Just finished reading the book on Resilience, which I loved. Very interesting to read about top CEO's and companies who have fallen from grace and their strategies to pull themselves back up, much of which can be applied to all of us non-CEO's. Great subject matter and also enjoyed that each chapter was written by a different expert. Not a book to be raced through, I read a few pages at a time and chewed on them for a bit.

Great collection of HBR essays centered around 4 topics of emotional intelligence: empathy, mindfulness, happiness and resilience. The variety of authors made for interesting angles and takes on each subject from a business perspective but also personal life value.

I enjoyed nearly all of the pieces. A valuable use of time to delve into these areas and better understand them.

I picked this book up at the airport bookstore- I was curious to know how people in the business field understand social science concepts like resilience or empathy. The book series is heavy on research and still readable. The application of emotional intelligence concepts to business and work is impressive. I enjoyed the succinct and practical presentation of major fields of study. It made me think of a series that could apply the same concepts across major various vocations. Such as joy from the experiences of engineers, cafe workers, landscapers, librarians, lawyers, teachers, etc. A good book stimulates new ideas!
