dark shadows danced madly against dank brick as we picked our way through the tunnel." I thought Indiana Jones, paranormal and mystery all rolled into one. Yeehaa! This makes for a good book. Well I was very right on that. This book was really good! Exciting around every corner with a hit of a little, just a little bit of romance and adventure with demons and dark creatures to boot. It kept me turning the pages as fast as I could.
Cage is a filmmaker in dark, wet, dirty places under the city he lives in. There are old buildings down there that fell from the big earthquake a long time ago. It's a good place to film history and dark shadows. Cage and his crew ( his friends) and Stacy, aka Destiny Ryder, post their work on YouTube and have a huge following.
One day after filming, Cage and Stacy have a little arguement and she steps out in front of a bus and is killed. Cage is beyond words. He liked her alot and thought maybe they could have a good relationship one day. That night something with silver wings breaks through is window and starts to manifest in front of his very own eyes. What is this? Who is this? And where did it come from?
Eira is not from here, but she is here to help Cage close a rift, so to keep the dark demons out. They have to go down into the 0ld city underground to find a book of spells for this. the only thing is that there a many, many demons down there and up top just waiting for them to kill them. Will they find it and close the rift? Will they make it back out alive? There are so many questions that need answers and then you come the end and it is to be continued, what?????
Since this book was just released, I really hope Erin McFadden is working in book 2. She has my interest peaked and I need to find out what happens next. You won't be disappointed in this book, I sure wasn't! Until book 2!

There is something to be said about this author’s ability to write. She can write an incredibly action packed story without making the reader feel overwhelmed or making the action too wordy. It’s easy to get the gist of the action and what’s going on, have it still suck you in, without it being overwhelming.
This was a great read! It’s full of great characters, great relationships, a little romance, and some great action packed scenes with some paranormal thrown in. I really enjoyed watching the relationships between all the characters unfold. Sadly it takes a tragedy for the main character to realize he does have friends and is allowed to be happy and needs to reach out to them in a time of need.
This is the first book in a series. I think this promises an incredible rest of the series to come and I can’t wait for book 2. It sets the stage for an interesting turn of events at the end and I am assuming to carry onto book 2. It doesn’t appear that the books will be about different characters but rather the flow of the story will continue to book 2, but time will tell on that. Either way, the story has intrigued me enough and sunk its hooks into me that as soon as I can get book 2 in my hands, you bet I will be reading it.
If you enjoy reading stories that involve a little romance, have some great detailed scenes, involve some great adventure, have some darkness to the story line, and keep you on the edge of your seat, this is the book for you. It’s a little longer of a read, which was great, as it didn’t feel rushed, I didn’t feel short changed, and felt like there was really no detail left unsaid that was necessary to understand the story. It was a well rounded, well told story that definitely has more to come before it’s completely over.

Confess by Erin McFadden is a fast paced story from the very beginning, and nearly impossible to put down.

Cage works hard not to touch people, because of the way they react when he does; until he meets and Angelic creature who bursts through his kitchen window, and into his life. He names her Eira, and she knows exactly who and what he is.

I loved every minute of this ride, and highly recommend!!

What a rush!
Another fantastic story from Erin McFadden.
I've loved all of Erin's previous releases. Though this one has some slow spots, it's still a fantastic book.
Trying to write a review without giving away any of the plot.
Cage doesn't touch people. He has a strange reaction when he physically touches skin to skin. Making life fairly difficult. Him and his acquaintances enjoy searching through places, filming and uploading content for their fans. .
Eira and Cage have a strange beginning to their friendship. When she comes crashing in to save Cage's life.
Cage and his friends learn that all is not as it seems. When supernatural meets their world all craziness ensues.

The characters in this story are so easy to like. The story is really good, though I thought it could have been shortened at some points. I enjoyed the overall outcome of this first book in the series.

Now paranormal wouldn't be my go to genre but there has to be something said about Erin McFadden's book "Confess".
The story starts out slow giving us an insight into Cage's current situation and that I mean his inability to touch anyone without them cowering away from him, thinking that he is a monster. Until Eira, who saves his life and explains exactly what he is. These two characters share a connection like no other, You can actually see the electricity when they touch. The storyline is exciting, dangerous and tense at times but it all makes for an amazing story. The one thing I am bummed about, is that it ended. I think we definitely need a book 2 to complete Cage and Eira's story.

The story of Cage is an emotional gambit of a story that starts off with a slow burn as we get to know about him and his touch. He has kept himself out of close relationships to protect other's thinking himself a monster like he has been told for so long. But things are a chancing when he has a visitor that knows him better than he knows himself and then it is on. The zingers start and so does the action and suddenly it's over. There is a lot going on and it just gets better and better.

The story flows well, Cages confusion and emotion is strong and felt. Good heat but not overly sexual. Good buildup to the end with action and suspense and dang it the book is done. I love the way this author built this story and smashed it down.

Amazing start

This is the first book I read by the author and I was not sure what to expect when I preordered it based on the blurb.

This book us very well written and edited. The story is built on a solid premises from the very beginning. Our hero Cage has the ability to draw out people's negativity or darkness just by touching them which is a discomfort for most of the people as they have to re live the pain before getting rid of it.He is surrounded by good colleagues who later became good friends and stand with him. Our lead lady Eira is just amazing brave and understanding. She fight for Cage, trains him and believes in the cause of greater good.
There is lot of adventure, mystery, demons, fighting and romance involved. All in all a very good book. I am eagerly waiting for the next book to come out.

**This book was provided to Nerd Girl by the author in exchange for an honest review**

After reading the plot this book quickly made my list. I'm so happy it did because I was NOT disappointed.

In this book we follow Cage. A man who has the ability to make people confess their sins with just a touch. After accidentally sending someone to their death, Cage decided his ability is nothing more than a curse. He tried to kill himself, but someone or something intervenes. Can Cage be saved? Will he ever understand his purpose or why he has this ability?

The author did a tremendous job at articulating the perfect way to portray ones self loathing. Who doesn't feel the same as Cage at some point in their life? The darkness in this book is beautiful written and balances perfectly with the good. All you need to do is shine some light on the darkness for it to disappear right? 😁 To find out more you must read the book. I HIGHLY recommend it!
