I see my other lives, a career in the Marines, those damn hand-written tests in law school, a business consultant, as if they're stories from a book. I see my books as if I lived there, as if I were friends with the characters. All things we remember are behind us, only those we imagine lie before.
I'm not sure which place I prefer, but I don't have to choose. They live together in my mind. My books have some award nominations, they have bestseller tags across multiple countries. I write about justice, honor, and loyalty because that's what I care about. My stories are mostly set within worlds that haven't been, but could be. We have to be ready for when those times come.
No matter where I went, I always had a book with me. Thanks to 21st Century technology, I now have hundreds of books loaded on my phone and always with me. This breakthrough allows me to binge read my favorites. How many books would I have read on deployments had I not had to have a physical book with me? I paced myself so I wouldn't finish too quickly.
We aren't encumbered like that now. I love the works of Robert Heinlein, Anne McCaffrey, JRR Tolkien, Robert E. Howard, and so many more. I have been compared to Andre Norton and that is humbling - she was an incredible author with a huge list of novels to her credit. With every new book, I aspire to live up to those that you, the readers, have compared me to.
Through a bizarre series of events, I ended up in Fairbanks, Alaska. I never expected to retire to a place where golf courses are only open for four months out of the year. But that's the way it is. It is off the beaten path. My wife and I get to watch the northern lights from our driveway. Our dog has lots of room to run. And temperatures reach fifty below zero. We have from three and a half hours of daylight in the winter to twenty-four hours in the summer.
It's all part of the give and take of life. If we didn't have those extremes, then everyone would live in the sub-arctic.

Awesome!
Note- I read this a couple of days ago and I am behind again. Also, I had this book set as ”not on my profile”. I switched last minute and hit ”currently reading ”and then hit ”read”. I did it this way for I screw up and did not have this book properly listed. Mostly, so the review can be posted on Goodreads and Amazon without me having to do it separately.
This is the second book in the series. I strongly recommend reading the first book to properly appreciate this book. The actions scenes in the book are awesome! One of the authors is a veteran and it shows in some many ways ( Mahalo for your service!). The cover is also awesome! This is why I give this book 4 stars. I will be reading the next book in the series.

The Band of Nomads Grows
Nomad Redeemed is just as delicious as Nomad Found, the first book in the Kutherian Gambit Series by Craig Martelle and Michael Anderle. Terry Henry Walton is pushing the little community, newly christened 'New Boulder, into Marine style defense strategies.
Char and TH are getting closer, much to the misunderstood joy of Margie Rose, who thinks they are going to produce future grandchildren for her.
As New Boulder strengthens it's capacities to produce more food, build up the towns infrastructure, and increase space for future population, Char becomes aware that her former mate, Marcus, is on the hunt for her.
Because the camp is unaware that Char is a Werewolf, THW has a great deal of trouble trying to impress upon his troops, known as the DHG, how seriously they must train, be accurate with every bullet and stay on top of guard duty.
Nomad Redeemed has quite a few great fight scenes, some major surprises and furthers the story of this group of survivors after the WWDE (Worlds Worst Day Ever). Now, on to the next book in the series.

This was a great follow-on from Nomad Found!
Unlike the first book, I was deeply into this story straight away, and literally couldn't put it down until I had read the two Author's Notes at the end :)
I'm really loving these stories now, and was amazed at the way that TH and Char finally got rid of Marcus, as I hadn't a clue how it could be done.
It's wonderful to read of all the steps involved, in starting to bring civilisation back to Boulder City and, with TH's determination, I'm sure it will be faster than the original rise for humanity.
It was lovely to get back to the first author I'd found, who led me to Michael's Kurtherian Universe, and I've been so excited at finding so very many authors who have joined these two great writers, to contribute to so many of us Fan's reading enjoyment.
It's got to the point, v where I've bought so many of the varied series that make up this Universe, that it'll probably take me a year, or more, to read them all!
But what fun it'll be for me to do so :)

I enjoyed this book quite a bit. Once again, I wasn't sure how well some Were elements of this book matched up with how they work in the Kurtherian Universe. Silver seemed to hurt the Weres just from touch in this book and left permanent damage. In the books starring BA, I remember Weres saying that they could heal from damage by silver but that they just had to get the silver out first. I thought they also would occasionally handle silver to use as weapons against other Weres. I don't recall any mention of them undergoing pain when they would handle the silver. I don't get why Craig Martelle decided that silver was suddenly super dangerous. Silver touching Weres in this book reminded me of how silver affected vampires in the True Blood series. It just seemed messed up for the Kurtherian Universe. Also, the Weres in this book mentioned that they couldn't stand the taste of meat that was even slightly cooked. In Kurtherian Universe books starring BA, Nathan for sure ate cooked food and even vegetables, although his preference for vegetables was considered odd. Still, other Weres had been mentioned eating cooked meat foods and enjoying them. I don't get why Craig Martelle decided that the Weres should suddenly only be able to stomach raw meat. That just seemed dumb to me, at least for the Kurtherian Universe. I like universal constants. I wouldn't be surprised if Craig Martelle were to suddenly decide to include something that goes against the Kurtherian Universe even more. Maybe he will suggest that Weres were actually an alien species and not humans modified by Kurtherian interference. I am starting to wonder whether Craig Martelle actually read books in the Kurtherian Gambit series and knows basic things about the Kurtherian Universe.

To build a civilization
TH is seeing some progress in his yearning to rebuild a working society out of the ashes of the WWDE. He has started smaller than many people would think is possible, but he is resolute in realizing his goal. The first men he recruits are beginning to see themselves as capable of being more than they were, with a few starting to realize that they truly want to succeed and that their lives are already better. The challenge of earning the respect of Terry Henry is becoming a goal that has real meaning.
In the meantime TH is trying to understand Char and whether she is trustworthy or not.

The second book of the series, and there is some serious stuff going on. The Alpha of the wolf pack, Char left for reconnaissance, is angry and wants to beat Char into submission and rip Henry's heart out. Since he is double Char's size and strength, most humans would just run and hide, hoping that the bad wolf will not care about them. They decide to leave the community and lead the Alpha away. You will love what finally happens but you need to read the story for yourself. I highly recommend it.

Ok....heading into numero tres....
I started this series as a way to branch out of my usual science fantasy preferences, and finding myself thoroughly enjoying the easy, but fun, read. Having served with the Marines, the military flashbacks are a bit silly and not very accurate, but I get the intent. More importantly, the character development started filling out a bit more with this second book. Keep it going. I’m piling into #3 next.

That was entertaining!
Things are moving along fairly well for our little town…until Marcus shows up to collect Char. Terry has it in his head it would be better for him, Char and some of the FDG to head out to towards the Wastelands to look for additional settlers and draw Marcus away from the town.

Love all the Kurtherian stories!
Yeah, it's pulp fiction. But I grew up on one of the greatest pulp fiction writers, Louis La'Mour. You're in good company Michael, keep up the good work and I'll keep reading the stories.

Excellent follow up 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I really enjoyed the first book and this one was even better. Lots of character development (Billy has me cracked up!). I love the author notes at the end of each TKG book it's a lovely personal touch.

Great side story to KG
I like the writing style and the character development is decently thorough without slowing down the story. As with most of the KG series, the story is meant to entertain and be easy to read and it fits all expectations.

Better than first
Glad I finally started this series. This second book as even more engaging than its predecessor. The characters have developed even more depth and the relationship between Char and TH is growing very interesting. Looking forward to the next book.

It's hard to bring back civilisation, but TH is giving it his best shot. Lots of action and a little romance are in this book. I'm looking forward to the next book.

Moving along...
One of the things I find fascinating when reading is character development: I love seeing characters grow and discover things about themselves. There is plenty of this in the TH Chronicles and I enjoyed Nomad Redeemed even more than Nomad Found. Now onto #3

Audiobook review: Plenty of mystery, action, and entertainment as Terry and crew develop into a team, take on miscreants, and take on a big bad. The characters are likable and believable. The narrator did a good job!

Another great read
Even though the writer likes to keep things vauge and not just give all the info, he is still able to build a catching and interesting experience. You just have to work a little harder to get there.

A good story!
Decent characters, good villains. It seems that the usual bad guy is only interested in themselves and not at all in those who follow them. But why great your followers like that? The different leadership styles in this story is obvious about what works better.

Great read
The TH story keeps getting better. I can't even imagine living in a post apocalyptic world but Craig Martelle and Michael Anderle really bring it to life and who better to be in charge then TH. Enjoy!
