I knew love at first sight was real. It happened to me when I was eight years old.
All my life, the only thing I wanted was to be a princess and for Owen to be my prince.
He moved away when I was young and it devastated me, but he came back right as I turned twenty-one.
Now that I was an adult, things were different. My feelings were no longer a crush. It was love... and it was reciprocated.
After he gave me a taste of what it meant to truly need, I wasn't going to let anyone tear us apart.
Not even Owen's best friend — my father.
** Wants & Needs is a steamy romance novella with no cheating and a happy ending. Each book in the Love at First Sight series can be read on its own. 18+ **
I'm going to be very brief, the heroine loved the hero for years but he was older and he was with other women while she stayed true. Yes, I understand that she is young and he wasn't touching that but I'm just not into the woman doing all the chasing in this relationship. She goes and tells him how she feel she ask for a kiss and for sex. She even enlisted the help of her friend To help her sneak around. HE WAS SO LAME UNTIL THE END!
He just didn't do anything to keep her in his life until he decided at the end that enough was enough and he wanted to have his steady diet of SEX!
I don't care that he called her princess, I WASN'T BUYING HIS LOVE HERE!
And honestly here...
He enjoyed her physically and thought she was sexy but that's it. Without his POV THIS STORY IS WORTHLESS. I would give it less stars but honestly the writing wasn't bad just very limited and emotionless. For me anyways!
Safety: no issues other than he had sex with others while he knew her but she was too young anyways for sex or a relationship so this makes sense. I just don't like that he kept having others after he was attracted to her. This is not love for me. No condoms or mention of it. She is on the pill.
3/5 Safe with exceptions Dads BFF H known h all her life, h been in love with him since she was 8 H was engaged when h was 12, it didn't last, did marry the woman H started getting feeling for h when she was 19, was not with anyone since then H stays away for her till she's 21 then moves back and claims her No OW Drama OTT alpha male Virginia h HEA No epilogue.... wtf really!?! BOO!!
This is my favourite Love at First Sight book yet! Mia Madison is always at the top of my TBR list, because they are well-written, quick reads with sweet story lines and super hot, steamy scenes. There's always a HEA and quite often an age difference (older man/younger woman romances are one of my weaknesses!).
Ever since Charlie was a little girl, she's only ever pictured one Prince Charming in her future. Her childhood crush was on her Dad's best friend Owen and he was everything that she imagined in the perfect prince. As she grew older and her fantasies became more adult, she started to see that he'd also make the perfect partner. She assumed her crush was unrequited, but when he unexpectedly appeared at her 21st birthday party and invited her out to lunch for the following day, she feels a glimmer of hope.
It looks like a date, it seems like a date, I'm pretty sure her Mom even caught on that it was a date, but her Dad was none the wiser as they left for lunch together. By the end of their birthday celebration together, Charlie knows now that this isn't just a childish crush. It's got the potential to be real love and it's reciprocated. And that secret birthday gift? Um, yup he's all in.
Can they make it work even if her dad is completely opposed to her riding off into the sunset with his best friend?
Sexy, sweet romance between a young woman and her Dad's best friend. HEA. Older man/younger woman. No cliffhanger. Standalone novella.
I can't wait to read Layla's story and find out what or who she's been hiding!
I felt like the story dragged on for a bit and I was a little confused with the mother's reaction. Not sure what to make of it...was she happy for her daughter or not?
I WANTED to like this book more than I actually did. I love a good forbidden age gap story and I really enjoyed the first handful of chapters. It was just that… when they started to get together it really did feel like all he was really interested in from her was smex, what with giving her all the “lessons” and all. Then there was the weird hot and cold with little explanation. I don’t know, the characters chemistry (especially emotionally or love-wise) really seemed to peter out.
Sadly won’t be getting that coveted re-read shelf spot.
It wasn't bad...but you know how sometimes a book has interaction with secondary or tertiary characters whom you can't help feel must have their own book that preceded the one you're reading? I felt like that this entire story but I couldn't find other books about Finley, Brooke, or Ava. Drove me crazy. Otherwise it wasn't a bad little smutty, quick read.
I really enjoyed this book. I liked both the hero and heroine. I liked the way Owen referred to Charlie as ‘’princess’’. I liked that Owen and Charlie were quick to admit their attraction to one another. Charlie’s father annoyed me with how strict he was on Charlie. I felt sorry for her when her birthday dinner ended with her being ignored. Charlie is Finley’s little sister. I have wanted to know Charlie’s story since she was mentioned in Finley’s story. I cannot wait for more from this series. I want Layla’s story! The storyline for this book is easy to follow and I couldn’t put it down once.
Charlotte ‘’Charlie’’ knew that her father’s best friend, Owen was her prince since she was eight. But when Charlotte was twelve Owen moved out of town for a new job. Over the years Charlotte only saw Owen once a year if that. When Owen moves back to town on Charlie’s twenty first birthday, their attraction to one another is undeniable. When Owen invites Charlie round to his new house for a birthday lunch, sparks fly. Confessing their feelings for one another Owen and Charlie grow a lot closer. Struggling to hide their new relationship both Owen and Charlie realise if they want a real relationship, they will have to confess to her parents. But how will they react? Will Charlie get her prince?
Ever since Charlotte was a little girl she wanted Owen to be her Prince. Even though Owen was best friends with her father. Charlotte's father also refused to let her or her sister date so when Owen moved back to town after being away for a number of years she still wanted him. Luckily for her he wanted her too. A brilliantly written older man younger woman romance by this amazing author.
This book was good. While I liked it it wasn't my favourite by Mia Madison. I liked both characters enough but didn't really feel the connection between them. The sex scenes were pretty steamy though and I enjoyed the ending. Being a Mia Madison fan I will definitely be waiting for her next book!
It was very entertaining. I loved that Owen waited until Charlotte was 21 and acted on his feelings. And he got her out of her shyness. I didn't like that we don't know what was wrong with Layla.
Charlie hasn't ever been able to date, so she's 21 and never-been-kissed, innocent. Because Owen is her dad's best friend, he could never want her...right?
I am a big fan of the age gap trope in general, but sometimes the great moments are in the subtleties. Charlie is almost "too" young...stunted, kept really small and naive by strict parents. Owen knows that, and he accounts for it, which is lovely. Charlie may not be a heroine for everyone's taste, but her voice is strong and consistent and insists the reader confront the story in full; this is a distinct edge over many of the "New Adult Virgins" who are drawn flat, or given out of character "business" to mark some sort of backbone or quirkiness.
Well, this was such a pleasant surprise! I usually read this kind of story because they're a quick hot read. Well...this was NOT! It had a cute little plot and characters that brought me in since the first lines.
I connected a lot with Charlie. She was shy and not a people person. Maybe that's why. I also liked the fact that she was older than what these heroines in these type of books are. She was 21, a complete adult who was struggling to make some money and move out from her parents' house. Her father was a bit over the top and delusional if you ask me, but...yeah.
Owen was a cutie. The cover helped! :-)) Totally, the man screams power and control. He knew Charlie had a crush on him when she was a kid, but he thought it passed. He started to like her when she was around 19 years old, but felt dirty and grossed out about him so he stayed away from them. He was extremely careful with her, he protected her and didn't leave her behind when her parents found out. He wasn't afraid of speaking out loud as long as Charlie was there with him.
She's always dreamed of being a princess as a child and I totally loved how Owen always called her "princess". And his present for her birthday got me like "aaww".
The final was hilarious. Seriously. Give this book a try!
Hot Dang!!! Awesome book! Mia Madison certainly knows how to keep a reader hooked. The whole day running errands, all I could think about was getting back to Wants & Needs. From the time Charlotte (Charlie) was a little girl, she knew who she wanted to be her "prince". Her dad's best friend, Owen, 20 years older than her. Charlie is 19, in college and still living at home with her parents. Her dad is super strict and won't even allow Charlie to date. After living away for a few years, Owen is back and planning to stay. After finally revealing to Owen how she feels about him, that she wants him and has been saving herself for him, Owen admits he wants her too. Charlie is thrilled but how can things possibly work out for her and Owen? Charlie's father would never be ok with their relationship, right?
This is an all around good read and I thoroughly enjoyed the relationship between Owen and Charlie. Mia Madison is at the top of my list of erotic authors. I always know the book will be well written, interesting, and hot, hot, hot. Just the way I like them!
Charlie has loved Owen since she was 8yo and told her mother Owen was her prince even at that young age. Owen is 20 years older and returns on Charlie’s 21st birthday to start a relationship with her. Charlie has been very protected by her father and he has refused to let her date so even though Charlie is young and inexperienced she knows what she wants and stands up to her father for love. I loved their story and yes predictable but their chemistry is off the charts as is their love for each other. But Charlie’s father is against their relationship. Will their love survive? Past couples were in this book and it was nice to get a brief update on their relationships.
