Language learners need to know how they process learning material. Such knowledge is vital not only for learners but also for language instructors who must endeavor to synchronize teaching methodologies with students’ learning preferences. It is of critical importance for learners to be familiar with their ‘comfort’ zones and seek opportunities to get out of these inhibiting zones and try out methods they have tended to resist in the past. These considerations and more constitute the subject matter of Nuts and Bolts of Second Language Acquisition. We have shed ample light on the role of motivation in the foreign language classroom, habits of highly effective language learners and the pragmatics of mastering a foreign language. This is our contribution to ongoing debate on best practices in second language acquisition.
