He's just the guy to ruin her reputation…

With a high-profile job opportunity on the line, Claire Miller must go from squeaky-clean wallflower to wild party girl in just one week. To do that, she needs the help of Jason Strong, her favorite client—and secret crush. He's sexy, a notorious bachelor and just the guy to destroy this good girl's rep.

Only Claire didn't count on Jason's spontaneous streak, or that his brand of improvising could turn their strictly professional relationship into something intensely personal—and incredibly hot. Now she has to trust him with her future, her body and her deepest secrets. And hope that by week's end, she'll have him out of her system without breaking her heart…

I started off really liking this. Claire was super relatable and so often her internal conflict brought me to tears. I was invested in her arc, really wanting to see whether she could break out of the wallflower sidelines. Her arc was satisfying, for the most part, although I feel it would have been stronger if she’d recognized the truth about the job opportunity earlier. I’m also not sure about the portrayal of her learning disabilities or her concern about her IQ test results from high school. It felt ableist and not just because of how awful her parents responded to her diagnosis. There was a lot that I enjoyed about her relationship with Jason. They were good for each other in many ways.

However, what Jason did toward the end was patriarchal and unforgivable. She’s a grown woman, more than capable of fending for herself, and he completely undermined her. He lost me and I’m disappointed 1) that he did not grovel for more than a page and 2) that she accepted his explanation and got back together with him.

CW: dyscalculia, learning disabilities, toxic parents, ableism

Claire has struggled all her life but she makes up for it by being meticulous. She works hard and puts an image out there that she can do anything..but when a job opportunity comes up that she desperately wants she goes to her friend Jason to help her to be a "wild woman" He is reluctant to do so as he has always protected her because she is his sisters best friend..She also helps promote his wine bar..The decide on a five day fling...But the more time they are together it seems this is what both of them wants..they both open up to each other in ways they don't to others..When she spills the beans of how she has struggled all her life and how her parents and sister are with her she thinks Jason takes pity on her..But she is wrong..they really push each other to be better...When she is meeting with the jerk for the job she had wanted she hears Jason say some things that hurt her..but he is doing that because he doesn't want to let her go.....You want them to be together so bad and you hope they can make it work.. this was a good read.I have to say I wanted to hug Claire sometimes and tell her it would be okay...

Claire values her privacy and is determined to be the best at her job. When the opportunity arises for her to take her experience to the next level, she enlists her sexy friend and client, Jason. Will Jason give Claire the confidence she needs to further her career? Or will he spoil all her hard work? Claire wants Jason forever but does he see her as a shelf life with a one week expiration date? A great Harlequin and as always a beautiful HEA.
