Finding Me
Andy Holcomb, heir apparent to the Holcomb Oil Empire, is keeping a secret from his family. When his "good old boy" grandfather uncovers it, Andy is tossed out and disinherited. With nothing but forty bucks and some clothes, Andy leaves Texas and joins the Marines.

I really enjoyed book 1 in this series and I loved book 2, so when I found out we were gonna get a book 3 about Andy and Bryan, I was a very happy camper.
Now however, I'm stuggeling a bit with my rating. I enjoyed this book, though I have to admit...I liked book 1 and especially 2 much more. So I can't go with a full 4 stars, so I will settle on 3,5.
Andy and Bryan are both marines and they have both opted out after finishing their second tour.
They both joined the marines for shitty reasons.
Andy joined the marines when he was 18 year old because his rich parents found out he was gay. They kicked him out, after his ex boyfriend left him beaten and bloody on their doorstep. Since they took all his money and refused further support, he didn't have a lot of options.
Bryan joined the marines around the same age, because his family was dirt poor, his dad was in jail and he needed to support him mom and siblings.
Both men are looking for a job after returning from their last tour, but both are having problems finding one. The fact that they are struggeling with PTSD and nightmares doesn't make it any easier.
That is, until someone at the VA helps them with a possible job, working as farmhands on Mal's (book 2) farm. Once these two meet, they strike up an strong friendship. Coming from the same marine background really helps and within no time at all, the two of them are best friends.
There is just one slight little issue. You are not supposed to lust after your straight best friend. And a straight guy shouldn't get arroused when his gay best friend is near him.
A drunken night playing strippoker changes the balance between them, and they both make some mistakes. I wanted to knock their freaking heads together !!!
After that they start playing some kind of cat and mouse game and I have to say that I got annoyed with the two of them on more than one occassion. I wanted to scream ...FOR FUCKS SAKES...JUST TALK !!
This is a very slow build romance. Except for the drunken fuck-up, these two don't kiss until the 70 % mark. This didn't bother me. It was the lack of communication that got me irritated.
Once they do find their way back to each other, things go from no talking at all, to singing each others phrases. I think a lot of people will love the sugary goodness that followed, but for me...I had to roll my eyes a couple of times.
I still enjoyed the story though, but like I said, book 2 is still my favorite. Thankfully this book had plenty of Mal in it. I also want to advise everyone to read book 2 first. This story is written as a stand alone, but it runs around the same timeline as book 2. It will help you understand all the other characters that play a part in this book.
Now, I don't think this book really qualifies as a GFY. Sure Bryan has never been with another man, but his sexlife with women has always been shitty. He also hasn't really had the time to explore who he really is and what he wants from a lover. When he get's really horney watching gay porn it becomes clear very fast that he is either bi or just gay.
Which brings me to the steamy scenes. I have to say for me, I really enjoyed reading them. They were very hot together, and Bryan had no problems giving it up for Andy ;)
I do hope there will be more books in this series. Maybe Curtis, when they find him ?? That would be really awesome.

Darn, I hate to give low ratings, but if I could I would give this one -1 star. I rolled my eyes BIG time while reading it. I was like: REALLY?!! A lot!
The first half was extremely slow and super boring. Right after the middle of the book something switched with these MC's and the story. Things started to move. AT LAST! But all I could do was roll my eyes. Still a lot of recalling of the past. Still a lot of talking and talking and then some sex. I can't say I enjoyed the hot scenes because OMG it took them TOO much time to get there... And it didn't seem real. Like at all. It just didn't seem realistic!
I didn't like the DRAMA here. Too much added in the end and for what?! It seemed like a cheap soap opera. I didn't like the way they established they want to marry either, and some of the dialogues felt SOOO cheesy.
THIS was one of the most boring books ever. For me. Not my cup of tea! The plot, the characters, the story, the end... It just didn't work for me.

Ohh, gezz, these two were so hot and, ohhh, so sweet. I loved their innocence.
And that cover, gosh, that cover. That guy is hotter than all get out and I bet Faith used him as inspiration for Andy, nautical stars tats and everything. Here is more of him, in case you ruined your book cover with drool, as I did.
Dropped one star cause I didn't get enough sexy times with these two since most of their time together was wasted with doubts the other didn't like them 'that way' and not communicating properly. I felt like slapping them at times but they were too cute.

Ho aspettato questo romanzo per 4 anni e mezzo, da quando ho incontrato per la prima volta Andy e Bryan come personaggi secondari in Release me. Ho avuto pazienza, ma sono stata ricompensata con quello che, per me, è il libro più bello della serie. Si parla di amore in tutte le sue sfumature: quello tra amanti, quello tra amici, quello che unisce una madre e il proprio figlio, naturale o acquisito. Si parla di amore per sé stessi, che significa anche accettarsi per quel che si è. Si parla di equilibrio da trovare e difendere, perché esso altro non è che un insieme di naturali, necessari accomodamenti, indispensabili per permettere all'amore di fiorire e prosperare.
I due protagonisti sono entrambi delineati e cesellati con cura, affetto e profondità, ma se Bryan l'ho amato, Andy l'ho proprio adottato. Ferito, sfregiato nell'anima, nascosto al mondo ma così sicuro di ciò che è. Un uomo che nonostante l'odio e la violenza che gli è stata riversata addosso, nonostante una vita nei Marines, in giro tra guerre e orrori, è rimasto uno spirito puro e luminoso, le cui ombre sono solo frutto delle sue intime e comprensibili paure. Vedere la sua anima ricucirsi, punto dopo punto, sorriso dopo sorriso, abbraccio dopo abbraccio, parola dopo parola, grazie non solo a B, ma anche a tutti gli altri personaggi, è stato commovente e catartico.
Sebbene i punti di vista siano quelli dei due protagonisti e sebbene entrambi abbiano modo di presentarsi e dominare il palcoscenico della storia, tutte le altre figure secondarie sono comunque importanti e mai sullo sfondo. Ora l'una ora l'altra diventano chiavi fondamentali per l'evolversi di sentimenti e emozioni.
Una storia di marines che diventano cowboy, di cuori che si curano e guariscono, di legami intimi e intensi che vanno molto più in profondità di quelli di sangue. Una storia di rinascita e di coraggio, di possibilità afferrate e di porte definitivamente chiuse su di un passato che, così, non sarà più in grado di artigliare e distruggere. Una storia d'amore calda, luminosa, avvolgente, che qui e lì si tinge di delicata ironia o di calda passione.
Un romanzo scritto in terza persona, come più piace a me, con uno stile coinvolgente e appassionante, scandito dal ritmo dei giorni che passano, pigri o indaffarati che siano, sempre vibranti di emozioni.
Una resa italiana ottima... Insomma, leggetelo! Anche se non aveste già letto i primi due capitoli della serie, fatelo perché la storia è totalmente autoportante, ma se volete godervi tutti i volumi senza spoiler, allora partite da Deliver me 😘

Let's save us all more pain and be short and honest here. This is one of the worst books I've ever read and I would give it zero stars if I could. Save your precious reading time and money.

This to me was the weak link in the series. Not only did the story line draaaag for the first two thirds of the book, The last 1/3 seemed to be a rush to tie up every loose end known to man and we had long lost friends, and parents pop up; Will changes galore. Add to that multiple marriages and the discovery of a long thought dead brother and this was a Gumbo that was served before it was really ready.
To add insult to injury, there was so much unconscious racism in the verbiage it was mind boggling.
The author said this about a multi racial character:
"It was another one of those things he couldn’t help, like the color of his skin."
Why would we expect the MC Bryan to "help" the color of his skin? What exactly needed help? If I had to endure this supposedly breathtakingly handsome man refer to himself as "a Mutt" one more time, I'd throw up in my mouth.
This book didn't do Ms. Gibson or the series enough justice. 3 grudgingly given stars mostly based on the strength of the series.

Finding Me is Andy and Bryan's story of falling in love. They are both Marines that are now adjusting to their life after same. They quickly become best friends and have so much in common.
Although Andy is instantly attracted, Bryan is but confused. We watch their story unfold and Bryan realize he loves his best friend.
I loved their story. I loved revisiting with Mal, Cade, and their family. I loved how these two men are accepted right into their family and give them what they need. Love.
The ending was super emotional for me and can't wait for the next book. I think it's going to be a big tear jerker. Thank you faith for this wonderful story

Finding Me (The Music Within #3) by Faith Gibson This is Andy and Bryan’s story. Both are Marines back from a war that has left them with PTSD and Anxiety. They both are just trying to fit back in a society that really doesn’t have a place for them. Andy is from a wealthy family but when they find out he is gay they disown him. So he joined the Marines. Bryan has had to help his mother raise his sister and brothers. Living in the projects with a white mother and a black father who will be in prison the rest of his life was rough. So as soon as Bryan was old enough he joined the Marines to further help his mother provide for his siblings. Both guys happened to be at the VA where they meet Erik. He offers them a job at a ranch. They both decide it may work out considering their PTSD. For some reason they develop a friendship right off the bat, even though Andy is gay and Bryan is straight they seem to build a bond. The more time they spend together Andy finds he is developing feelings for his friend while Brian is struggling with trying to figure out the feelings he is having for his friend. I really enjoy this story. Even though this is the 3rd book in the series I feel it can be read as a standalone but if you want to know the back story at least read Release Me but for the full story start with Deliver Me. If you like a well told story with an emotional attachment to the characters than this is the book for you. I have to say no one can do character development like this author. Each and every book I have read by this author draws me in and leaves with a feeling of wanting to continue to learn more about the characters. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. I give this story 4.5 stars.

Miscommunication tropes- So much so I wanted to punch both MCs in the face
Inconsistent characterization of the MCs
Weird descriptions/depictions of mixed race people; the handling of race/racism in general
(Over)Telling, not showing, repetitiveness
Tragic Gay Backstory (tm)- TW for rape and disownment
This felt more like a sequel to the second book and nothing happens between the MCs until 60+% into the story. And when the MCs do finally get together (after only a few weeks/couple months), they're set to get married and it all feels rushed after the majority of the book dragging to the point where I skimmed a more than I should've and didn't feel like I was missing anything. Granted, I started the series at this book, but nothing in Finding Me makes me want to read the rest.

I like this series very much but this was my least favorite. It dragged in parts and the MC really coming together after 70% of the book was annoying for me. I loved the Lily nickname, it was adorable and not overused.

This was such a sweet story. Andy and Bryan are so nice together. We get to see Bryan's struggle with feeling attraction to his best friend who is a guy and see how Andy struggles to overcome the abuse in his past. All in all a wonderful 3rd book to this series.

Se avete letto il secondo libro, avete conosciuto Bryan Moore e Andrew "Andy" Holcomb i due ex marines arrivati nella fattoria di Mal come i nuovi lavoratori.
Un libro che oso dire più bello che i precedenti, se è possibile. Due ragazzi con una esistenza difficile, che per ragioni diverse hanno scelto di servire il proprio paese in cerca di un posto sicuro, di soldi, di di poter sopravvivere lontano dalle persone che ama o da quelle che pensava di essere amati, nel caso di Andy.
Due ragazzi che avevano una possibilità su un milione di potersi incontrare, ma come ho detto prima il tsunami ha travolto anche loro. Un ragazzino gay ferito nel corpo e nell'anima, tradito e in cerca di qualcuno di cui fidarsi. Qualcuno che lo trovasse e lo tenesse con sé.
L'altro un ragazzo etero che non ha avuto del tempo per sé, neanche per scoprire chi persona sia. Preoccupato ad aiutare la mamma a nutrire i suoi fratelli, un ragazzo amato dalla sua famiglia, rispettato, in cerca di un amore tutto suo e qualcuno di rispettabile da amare.
Due ragazzi in cerca dell'amore, di una famiglia, di amici sinceri, di un posto sicuro, di una casa.

Such an emotional roller coaster!
Two men from different backgrounds, one gay, one straight (or so he thinks), both are Marines that have been out for a while and are looking for a job after life in the military.
Andy Holcomb was an heir to the Holcomb Oil Empire until his family finds out he's gay and disown him. Bryan Moore is from the projects of Chicago and a big family that he helped raise. Both men find themselves working for a cattle ranch as ranch hands. Although their friendship is pretty solid, Andy can't help falling for his straight best friend. Although Bryan always considered himself straight, he never had a problem with homosexuality but he finds that he's developing feelings for Andy. As they try to fight their attraction, it only strengthens the more time they spend together.
Although this can be a standalone, it makes more sense if read in order because it picks up from how they found the job at AAW Ranch and all the events that happened in book 2 but from their perspective and blossoming relationship.

Nonostante la storia mi sia piaciuta e poi protagonisti pure ho trovato la prima parte davvero lunga e un continuo lascia e molla, piena di indecisioni e scritta male. Peccato perché questa scrittrice ha scritto alcuni libri davvero carini e qui avrebbe avuto del materiale per fare il botto

A chiunque al mondo abbia mai dubitato di sé per qualsiasi ragione. Il cuore di solito sa cosa vuole prima che lo sappia il cervello, e a volte serve del tempo perché i due entrino in sintonia.
Quando ho visto le uscite del mese di maggio della Quixote Edizioni, i miei occhi sono andati subito sulla cover Finding Me, lo so sono ripetitiva ma non me ne faccio un cruccio, anzi…
Le cover Quixote hanno quel qualcosa in più che prendono il lettore all’amo così come l’esca prende all’amo un pesciolino.
Una cover che dire bella è riduttivo e che solo dopo la lettura la sua bellezza acquisisce tutta la sua veridicità.
Andy e Bryan potete solo amarli, seguirli passo passo e fermarvi non appena arriveranno al luogo designato e che anelano per poter vivere dopo anni nei Marines e non solo.
Stare con Andy era come essere a casa.
Quando parliamo di casa pensiamo subito a una costruzione con muri, porte, mobili ecc, ma casa è anche quando il cuore ritrova la pace, la felicità, l’amore tra le braccia di chi riesce a donarti tutto questo.
Era in uno stato di dormiveglia quando sentì il pavimento scricchiolare fuori dalla sua porta. Probabilmente Andy stava ridendo tra sé mentre passava. La doccia partì, e lui non era mai stato più geloso dell’acqua in vita sua. Voleva essere lui l’acqua che cadeva lungo il magnifico corpo di Andy. Le gocce che toccavano ogni centimetro della pelle. Che lo accarezzavano come un amante. Avrebbe voluto riportare indietro l’orologio e trascorrere più tempo a sfiorare con le dita più che il solo retro delle gambe di Andy, o il torace e l’addome. Avrebbe voluto toccare con la lingua il punto tra il collo e la spalla prima di mordere e marchiargli la pelle per far sapere a tutti che Andy era suo. Il rumore della doccia e l’annebbiamento da alcol lo fecero infine addormentare.
Adoro chi riesce a commuovermi con le sole parole che mette in bocca ai personaggi della storia che si legge, amo quando queste parole descrivono le emozioni, i sentimenti di chi le vive, spesso ne sono anche gelosa e a ragione direi, chi non vorrebbe sentirsele dire da chi professa amore?
«Odio andare a dormire dall’altra parte del corridoio rispetto a te,» continuò.
«Voglio sdraiarmi accanto a te ogni notte. Stringerti mentre ti addormenti. Baciarti quando ti svegli. Voglio poterti tenere la mano mentre guardiamo la TV. Sono le piccole cose che ora non abbiamo quelle che voglio. Forse sto correndo troppo, ma voglio qualcuno con cui passare il resto della mia vita.»
L’amore sa sempre trovare la strada e la porta a cui bussare, il cuore sa sempre ascoltare e, guidato, sa quando aprire la porta a chi bussa.
Finding Me è il terzo volume della serie The music within e chi ha letto i primi due volumi sa che non può perdersi questa lettura.
Rivedere Cade e Mal, all’inizio avere uno scorcio di Erik, mi ha fatto venire nostalgia dei primi due volumi che rileggerò appena terminato la recensione.
Consigliato e appena potete per chi non l’avesse ancora fatto, recuperate Deliver Me e Release Me, valgono ogni momento che trascorrete su queste meravigliose pagine.

The story of Bryan and Andy is one of self discovery and new beginnings. Both men having recently left the Marines, are looking to start new lives as civilians.
Andy knows who he is and makes no apologies for his sexuality. Bryan thinks he knows, but it isn't until he meets and becomes friends with Andy that he starts to question who he always thought he was. In Finding Me, Faith Gibson allows the story and the relationship between these two ultra sexy men to develop organically. They take their time exploring their friendship and emotions and before taking the leap and let me tell that the anticipation of what we hope is to come gets your motor running!
I loved the easy way Andy and Bryan have with each other as well as the other characters in the book. Malcom, Cade, Suzette and Walter return in Finding Me and we get to see the backstory of events from Release me, bringing with them a couple of really cool Ah Ha moments. As with Deliver and Release Me, I fell in love with the story and the characters. Suzette becoming one of my favorite supporting ladies. She brings a strength and warmth to the book that takes it up to the next level.
Between the sexiness of these two men and their backstories Finding Me has stolen my heart. I loved this book and strongly recommend it to everyone that enjoys a well written story with a lot of heart. I happily rate this book 5 stars!

Faith wrangled my heart again!
I fall in love with these men with every passing book.
It took a while to click that we've already met these men. I loved exploring the same scenes and stories from different points of view.
Andy and Bryan have completely different backgrounds but are so alike. Met just before turning into best friends then working together made Andy and Bryan very comfortable with each other. Yet both start having feelings for each other but neither acts on it, afraid of how the other will react and what would happen to this friendship that they've never had before.
Follow these wonderful, beautiful men on a journey of self exploration and friendships.
I, for one, cannot wait for the next installment...I know it's coming!

BRAVO BEAUTIFUL BRAVO!!!!
Andy and Bryan have found kindred spirits in their friendship. Through the life they have found helping Mal and Cade on the farm, life is good. With the parental love from Suzette and Walt, they have healing and acceptance. This beautiful Kentucky farm that once had so much pain and suffering, has become a home of love for family and friends, who are adopted by the family. I love the character depth. I love how you get each character from beginning to end. This EPILOGUE was priceless!! That being said, I hope to see a story about Curtis. This story was just as beautiful, heartbreaking, heartwarming and fantastic as the previous two. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS AMAZING SERIES!!!!!

✔ Letto! Qui scopro cosa hanno fatto dopo che band è stata sciolta e come si sono innamorati Sloane e Pauly.
Una storia d'amore forte durata 15 anni, sopravvissuta alle groupie, alle feste, alle droghe, agli eccessi in generali.
Amore vero e solido con qualche incomprensioni dovuto anche al fatto di sentirsi un pò smarriti dovuto alla fine della band, di cosa fare da adesso in poi, ecc.
Meno male che si conoscono e sanno come far sparire i dubbi.
Bello, l'unica pecca è che sia troppo corto e secondo me i due personaggi meritavano un po' di capitoli in più, perchè hanno avuto un ruolo molto carino nel primo libro.
Ma perché non lo hanno tradotto in italiano??

Deep and well written
This story delves into the heart of one man who has been devastated by gay prejudice and abuse, and another who is fighting to find his true self. Both former marines suffering from PTSD and unemployment find ‘home’ in a ranch away from the triggers that cause them distress. The best friends find themselves searching their hearts while working through their issues. Hopefully there will be more. All three of these books have been incredibly entertaining. Mal's farm is the setting. And the characters in these stories are all about family, even if they are not blood relatives. Helping each other, listening, supporting, and loving each other has made these books very special. I'll be looking into Gibson's other books as well. There are literally hundreds of wonderful writers. So fun to discover someone who is especially excellent at it. Thank you for the amazing entertainment. Loved every minute.

Please tell me there's another story in the series. I love these characters. Dealing with life and all it can throw at you is enough to test anyone. Throw in PTSD, abuse and abandonment and you have Bryan and Andy.
But these two can get through anything as long as they're together. Throw in surrogate family who accept you as you are and you've got a very very HEA.

This is the third book in the series and is in the same time line as book 2 but from Bryan and Andy's point of view. This book tells about how each man came to be on the farm and how their friendship blossomed and grew. Showing the internal struggle with discovering your true sexual desires and admitting them to yourself and others. This is a must read book for anyone that likes the MM type of story.

I absolutely love this series. Bryan and Andy are great characters. I am in love with Andy, geez he's something. Both guys have a troubled past and each other is exactly what the other needs. Also, we got to visit with Mal and Cade. Yes, Cade! Love this series, love this book and the writing is phenomenal.
