You might have seen me on TV a few times, on commercials, on cereal boxes. Yes, I'm the Magnus Fuller. Some people call me the best Quarterback in the league. Other people just call me the cockiest guy in football.
I win games, period. That's all that matters.
At least that's all that mattered until a bad play ended up knocking out some stupid fan in the stands. Now my agent wants me kissing the ass of this girl... taking her on dates and acting like I care.
I thought Cricket was just like every other woman when I first met her, but she's not. She's not impressed by my fame and fortune. In fact, she doesn't seem like me at all. And that just makes me want her even more.
I've got to get my head back in the game, but it seems like the only thing I can focus on lately is her.
Not a bad little story. It was a quick read. I liked the heroine. It did take some time for the hero to grow on me, however. I did appreciate getting the chance to see him grow over the course of the novella. Things developed fairly quickly between Cricket and Magnus, but it didn't seem TOO rushed. They had great chemistry and super hot sexy times.
My only complaint is that there were a few inconsistencies and grammatical errors that almost took me completely out of the story. This one would benefit greatly from a good once over by a copy editor. Still not a bad way to spend an hour and a half and 99¢ though.
Boring, predictable. It went a direction I hate with the It just had nothing new or interesting happening. No real drama except for that "secret" she was keeping.
This exceeded my expectations. Given its short length, I wasn't expecting much. I've been on a little bit of a novella kick recently and have become inured to underdeveloped MCs. While the MCs in this book weren't the most developed, they weren't flat either. I especially liked he h and how honest she was and not easily swayed by good looks or money.
Another point for this story was the lack of insta love, pet names, and swearing. There was a little insta lust, a few pet names and swear words, but that's it. How refreshing. The MCs also got to know each other before beginning and intimate relationship. Judging by the cover, it was a shock.
Overall, I'd recommend this if you like football romances. As far as they go, this one isn't bad. The epilogue was sweet too. However, there is a safety exception and it made me dock half a star.
It all started with our h getting smacked in the head with a football thrown during a Cowboys vs Jersey game. Little did they know that unfortunate incident would launch them into their HEA.
Was it a total original story? No. But I can count on my hand how many "original" sports romances I have read this year and still have plenty of fingers left. It isn't about the story being original at this point it is about being able to relate to the characters and care about their journey. I am SO happy this wasnt an insta-love. Did it make me want to beat our H over the head with a frying pan? Yeah! But it felt much more realistic then a play boy becoming a perfect Boyfriend over night.
This story also had lots of game time. I love me some Football and enjoyed all the time we spent on the field with our QB.
The inconsistencies, typos, and errors were abundant in this book - starting with page one. That really drew me out of the story, making it tough for me to really get into it. If this book would be copy edited, I’d probably give it two more stars. But I quickly liked our heroine Cricket, which kept me reading even though I’ve read a shockingly similar relationship progression in so many other romance books. I only wish Magnus’ personality really progressed — his shift from total asshole to relationship material (and Cricket’s changing feelings toward him) didn’t feel authentic at all.
At first the author seemed to be rushing things with Cricket and Magnus but the story developed beautifully and was an enjoyable read loved the reconciliation with his father
I usually like books with a lot of sex. I mean a lot of sex. This story held my interest and the sex was there if somewhat muted. I felt the characters were genuine and the dialogue snappy. Fun read.
Story was good and well written. Characters could have used more development, and there were a few errors, so the editing was off. All in all it was a good read and I will read this author again.
Predictable. Not a bad read but get little depth. Too good to be true but a nice HEA. It’s a good read for a summer day out by the pool. Don’t expect to get caught up in anything though
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book Oh what a beautiful story. Quarterback Magnus Fuller and teacher Cricket Monohan are so meant to be together even though they have a rough start. Getting hit in the head is not a good idea when watching arrogant, cocky Magnus at a game. At first, Cricket thinks he is an arrogant, big headed, womanising jerk. Then she finds out there is more to him than she realises, not forgetting he is hot, sexy and smells sooo good. A brilliant story of two people getting to know one another, so alike and dealing with the trials and tribulations of life, the paparazzi and an unexpected little surprise. Really enjoyed this.

Rough Play is a real page turner! I did not realize that being a spectator was such a physical and hazardous hobby. It did work out well for the couple in this story. The romance is hot, and the story is wonderful. There is lots of drama and suspense with the perfect happy ending.
This was a very good story. I didn't care what he did at that party and he started to slip down notches in my mind, but he makes it up. It's a lot better than other romance sports books thank god because I was about ready to give those up. Got sick of the man whore guys in those books which are all the same nowadays. At least this book is a huge step up. This book has romance, sex and some drama and a girl (h) who doesn't let someone walk all over her.
Magnus Fuller comes across as an arrogant quarterback for the Giants. Cricket Monohan is a literature teacher and a huge Cowboys fan. When a stray, tipped pass hits her during a game between the two teams, their lives are about to change. I am a huge sports fan and loved this story of a man who is much more than what the public sees and a woman who never thought she'd fall for the conceited player.
If you love football like I do and if you love the Cowboys - you will totally enjoy this book. It is not that it focuses on all the football talk and plays but it is the little things of how playing various teams in your division makes you passionate. Love Cricket's character and how close she is to her family. I enjoy the journey Magnus and Cricket go on. Sometimes we don't know what road to travel but fate definitely pushes us in the right direction!!!!
