Time Amazon #2

Confessions of a Time Traveler

Rate this book
History's not what it used to be.

Ariyl Moro, the gene-powered Amazon from 2109 A.D., drags David Preston, archaeologist, back to ancient times to help her fix some broken historical events.

But after an epic night together, Ariyl vanishes, leaving David her Time Crystal . . . and a clue that might lead him back to her . . . in the camp of a Mongol warrior princess . . . or a harem in medieval Baghdad . . . or a monstrously mutated 1950s America.

Note to
If you believe that climate change is a hoax by China, or think that anyone who endorses this belief is qualified to be U.S. president, it is only fair to warn you that you will not enjoy this tale. Please don't spend your time and money on it.
Thanks,

Great writer

I loved this book as much as the first one. I'm going to start the next book, post haste. I love this author.

Great story if you are at all interested in time stories. In fact, all of this author's Time Amazon books are a joy for a time junkie, like me. The author obviously spent a generous amount of time on research because of all the interesting historical data sprinkled liberally throughout the stories. Yes, I read all of them. There are three books in the series, with another alleged to be under development. I sincerely hope it's published soon.

REALLY GREAT BOOK!

This book is the second in a series, and both books contained everything that I enjoy in a book; time travel, adventure, no explicitly detailed sexual content, historical content, romance, comedy, mystery, and nail biting suspense. The narrator should have read the books beforehand, so that she wouldn't have mispronounced so many words, and she would have done much better if she would read with expression. Luckily, I had purchased the Kindle edition and read the book along with the narration. Please don't let the narration keep you from reading this series. I still gave the books 5 stars, because I couldn't put the books down once I began reading them. Immediately after finishing the first book, I bought the second one, and read it without stopping. I sure hope the author, Doug Molitor is working on a third book in the series.

This series keeps getting better. Goodreads says I have the Kindle edition which is incorrect - it is on my Nook, but I can't reset it. Ariyl is sent back in time to prevent Lincoln from being killed at Ford's Theater, and succeeds; but that causes yet another change in history which reverberates through the years. They end up going to the Greek Olympics in 432 BC, and various other places. Ariyl leaves David her time crystal and a clue to her whereabouts, which leads him to the Mongols where he meets a princess that nearly matches up to Ariyl. He eventually finds her in a harem in Baghdad. Later they find Ludlo, still alive, has captured Dylila and is torturing her. Ariyl is determined to free Dylila, as they fight in an America where Strom Thurmond is the president! And lots more....

What can I say about a book I eagerly awaited for 2 years?

To begin with, I can say that it's fabulous. I used the internet to fact-check some of the historical figures and events described, and was blown away by the author's knowledge. But wait, there's more! Sorry to sound like an infomercial, but I wouldn't want anyone to think this book is all about the past. It's also chock-full of relevant current events and possible future scenarios. All of this is told with the humor and wit that one would expect of this author.

Best of all, he leaves several loose ends that leave me certain that a 3rd book in this series is on the way. I eagerly await it.

Loved it!

Like the first book, I was intrigued by the travel through history! You came to know the main characters bit by bit and thus to care about them. I love history, so this was a delight for me imagining each of the views in each historical setting. The explanation of the time travel variables left me a little fuzzy, but then I am not a scientist. Most of all, it was fun reading...these days we all could use a little more fun!

Excellent reading

I loved Book 1 and 2. The dialog between Ariyl and David is priceless. Listing all the people from history of the 1950's brings history to life. Looking forward to the next chapter.

Really enjoyed both of the books in this series and can't wait for the next book. The trip to Hollywood of the mid twentieth century and the world of movie monsters was brilliant.

Fun and silly and a great new take on historical fiction. These books are pretty funny and fun to read. They're outrageous in all the good ways.

3.5-4ish stars...

Good parts: future women kick ass out of klan members (basically - an association that is klan on steroids with organized power), main characters foil plot of other time traveler Ludlo once again, another run in with movie stars from the great 40s era who help save the day, and more detailed interesting major events of history dove into (including the fall of Bagdad and a height of Mongolian power.)

Cons- even though the author and main character clearly sees themselves as against sexism and racism, and there are some great blows there that are clearly made to openly and loudly stand against such, and some of the scenes could be argued to be portraying just other asshole enemy characters as the ones that buy into such bullshit (to which they are challenged by the characters facing it or sometimes by David (mc)), some ways the main character sees the world/thinks about it fall deeply into problematic territory (objectifying, stereotyping, slightly fetishizing?) (between the every woman has big knockers and every thing the wear shows them off obsession to a bit about the way Shadow Moon and Delilah are seen) (even when it's challenged, it's just not endearing enough for our MC David. At his best he's in awe of them, but like, a bit of a pedestal issue meets some presumptive thinking).

It really detracts from an otherwise great story/plot (which I do think is riveting, even if sometimes it does feel like it's following the advice of "just keep putting obstacles in the MCs way/keep brainstorming ways their plan can go wrong to up the dramatic ante" to the extreme.

I guess I'm going to keep reading though as I really need to know what happens, and it is pretty satisfying book one they kicked the shit out of nazis, and book two they kick the shit out of clansmen.

This is the second book in a 4-book series. The first book was okay with minimal politics. This book, however, is a different matter. The basic problem with this book, as well as the first one, is that the time traveling is all over the place – back and forth, back and forth, past, present, future, all over the place – making it impossible to keep up with the ever-changing timelines. Another thing I didn’t like, is that this is more of a Marvel Comics-type story than a sci-fi time travel yarn. It seems like the time-travel is just a background for all the superhero-type action, of which there is plenty, with a Wonder Woman-type character defeating all the bad guys in never-ending brawls. If you like that kind of stuff, then you may enjoy this book. Then comes the politics. It seems the author just couldn’t resist injecting his left-wing politics into the story with some absolutely ridiculous alternate reality scenarios (including some wild global warming doomsday lunacy) where of course, all Republicans are evil monsters and the Democrats are the heroes. If I had known the second book in this series would descend into this polemic, I never would have bothered reading the first one.

Fast paced sequel, keep reading!

I had the unfortunate incident of having my iPad get unsynched to the last page read on my kindle... not something you want to grapple with in this series. But the books are so good I want to sneak off and read whenever I can!

This should be a series! I never watch series... just read but the cinematography in my head based on the great story telling is awesome. Makes you wonder if maybe you were there.

Not as good as the first book. This book has the feeling that the author is attempting to recapture lightning in a bottle. While it still has humor and wit, it either got old or is simply not as much so as the first book. The story itself was a fun read, and because of the nature of time travel confusing at times to follow, it all ties up nicely in the end.

Another fun time-romp, mostly light-hearted with elements of danger. Because of the author's backround, there's another extended stay in "Golden Age" Hollywood, which was fun. This volume is more closely tied to the "real world" - I look forward to the next book.

I really wanted to give this book a better rating but the author brought up modern-day politics and that turned me off.

I read books to escape from reality. Now, I have no desire to finish the series.

Lame

Don't bother. Clearly written by a submissive male who fantasizes about being dominated by a woman. Wish I could get my time back.

Great, fun story

I enjoyed this because it was a fun and interesting read. I enjoy how the author tries to remain true to Science Fiction yet still entertains without becoming ridiculous to trying to expose scientific inconsistencies.
