I read this book in preparation for a money themed storytime/program. This was a strong addition for older kids and it went more in depth in explaining why the economy works the way it does. The pictures are realistic and there is a glossary in the back as well as points for further research. It could still be read aloud though, which works well for my needs.

For: readers wanting a more in-depth discussion about money and the economy than a picture book.

Possible red flags: discussions of banks, investing, and credit may not be what some readers are looking for--this book gives an overview of everything which some readers may not want.

I've been trying to write a non-problematic project-based learning unit for kindergarteners based on IN SS economics standards. it's been hard and I'm ready to wave the white flag.
