Perfect for fans of Alex Rider and Jason Bourne, this action-packed conclusion to Connor's third mission sees him evading lethal hunters, both human and animal, in the African plains.
Following their heart-pounding, narrow escape at the end of book 5, Ambush, Connor Reeves and the diplomat's family under his protection are forced to run for their lives through the perilous jungle. With their safari vacation cut short, and a band of heavily armed rebel soldiers in hot pursuit, Connor must use every skill and trick he's learned during his Guardian training to ensure their survival.
But as they fight for their lives, Connor realizes the gunmen are the least of their problems--no amount of bodyguard training can prepare him for the bloodthirsty predators who roam the savanna.
Combining pulse-pounding action, diabolical enemies, and an insider's knowledge of the tricks of the trade, the BODYGUARD series is the perfect target for fans of Alex Rider, James Bond, Jack Bauer, and Jason Bourne.

Because I currently own the US edition, I'll review both books 5 & 6 at once. If you're wondering why or you aren't familiar with the series here's why; long story made short these two, US edition books is equivalent to book 3 in the UK edition. For this entire series each UK edition book has been split into 2 US edition books. (So, Ambush and Survival, books 5&6 in the US is really book 3 in the UK edition titled Ambush.)

Publication: October 24th 2017

Synopsis: Connor’s mission: to protect a foreign ambassador’s family on safari in Africa.

Considered the perfect assignment, the holiday turns to hell when their convoy is ambushed by gunmen.  Fleeing through the bush, Connor and his assigned family become the prey in a shoot-to-kill hunt across the African plains.

As they fight for their survival, Connor realizes the gunmen are the least of their problems. For no amount of bodyguard training can prepare him for the wilds of Africa and one prowling hungry leopard…

Review/Thoughts: These two books never really dragged on for me. There was always something that happened that held my attention. There was some time skips that I weren't overly fond of, it wasn't huge time skips more like a day or two. Things like that. I didn't mind them, but I wished that they weren't throughout Connor's birthday. I would have liked to see more of what they did for his birthday that's all.

I still love Alpha squad training exorcises. They're just training exorcises but they're wonderfully written and a certain aspect is brought to the scenes making them feel very urgent even life threatening to Alpha squad, at least to me as the reader they did.

Connor had his hands full in these 2 books, I mean he always does but this... He had to ensure his principals safety, avoid all the dangers that roam Africa, avoid the enemy, and make sure he, himself lives to keep the principals safe! A nice touch that was added was the fact that, while Connor is a great Bodyguard and great at all these other things he's still human. Meaning he's not invincible, not unbeatable and that he has an a phobia...that terrifies him! Yes, I'm sure all things are hinted and mentioned in the previous books and in the ones I have yet to read, but they were more highlighted in these books. I...I don't want to sound cruel towards our main character, but I enjoyed seeing that. I enjoyed seeing that he was...a teenager.

This Dr. Grey is creepy. I know we haven't seen the last of him, and I don't know whether to be concerned, or terrified by that thought. I don't want to be on this guy's bad side, and I get the feeling I also don't want to get caught making a deal with him. He's just creepy to me.

~Till the next Chapter~

As Conner, Amber, and Henri try to make their escape in the wilds of the African jungle, they continue to be hunted by the rebels who attacked their convoy. They also find they must deal with the dangers inherent in the jungle including deadly snakes, poisonous spiders, and hungry crocodiles. Knowing who to trust becomes their biggest problem when they run across soldiers, poachers, and rebels in the African jungle.

Survival begins where Ambush ended with continuing nonstop action and adventure for Conner and his charges. One aspect of Conner's job that stands out in this story is that the Guardians never carry guns and rarely use them unless they are threatened and acquire one from an enemy. Overall, this is another good entry in the Bodyguard Series.

I love reading this series. I love the adventure and the danger. I like the part of the book where Amber and Connor jump off the cliff. I also like the part after where amber and Connor jump of the cliff and Connor fights off crocodiles.
I love reading these books I wished I owned them. I like the part at the end where family is reunited and they all get out safely from the lodge. I like the mystery part to where Connor goes to look for Colonel Black, and comes across someone who was on the burning oil tanker from the two previous books, with Laurent the French Diplomat and Ambers Father discussing the diamonds that were being mine in the national park in africa.

What an excitng end to the tense situation in Africa!!!!I felt like Chris Bradford makes the character of Connor seem realistic. His has some great skill set with his martial arts background and his father being special forces, but he is human and does make mistakes. Like the situation with the Snake and AMber had to save him. Was not sure they were going to make it out alive. So many tense situations!!!!!!
