It's kind of reassuring to know that in Taiwan the problems are not that much different from those in the mainland. For that means the problems are not solely caused by the government.
On the other hand, it could also be unsettling. For if the same problems appear in a place that is often envied as capable of preserving the traditional culture without being compromised by ideology, is there still a way out?
I enjoy the anecdotes in the book and the sample writings, though not so much about those on writing skills and way of teaching in high schools. Maybe in the end to free a people's mind you must first let them learn how to express themselves truly and freely. As the tile goes.
