The first four books in JC Ryan's bestselling Rossler Foundation series, available together for the first time!
The 10th Cycle
The truth about human history is about to be revealed. . . But will we be allowed to know it?
For thousands of years the truth about human history has intentionally been suppressed and exploited.
For decades scholars have been saying that the truth about human history will be found inside the Great Pyramid of Giza, but up till now no one has ever been able to find it. Those who tried have been ridiculed and persecuted.
Will Daniel Rossler and Dr. Sarah Clarke be allowed to uncover the real and true message? As they come closer to the truth, skepticism out of the academic community is replaced by evil and malicious adversaries, dumping them into a very hostile world where violence, deceit and duplicity become their daily companions. The mysterious Orion Society with its deranged and psychopathic members, the CIA, the Marines, the Mossad and even the President of the United States become involved. Not all of them have good intentions.
Ninth Cycle Antarctica
Was there a human civilization in Antarctica in the past?
Will we ever know?
In November 2002 a special U.S. Navy SEAL team is sent to Antarctica to locate and rescue a film crew that has become lost. No trace of them is found, except for film footage of strange artifacts buried under the ice. Everyone who saw the film is warned to never talk about what they have seen - EVER AGAIN.
More than a decade later, in Boulder, Colorado, Professor Charles Summers is intrigued by the discovery of a 16th century map showing the coastline of Antarctica so accurately that when NASA investigates the maps they find that they must update their own current maps. . But this map predates any record of the discovery of Antarctica by 300 years. .
Genetic Bullets
A catastrophe of biblical proportions, 35,000 years in the making.
The world as we know it is on the verge of destruction.
There is no escape. . . or is there?
The discovery and excavation of a 35,000 year old city hidden deep within the Transantarctic Mountains releases a pandemic across the globe. Within a few weeks 5 million are dead and another 10 million are about to die. Billions more are certain to die within weeks.
The Sword of Cyrus
200 million souls are screaming for revenge.
The Sword of Cyrus will extract that revenge.
This time there is no escape.
In a secret laboratory in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, scientists, under the auspices of the group who calls themselves The Sword of Cyrus, have just developed a nanotech nuclear weapon so small it could fit into a mobile phone, yet it has the destructive power of 7 Hiroshima bombs. This is the world’s most powerful and technologically advanced weapon, developed with the explicit goal to wipe out Western civilization.
What a great book. I was totally immersed in the first chapter. He moved into so many different areas and gave so much interesting info in each one I couldn't put the book down. He made it sound real and made me think. He put me right in the room with them and would not let me leave. I am not a reviewer but I can tell you this is one of the best written books I have read in a long time and I read every day. I didn't want it to end but found three more so purchased them yesterday. So many books, so little time.
First book - Good. Second book - great! Third book - terribly confusing. Fourth book - okay.
This series took some time to get into, but then it was pretty good. I’m not going to lie though, all the political talk and cast of characters it was hard to follow where I was who was talking and what they were talking about.
This is a must read for all tactical mystery readers. The details and superb, articulate, explicit information to us readers was astounding. JC Ryan kept me with him as he took me (an infant), thru a wonderful drama of a mathematician's dessert. Superbly written.
This set of books is way above my intellectual capabilities and I almost gave up after reading the Prologue of the first book. But I persevered and am glad I did as I was soon immersed into the story and wanted to know more about what was happening. There is really good tension throughout but you do need to retain focus whilst reading to keep up with what’s actually happening.
THE 10THE CYCLE
The story is about archaeology and secrets messages hidden in the pyramid at Giza, which is generally believed to have been built 3500BC.
Daniel is a reporter for the New York Times specialising in archaeology. He is investigating how the pyramid at Giza could have been built and how the stone was transported 500 miles to the build site all those years ago.
He is introduced to Sarah via a contact of his editor who the editor believed could help validate his research. Throughly the story there if an escalating romance between Daniel and Sarah who seem to be two of the nicest people you could ever meet.
The research veers away from its original track and starts to examine messages that may or may not be staring everyone in the face about human capabilities thousands of years ago. Daniel and Sarah, along with some knowledgeable helpers immerse themselves into the research in the belief that they can unveil those messages and hopefully learn from them.
A few murders later and after hostage taking and kidnapping they are extremely excited about their findings but there are people in dark shadows who want what they discover for themselves.
After enlisting help from the CIA, via Sarah’s father and uncle they establish that their lives are probably at risk and they are in need protection. But danger is still very much there and waiting for them.
Will they uncover the secret messages? Will they be able to translate those messages and understand them? Will those messages be of any use? Will they survive to make use of the new information? Will the people I the dark shadows get to them and steal the information from them? How will they manage the use of the information and stop anyone using it for their own benefit only?
Read it and find out!
NINTH CYCLE ANTARCTICA
Another research into the knowledge of the human cycles preceding the current 11th cycle. Summers believes he has discovered previously unknown details about land at the Antarctic and seeks support and funding from the Rossler Foundation.
A specialist expedition group is put together to make the trip to the Antarctic but Daniel is insistent that his brother JR goes with them. JR is a former Marine and is more than a bit wayward as a sufferer of PTSD as a result of his time in Afghanistan. Daniel is at his wits end with his brother and is hopeful that the expedition will help him cope with the PTSD. Daniel needed JR to go on the expedition to avoid a court appearance as he had negotiated a deal with the judge.
Unfortunately the Orion Society (“OS”) had infiltrated the expedition group with disastrous consequences. Subterfuge and death follow and a number of the group are left stranded in the caves they discover, presumed dead by the rest of the World, after sabotage by an OS infiltrator who was generally well thought of.
JR doesn’t show much sign of improvement on the trip and is drunk on the booze he smuggled on the trip as well as heavily involved in a physical relationship with a group member.
Arguments abound, especially between Summers and the man recruited to organise the expedition, Le Clerc. But there is also an element of romance, heroism and real emotion (the emotion will get to you, I guarantee it).
It’s a good story that gives you a real rollercoaster ride with tension and emotions abound.
I enjoyed reading it immensely and the emotion in there was palpable.
GENETIC BULLETS
The Rossler Foundation are planning another trip to the Antarctic to finish the work that was disrupted by the OS during their last trip.
However, JR is insisting on the eradication of the OS before the expedition otherwise they might be waiting for them with a bigger armed force than they had last time. He is insistent that Governments do everything they can or he will make it his personal mission to do so. Governments around the world are all sent that message.
Fortunately the Sarah’s uncle has identified an OS infiltrator within the Rossler Foundation and having made her an offer she couldn’t refuse they gained enough information to take steps to destroy OS. But as one would expect there are massive implications in the financial and business world as well as governments the world over.
So off to Antarctica again to follow up the previous expedition when they found a secret paradise hidden in what looks like a large valley. Everything is going well until it isn’t! The research staff having been chosen from either South American or Middle Eastern backgrounds so each group could run a research shift without fear of internal bigotry etc. Great idea until the five Middle East folk are taken once they have left the site and gone home for a while. They in turn are infecting their family and friends and anyone else coming into contact with them. Other Middle Eastern folk remaining on site also take ill whilst everyone else on the face of it appears well.
Clearly this illness is spreading like wildfire and the Rossler Foundation informs The President who orders a lockdown and the USA liaise Globally with everyone in order to seek a solution.
As you would expect the Middle East points the finger at the USA and accuses them of manufacturing a disease to kill Muslims as nobody else is affected. Retributions galore are occurring everywhere against non-Muslims. The fight is on in more ways that one, fight the Muslim retribution and fight to find a cure.
The cure is found but Muslims then accuses USA of trying to poison them. The story gets a bit wearisome to be honest but there’s an element of plausibility about what happens when a pandemic breaks out. So many things that happened as a result of COVID19 also happen in this book, which actually predates COVID19, especially when folk are locked down and rebel against it and when a vaccine is produced but rejected by anti vaccers for whatever their own reasons are. The difficult but understandable paranoia of the Muslims with them feeling persecuted and their typical reaction keeps the heat in the story.
It’s a tense book with a real storyline and worth reading but it’s hard going understanding the science which is way above my comprehension.
THE SWORD OF CYRUS
Some pretty dim decisions made by Rossler Foundation and the US President in this book. I mean allowing Middle Eastern folk and countries into the Rossler Foundation is just asking for trouble. Getting taken in by the Middle Easteners after just a few months without violence on the basis that they’ve turned over a new leaf and want to work together with the West to help rebuild the Middle East after the terrible decimation caused by the Virus. Mistakes like those made are unforgivable and could be worse than catastrophic. This particular storyline is quite tenuous and far fetched to the extreme. Nonetheless it gives the author more excuses to elaborate on world issues and technical matters that ordinary folk find difficult to grasp. Only a fool would fall for the ridiculous yarn set out by the Middle East. As I was reading the story I was thinking that the West will get what it deserves for being so stupid!
Some errors in the storyline too. There’s a look into the future with a number of pictures of places that have had a nuclear attack, included in those is Buckingham Palace which is definitely not in the USA, yet later in the storyline a picture emerges of Jerusalem also subject to a nuclear attack and which is stated as the first non-US target they’d found. That’s not very good is it?
The Sword of Cyrus is a group of powerful Iranians whose leader has the objective of eradicating infidels and becoming the emperor of a rising Persian dynasty. Plans are afoot to nuclear bomb every major city in the world that the Iranians see as the home of the infidels.
Lead by The Rossler Foundation the security services of the USA with significant involvement of the President along with security services throughout the world are working against the clock to stop the nuclear attacks. But the way the attacks are masterminded makes it very very difficult to overcome the problem.
OVERALL THE STORIES ARE QUITE GRIPPING AND ENTERTAINING AS WELL AS EDUCATIONAL. I ENJOYED READING THEM EVEN IF I ENDED UP WITH A HEADACHE TRYING TO KEEP UP WITH THE TECHNOLOGY AND ARCHAEOLOGICAL ISSUES COVERED. Worth reading.
Starting with a fantastic education on the Giza Pyramid , life in Antarctica and discovery of a small piece of real estate that runs barely a step behind paradise. This tale of science, humanity, and responsibility proceeds thru a period of virtually worldwide peace and harmony to worldwide turmoil. Relax! The good guys DO win and the end of the world is avoided. There is a problem though, the story ends. The good side of that two-sided coin is that all I have two do is wait until I find a read that measures-up to this one. Thank you Mr. Ryan, I hope you've not set the bar too high.
Love a good mystery and if there's some science going on, that's some delicious gravy. These four books are good... but they're too pat, too predictable and the characters are often clueless while being brilliant and just as predictable. You read these books just to discover the messes they get themselves into and how they're gonna be resolved... but as you read, yeah, you will already know the outcome.
Far to drawn out. Takes far too long to read. Found myself putting it down for few days, then going back to it.
Far to drawn out. Takes too long to read. In second book, when the first entered caves and split up in pairs it said one of the pairs was being watched by someone or something which then went back into the shadows. Nothing else was mentioned about this watcher, Why?
Creative storylines that were obviously well researched. Stories ranged around the world and went in depth on archeology and several fields of science. More time than necessary was spent on relationships and personalities. Enjoyed the whole series, but could have been shortened. Excellent editing with few mistakes.
This style of storytelling, rather like an omniscient reporter with "just the facts, ma'am," is not my cup of tea, and that might be why I disliked this series from the start. Nevertheless, I am a determined sort. I guess that's why I made it through partway through the second book. I will not be finishing, though, because this is definitely not my kind of thing. Besides the clueless sort of bumbling the characters did, the careless misogyny, the melodramatic love issues, the ridiculous villains, and the strange asides are all just too heavy to make even a fantastical idea like a coded message from the ancients in the Pyramid of Giza just not that interesting. The heavy-handed attempts at foreshadowing are no match for the complete lack of suspense. I really don't care about how sexy everyone thought the lady lead was, and the telegraphing of Sinclair and Martha falling for each other felt cheap after the whole Mark murder debacle.
Make me care about the characters, then I'll care about the story. Make me hate the characters, and I'll hope code name so-and-so survives all his blunders so I can close the cover.
They're decent, but it's basically the same story over and over. There's something to be found (in most cases archeological or technical). The Rosslers are always involved in some way in the finding. There's a group that opposes them (either in trying to block them from finding information or in trying to ferret out information that they can use for nefarious purposes). By book 4, I was ready to be done.
I wish there had been more puzzles that the reader could help solve (more on the lines of "The DaVinci Code") rather than just reading along. The author took a while to develop the characters into people I cared about. I didn't like that Daniel and Sarah slept together before being married.
This was a great series. The subject matter in the first book was always interesting to me and the author wove a great story around the pyramid. The story held my interest throughout all of the books and to be honest I wanted to believe it could be true. I found the character development was good with well rounded personalities and plots. One issue I had was in the first book I thought the development of the love interests was not smooth and not in keeping with the rest of the story. It felt superficial to me, almost scripted. However I have decided on 5 stars as the author was able to develop subsequent relationships more thoroughly. All in all a great read.
Greatest story, author's Masterpiece, Science Fiction, mystery and today's World Events Mixed to make a cant put down thriller
Greatest story, author's Masterpiece, Science Fiction, mystery and today's World Events Mixed to make a cant put down thriller. From the beginning, straight science fiction, to espionage bringing in the FBI, CIA, NSA, other intelligence agencies and heads of other Nations, page after page of fine tuned mystery. A story embellished by including much of today's political happenings and close descriptions of today's political leaders, you shouldn't miss this adventure into semi-realistic science fiction.
Having been an avid reader and a total book addict for 6 of my 7 decades, I could never begin to estimate how many tens of thousands of books and novels that have I shared dramas, wars, journeys and adventures with and have brought me vast amounts of pleasure and entertainment. Every now and then I have discovered a novel that ticks just about every positive box and stands way above the writings of other good authors. J.C. RYAN. Congratulations on a work of art. The Tenth Cycle is a masterful plot that I would recommend to lovers of science fiction, mystery and adventure, espionage and good old detective work.
I'm not gonna do a long synopsis of these four books, suffice it to say I am totally hooked on this author. I guess I'm most impressed by the amount of scientific research that went into this project. And he doesn't waste pages and pages of violence... There's nothing I hate more than non-stop car chases and guys with guns which seems to be the industry standard for books of this genre.
The scientific theories proposed here are earth shattering and have given us so much information to ponder, I personally have been ruminating evenings long after I have quit reading for the day.
I picked up the 9th Cycle: Antarctica, as it's quite similar to the book I'm in process of writing myself. I think the author and I read the same nonfiction texts, particularly Graham Hancock's works, as a foundation. He was inspired by the same possibilities I was. Unfortunately, the book read like a thinly veiled fictional overlay over the bones of the non-fiction "shazaam" moments. It felt like the point was to deliver that information and not to tell a good story; the story and the characters felt like cardboard. They were just a vehicle. I unfortunately lost interest.
This series has you on the edge of your chair while reading. JC Ryan went into beautiful details of explaining some aspects that any lay person would understand. I would recommend this to everyone who loves sci-fi, good verse evil, and intrigue enthusiasts, maybe a few others like espionage readers alike . I couldn't put this book down.
Once one looks past the intense wish fulfillment, largely two-dimensional characters, and uncomfortable levels of misogyny an interesting story can be found. The concept of a series of previous civilizations attempting to leave a legacy isn't a new concept but can easily be redone without feeling repetitious, as is accomplished here.
An extremely engaging and enthralling series of books which keep the reader on the erge of incredulity as proceses emerge and time seems to bring even ore desperate times for the Rosslerites and their colleagues. A must read for everyone who enjoys edge of the seat thrilers
I have read a number of books by the author (The Red Dalton series) and I found the first box set of 4 of the Rosslerites as entertaining as anything I've read, Yes some of the stories are pure science fiction given that we are in the 21st century but I recommend this series and hopefully read the rest.
This is a good story overall. I don't think that I would have stuck with it if they were in their individual novel form. I didn't like all of the transitions from book to book. In the end I enjoyed reading this. Good job.
These books are excellent, but are extremely long. The plots are intense, the characters are well developed, and the story keeps you guessing. The foul language and sex were kept to a minimum.
The premise of the books was good and very well described the world and it's reaction to the incidents depicted. I did think most of the chapters were a bit long tho. I also had to re-read several passages to understand their meaninf.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It was a great story that kept my attention to the very end..the author did an outstanding job fleshing out the characters and the story was too notch!
This is a very long page turner which starts in Egypt and ends in the USA. I found it very had to put down. Should appeal to all Sci/Fi readers with some interesting facts and Romance too.
Enjoyed the first 4 books in the series. Exciting events with characters that resembled real people. Especially appreciated the writing style of characters expressing themselves without resorting to vulgarity and obscene language. Thank you JC Ryan.
Too much information but worth it! So many conspiracy and numerical theories that caused so many violent ripples and endangered lives. Seemed a bit old fashioned like old 007 books but I had to finish.
Ryan is a master storyteller. Just when you think the story is dragging, WHAM, all hell breaks loose and off we go on a downhill thrill ride. Thoroughly enjoyed the Rossler Foundation series.
Please bare with me a I’m not very good at writing reviews
WOW!!! What fantastic, intriguing reads. J C Ryan keeps you turning every page wanting to discover what is next. Reading these in 2021 was quite scary, could these events actually become real?
As usual, we are placed on the edge of our chair as each book unfolds. Many surprises and interesting characters. Very detailed for those who are deeply into science or sci-fi.
