Christianity Disproved: The conclusive proof that Christianity is false.

Rate this book
Christianity affects all of us, our country's laws are written to comply with it, our societal norms are dictated to by it, and bigotry that affects us all stems from it. Christianity does all this but who has ever looked to see if it is true? This is a fundamental question and no one has yet set out to prove or disprove Christianity. Until now. From inconsistencies, absurdities, errors, contradictions and adult make-believe this books shows how the bible is false and thus that Christianity cannot possibly be true. This book examines claims in the bible against fact, and it asks deep questions of how the bible mandates that we should live. If you have ever wondered how you could know that the earth is older than 6000 years, or that Noah's flood could not possibly happen, or that the biblical creation story and ten commandments have critical flaws then this book is for you. If you are a Christian and you have questions about your faith then this book is for you. It will set your mind at ease that you will not face judgement day and it will help free your mind from the shackles of indoctrination. If you debate with Christian friends then this is your kryptonite for Christians. If you are a woman or from a lifestyle minority then this book is for you too. Especially for you. Voices of reason, logic and compassion are ever more important in today's complex political landscape. Read this book and understand why humanity should call time on Christianity and why we will all be the better for it.

Helpful for deconstruction

Thank you so much for this book. I have been struggling to deconstruct my faith and this is just what I needed. I am have been struggling with horrible feelings of being gullible for far too long. I grew up Amish, with a pretty horrible childhood. There is so much horrific stuff that happens under god rules. I hope I can be the person my kids need to be and show them how to live life outside of the cult I grew up in. Thank you~ I’ve never written a review about any book.. that should tell you what this meant to me.

A compelling read from start to finish. Tastefully presented and factually accurate as far as I can tell.
I would recommend this book to most people.

Excellent, but needs editing

Well organized, and the arguments are intelligent and thoughtful. This is really a four or five star book pulled down a rank or two by wobbly syntax. I’d still recommend the book, in any case. It’s got something important to say, and bar the odd awkwardly constructed sentence, it says it effectively.

Great read

Have never been a big believer in the bible. It is hard for me to believe at some one knows everything I do. If god is so great, why is christian s only 30 percent of the world population. This read just helped me answer why I think the Bible is not true.

Brass tacks

This is truly one of the most concise and straightforward explanations of the fallacies of Religion‘s that I have read.

Overly simplistic ideas, badly written, and very poorly edited

Wow, nothing new here. The author's zealous presentation of truly unremarkable information is laughable. He continually writes that there is just not enough room in his book to expound or delve deeper. It's only 195 pages..... I could have used more expounding and/or delving.

Further, this author seems to equate political conservatives with right-wing Christians.
Just one egregious example from page 92:
"Why should this be so? Why is it that Christians are not petitioning to hold slaves because of their religious beliefs? Imagine the labor saving that a Christian factory owner could make? Slavery is a consistent theme throughout the bible and one would expect picket lines of Christians campaigning for slavery to be reintroduced as it is part of their religious freedom. There should be national debates, the issue taken up by right wing politicians and billboard campaigns clamoring for the reintroduction of biblical ways, a return to the morality that gave us the bible in the first place."
This is incredibly offensive to me and other conservative government or libertarian advocates. It's offensive on so many levels (that have nothing to do with my non-Christian status) that I can't even enumerate them all!

Previous reviews pointed out the straw man fallacies, and this book is rife with them. Almost every argument made is a straw man argument. And here's the thing: I agree with his arguments! Just not his framing.
Here's an example (out of literally dozens) from page 145:
"Why do Christians feel that they have the monopoly on love? If it was just those people with a belief in God that felt love, then perhaps their argument would have had a point."
Who ever said Christians feel that they have the monopoly on love? These types of arguments are logical fallacies and are unsophisticated and immature. Most first week debate students know this, yet Sawyer does this on almost every page!

To make matters worse, spelling is atrocious, punctuation is almost nonexistent, and there are grammar errors throughout.

Second star only because two thoughts presented were provocative enough to actually catch my attention and generate some interesting contemplation.

Very Well Written Piece On Deconstructing Both Christianity, & Religion(s) As A Whole. While A Minor Gripe, The Editing Could Have Been Slightly Better, Hence The 4 Star Rating.

The Book, While Making The Case For Objective, Scientific Analysis 🆚 Ancient Biblical Narratives, Likewise Demonstrates The Author's Perspective On What A World Looks Like Through A Lens Of Secular Humanism, & Not Morality Prescribed By Any One Religion, Or Its Accompanying Dieties. 🧠 🆚 🛐

Apart From Frequent Humorous Undertones 😆, I Equally Appreciated The Author's Challenge To Apologetic Talking Points (Many Of Which I Had Adopted As A Christian) - Most Of Which Were/Are Dispelled Through Basic Critical Thought. 💡

The Main Take-Away From This Piece I'd Say Is: You Don't Need A Religion, & Namely, The Fear Of Eternal Condemnation To Have A Moral Compass, Especially Considering The Manifold Horrors That Have Historically Been Committed In Jesus' (And Other God's) Name.

A very clearly and touching book.

There is nothing I can say bad or wrong about this book. Sig Sawyer shows much love in his writing. While I know you will never come across this review Mr.Sawyer, your apology to those whose intellect you may have opened to reality really isn't needed. For over 3,000 years of Abrahamic belief nothing good for humanity has ever come from it. No one has ever apologized to me for their hatred, yet I have become a much more moral and compassionate human. And I have freed myself from all the evils of Abrahamic belief. Maybe some hard love from your book will free others.

A great read for anyone who needs rational support for being an Atheist.

I have been an atheist for 40 plus years, but I needed a refresher as to why . I live the Bible Belt .... specifically in Texas where our state government has passed a law requiring the Ten Commandments.to be displayed in public school classrooms. I needed to read something to convince me that I wasn't the crazy one for thinking this is bad idea. This book gave me what I needed . I'm not the crazy one.

I think my Kindle Unlimited copy was a bad one, because the formatting was junk and the grammar was atrocious in some spots. However, Sawyer brought up some very good points in his essays on why Christianity is false. The reality of the situation is that the church has been wrong more times in its history than it has ever been right, and it's time Christians take a step back and realize they need to study more than just the Bible if they want to be well-rounded citizens of Earth.

The author says all the right things -- but he does not say them very well. His knowledge of English grammar is weak, and his punctuation is worse. Some pages require an effort to read, since the ideas are trivial and expressed in tedious prose.

That said, there is much there that I wish every religious fanatic would read. It might change some minds.

This book needs an editor and a major rewrite. It could have been a great book.

This book makes a lot of good points and appears to be well researched. Even if a person is a Christian and believes in God, this will make one wonder how accurate some parts of the Bible are, however, this book, nor any other, in my opinion can factually with evidence disprove God. There are so many books that claim to prove God exists and so many that claim to disprove God, but in my opinion there is not enough evidence to clearly prove either side. Overall, this is a very interesting book.

Good facts

I like the authors facts on the Bible, it was well presented and explained. Some facts I did not agree with is hitlers religion at birth and how followers of Judaism, Christianity and Islam follow the teachings in their holy books.

Using Wrong version of Bible

If the Author wants to make better arguments he shouldn't be using the NIV. The Official Catholic Bible is the Douays-Rheims or Latin Vulgate. I check his quotes and they don't match up or are taken out of context to suit a narrative.

Good solid information. Could provide more detailed information but the logic is solid and straightforward. Very little attacking, just steady points.
