Bethesda Softworks LLC is an American video game publisher based in Rockville, Maryland. this book was very informative!! it explained not only the decisions made in the production of preys art style but why these decisions are made when making a video game in general. i learned a lot about how art in a game influences the gameplayers mood and direction and how that applies to the use of the art deco style in prey and other chosen elements of the environment. the drawings of the concepts that didn't make it into the game or that evolved into something else were very interesting as well, and i loved all of the pictures of the different areas of the game and the explanations for their designs. definitely worth the buy!!
Having logged more than 100 hours of playing time in three "Prey-throughs," I can say that the world of Prey is shockingly dark yet elegant -making it one of the most beautifully crafted games of the past decade. In this book, I was able to discover the thought process the team went through before the design elements came to be. It provided a snapshot of the immense effort of the design team and every staff of Bethesda in making all elements of the game gel together and how they cared about how these would affect the player's experience.
If you like Prey, surely you'll love this book as well. Also, if you have not finished playing the game, do so before diving in. You're probably missing out a lot because the immersive in-game experience is still far beyond this book.
La historia y la narrativa alucinante de Prey, me motivo a que buscara más información, datos y arte del videojuego. He de decir que es otro nivel de creatividad, incluso para aquellos que creemos conocer de donde surgió la insporación para este juego (¿System schock tal vez?). Ampliamente recomendable.
A great view on the development of Prey from the overall art style to the shape of the bleach bottles this artwork book goes over it all. If you are a fan of the game I recommend getting this book
