WOW! I am so glad I took the time to read this book. It is a huge book but valuable and full of things I can use in my classroom. This book would be great for teachers who are struggling to make reading instruction more engaging as well as for teachers who teach struggling older readers. I highly recommend this as a book to read, mark, and refer to often.
Such a great book, wow. I wasn't sure what I was expecting when I checked this book out from my local library, only that I was hoping that it would let me review some of the basics for my upcoming exam. Instead, I found extremely thorough and detailed lists of anything related to reading that one could possibly think of. It was a fascinating compilation that not only helped me review some of the particular concepts for my exam, but was personally interesting (as I am a huge words nerd) as well. Love it!
WOW. A must have for any educator. I am a Dyslexia Therapist and will use this book daily. It would be awesome for classroom teachers to implement various instruction from enhancing learning to struggling learners and ESL/ELL kiddos. This would be a great resource for interventions, parents, homeschooling, and tutors. I believe this books give you and students the "why" they need in order to succeed in reading, writing, phonics, and phonemic awareness (along with much more). But wait, there are lists for mathematics, science and social studies too! How did I not know about this sooner? It is a k-12 AWESOME book/resource! I would recommend this to anyone and everyone.
This book is a compilation of anything that you would want to find out about, reading, words, books, etc. I have enjoyed looking through this book, and think that I need to own it for reference. It is a wonderful guide for all things to do with words.
This is an impressive book. In a way, it is too comprehensive for me. There is just SO MUCH information here that I found myself a little bloggled. I doubt many teachers need to own this book. But, every elementary school librarian should buy it for the professional collection.
The title is a bit of a misnomer. In actuality, this book offers much more than lists-it contains a plethora of valuable information and tools for all areas of the curriculum.
Just received this yesterday and started skimming through it. All I can say is "WOW." Every English teacher and homeschooling parent should have this book.
I read this book so fast. lists of words for different ages, subjects. some lists are fun, some silly and many informational. lists that will be used for writing and for reading.
