Foster Brothers

I didn’t mean to have s*x with my foster brothers…

Missi
I was given my name by the seven-year-old boy who found me by a dumpster wrapped in rags.
Hudson said that he loved me at first sight and he'd never let me go. He kept his promise for as long as he could. He and Flint were my foster brothers until circumstances forced us apart.

My life has always been hard and trouble just won’t seem to let me go. The chatroom is where I go to find a connection, but this time I get way more than I bargained for.

Hudson
My heart belongs to a girl I never met.
I’m a fantasy maker. A name in a chatroom, a finger, and a voice, and if you’re standing on the balcony at Club Forbidden, I’m going to make you come.

Except the girl with blonde hair like a pixie doesn’t leave it at that. She kisses me and tells me she wants more. I keep getting the feeling that I know her, but I break my rule and take her back to my place anyway.
When I find out who she is I don’t know what to do , but I need to make sure she’s safe before time runs out.

Flint
I’m a fighter, a brawler, an MMA champion. I take out my frustrations in the ring so I can be there for my brother. When he had to leave his NFL career behind, he gave up on everything, so finding a girl in his bed is a relief. Then I realize who she is and everything changes.

Missi was my sister but she's all grown up now. I can't help the way she makes me feel and I'm damn well not going to feel guilty about it.
I know there is something she’s not telling me, though, but whatever it is, I’m going to do what I do best and protect the ones I love for as long as I can.

Foster Brothers is a 55,000-word standalone MFM MENAGE romance novel with a happy every after.

Okay

I think there should be a cut out of something. There's way too much going on here. One guy, Flint, is an MMA fighter. Hudson is a retired quarterback, but it doesn't say why he is retired until close to the end, which is included in the "too much" category. Missi has a shuttered past, with a villain chasing her.

I had to ignore most of the sex. The Mènage didn't happen until the end, as an afterthought in the final chapter and the epilogue. I skipped them both. It was awkward. Dear author, please pick and choose what you want the focus of the plot to revolve around, the careers of the love interests, the chase of the villain, drama, randomize Internet connections that ended coincidentally, or their fostered past?

The pace isn't consistent. It started slow, gradually sped up, and ended in a major rush.

2.5 rounded to a 3
It was ok. Just kinda bland. Another problem I had the author never mentioned birthcontrol, im only ok with this if it resulted in a pregnancy or std but this one didnt... I get that this is a fictional book but I personally like when authors try to show in some way that the characters are adults who go about intimacy maturely (like discussing if they may have something-which this book did do, if they need to use condoms, or if there's any hard limits- which this book didnt do)because even though this book is 18+ doesn't mean that younger ones won't read it. So they need to see the mature way of thinking about sex and the possible concequences of not going about it in a safe way. Anywho this doesn't detract from the story but it does in the rating I'll give it (I usually just deduct a point).

Heart-rending, emotional story of reconnecting. A great debut!!!

What a great debut book for Samantha Twinn. I am blown away with a solid plot, emotional depth, and well defined characterization. This story is raw and beautiful, drawing a picture of the the harsh reality our protagonists have endured is beyond heartbreaking.

Foster Brothers is a story of reconnection for foster siblings Hudson, Flint, and Missi. Though the foster system is there to protect young children, my heart broke to read of about Missi, her path defines the extreme end of what happens to unfortunate kids. Lonely and alone, Missi somehow finds Hudson online, but they only know each other as Raven and River, their chat room personas. It is online they can pour all their inner demons, regrets, and hopes. Both River and Raven, (Hudson and Missi) are growing an emotional connection online, but keep deep-seated secrets from each other. A chance meeting brings these two together, and Flint, Hudson’s younger brother. These three have been separated as young children, tearing the fragile bonds of their childhood, with Hudson and Flint shipped off to one foster home and Missi to a different home, but they never forgot each other. When the realization that they’ve finally find each other, Hudson, Flint and Missi are elated but also have mixed feelings about the relationship and confused about their mutual attraction, now as adults. Will memories of how they were as foster siblings translate to how they are as grown adults? Will the sizzle between them be enough to break the barriers of a taboo relationship? Though there were quite a number of grammar errors, it didn’t take away how much I enjoyed this book.

Foster Brothers is perfect blend of story, sexy goodness, and drama, along with all the feels. It is written in first person POV for Hudson, Flint, and Missi, so you get all the emotions and backstory. Ms. Twinn really sucked me in from the beginning and I could not put it down, it was so good. Definitely look forward to more of her work. Wonderful debut, Samantha Twinn!

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This book was ALMOST okay in concept. Except--

1) I hate these romance covers,
2) All these "dark romance" novels are the same: Privileged white girl in trouble gets saved by super privileged white dudes,
3) OR, from time to time, white girl in completely contrived, overbaked Law and Order: SVU scenarios and heavy-handed, ignorant portrayals of poverty. Because its so much easier to write about people with money.

Not to mention how horribly paced the story is. Missi doesn't find out what Hudson's issue is until the last third of the story. There's all this messy buildup with chat dialogue inserted in the story and Raven/River and whether or not Missi knows Hudson is River and whether Hudson knows Missi is Missi and ALSO Raven. The fitspo theme is just enough to make me gag. Sometimes I understand why people rag on romance writers for writing about men with "perfect bodies", with six packs and huge penises.

Two stars for minimum effort.

GOOD READ

Spice level 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ (out of 5 🌶️)

This is a 💛M/MF BOOK 📖

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "If 'Book Hangover' was a medical diagnosis, I’d be in the ICU right now. This story hit every single emotional note with the precision of a world-class orchestra. It has that rare 'vacation magic' where you forget your own name for 300 pages and then wake up at the end feeling like a brand new person. A true 5-star experience is supposed to feel like a high-end holiday for your imagination, and this one delivered a first-class ticket. It has that sense of completion that is so hard to find where every thread is tied, every emotion is earned, and you’re left sitting in silence for twenty minutes after the final period just staring at the wall. It’s that 'magical vacation' vibe where you’re sad it’s over, but you’re so filled with the warmth of the journey that you can’t even be mad at the flight home.

First story I have read from this author, but won't be the last.

I really enjoyed the concept of this story, and loved that they were all overcomimg obstacles, rather than wallowing in self pity.
I loved that the characters were able to reconnect after so many years apart, and I loved the dynamics between them.
I did feel the author started to rush towards the end of the book, and thus the last couple of chapters were riddled with editing errors that weren't there in the start.
All in all though, I did enjoy the story.

Brothers.

Overall I thought this book was okay. It was actually lacking in on the MFM and sex action though. Most of the book everything was done separately until the end then it seemed like it was the most natural thing in the world. I was a little confused about emotions and feelings in the book. I know both brothers expressed love for her as a sister but then it gets confusing. I would have like more emotion and details. I did like the story overall and the characters were pretty likeable. Overall I enjoyed.

Just ok...

To the author...fire your proofreader. There are several grammatical errors and it is distracting. The story was just ok. The online conversations seemed out of time and distracted from the overall story. Hudson's brooding nature seems out of place until we finally find out why. It could have been handled in a way to help readers feel more sympathetic rather than him coming across as a jerk. There is so much missed potential in this story and a good editor would have helped hone it to a shine.

The story of Hudson, Flint and Missi is a deep captivating read. All three were foster children together until they were torn apart by the system. Flint and Hudson amassed great wealth between them and Missi definitely did not get a good foster parents that allowed her to be happy. Missi ends up on the run from her foster father Donnie and the story continues. A chance meeting with Hudson and the story develops. This is a highly recommended five star read.

Samantha Twinned excellent story

This book was amazing, I've read one other book by Twinned which was hot and steamy but didn't have as much heart and love as this one does. Don't get me wrong still hot and steamy but characters you want to keep going, for their story to continue because it's so great you don't want to leave them. Excellent book and a must read

So so good

This was a sad sad story with a super HEA. I never thought in a million years that Hudson had a brain tumer. Have a family member diagnosed with one I under stood him and his wishes. My family member didn't fair as well and has lost a few brain functions. So this story hit home hard, highly recommend this book.

Very moving story

Wow, this sad so heart rendering. The pain And sorrow that all of them went through is so unbelievable. This is such a emotional experience to read. Very different from other MFM stories. The characters are laid bare for you. Highly recommend!
