13 books2 followersSam voraciously consumed books from a young age due to a food shortage in the small village in West Sussex where she grew up. This diet, although not recommended by doctors, has given her a lifelong passion for books. Sam was a bookseller, editor and educational publisher before she started to write children’s books. She also taught art and design for a while, and as a keen artist she has been known to dabble in a bit of illustration, too.
After a lot of moving around the country, Sam now lives in sunny Worthing on the south coast of England, where she grew up. She has a young son called Owen and an old yellow camper van called Daphne, and in summer they love pootling off on road trips to the New Forest and further afield. She goes rock climbing and plays guitar although not usually at the same time – and can often be found dangling off a cliff in or sitting at a campfire with her guitar singing silly songs about cockatoos!

A great story for 7-11 year olds, with a link to Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, but much funnier! The humour would definitely appeal to that age group. This is the second book in the series and sees the unconventional teacher Mr Hyde with his class on a school trip to a new theme park. There are many excellent characters from Mrs Blunt, the headmistress and teacher's pet Amelia, to Jake and his assorted classmates. The excitable and popular Mr Hyde has an unbelievable secret that the children must help him manage, in order to keep his job, but it always causes complete mayhem! The twist with the owner of the theme park and the school reports as an afterword were a clever addition to this story
