What a FUN book to read...and D.E. - you're as crafty as you are witty! The idea alone was enough to spark my attention, but the illustrations are outrageous. I LOVED it! I recommend every member of Goodread buy and read D.E. Boone's Legs Talk!

Body Language: An Entertaining and Sensitive View of Relationships

While some my dismiss this small sized book that weds (oops!) photography and psychology as just a funny diversion, author D.E. Boone and photographer Marc Burgess (with the assistance of the gorgeous gams of model Natsuko Koizumi) have taken a serious look at why our field of dating is so bumpy so often. Using a forum of balancing excellent black and white photographs of just legs (mostly female as this is a female point of view) opposite fragments of thought that tell the story of a failed relationship, Boone informs us of at least one vantage of evaluating why both the dating game and the need for connecting is often thwarted. The fact that such minimal visual and written information can pack such a wallop is refreshing. This is a very entertaining little reflection that is both very funny and very wise.

To say much more about the content of the 'story' would remove the punch from the book for new readers. Suffice it to say that this well designed, well considered tidbit of philosophy/psychology is a novel and clever art book that is guaranteed to provide chuckles as well as support for people awash in the contemporary field of dating - and a fine gift for friends who may be there, too!

This would be an excellent choice as a gift for any admirer of chicks who wants to go light on the lit. There's one model throughout but her gams are stunning and her poses are provocative. Nothing X or R unless you can read my mind.

BTW I misread Mr. D. E. Boone's note to me, thinking he might be a chick himself hiding behind those initials. But drilling into his website I find he's a guy in Queens, which conjures other images, all of them probably inappropriate.

I now think the D and E stand for Dead Eye.

Snap on O lover of limbs!

Leg’s Talk: A Modern Girl’s Dating Tale by D.E. Boone is a small book, about 112 pages with full page black and white photographs. It takes the reader through the story of a woman in a relationship with a man who has a special interest in her legs and her legs only. It begins as most of these type stories do: girl meets boy, boy comes on very strong, girl consents, boy turns out to be a big jerk, girl walks away, girl goes back, boy is still a jerk, the end.

The book is very charming. It is a short read, though; I read it in about 10 minutes. Each turn of a page brings a blank page with writing and a black and white photograph featuring below the waist leg shots. There are a lot of shoes and stockings, every now and then sprinkled with casual jeans and boots. The point isn’t to show the faces of the two characters, only their legs. Legs are the focus, after all! If you could see the rest of the body, it would distract from the imagery of the legs. Since legs are the topic, they should be thrust into the photographic spotlight.

Legs takes a humorous look at dating. It’s a great book for anyone who has ever broken up, or has gone back to the same man over and over again. True to the nature of relationships, the book is not cut and dry about how they do or don’t work out. Within the short phrases and sentiment, you can see how confused the woman is about the relationship she is presently in with her leg fetishist boyfriend. She gives in to him against her better judgment, makes concessions to the man, and wavers in her decision to quit seeing him.

I especially like the small piece of their post breakup phone conversation when the women replies to a “have you missed me’ type question with, “How can I miss you if you won’t go away?” That small bit of wit was enough to make the book. The words are short and simple, but effective.

Legs Talk is described on the book's website as the perfect gift for a "leg man" and the perfect "get-over-him" gift. The book exists somewhere in the realm of graphic novel for leg fetishists to a very silly book of photographic portraits.

In black and white photographs of legs and feet the story unfolds. It begins starkly with white text on black: "In the beginning there were legs." The legs have gone shopping. They are shown wearing fufu shoes and are next to a pair of boutique shopping bags. From there she meets (off page) the legs man.

For the most part, the legs man is never seen. There are hints at who he is by how the legs are dressed and posed and the props too. The few photos of the legs man are clearly a woman dressed for the role. One can either see it as Legs dressed as her counterpart or as a separate character portrayed by the same model.

If one takes the text literally, the it's a case of girl meets boy. Boy and girl have a few good times together before boy turns out to be really creepy. Girl dumps boy. Boy tries to weasel back into girl's life and girl almost lets him.

Legs Talk is 112 pages long, most of which are photographs. The text takes up maybe a dozen pages. It's funny and disturbing at the same time. It can easily be read in about ten minutes but it's one of those odd books that has stuck in the back of my mind.

This book is too much fun!! This is a definite guilty pleasure that you all need. This small, short book is a quick read, but one that I'm sure you'll go back to again and again. It's an entire relationship that you can see and read about in 10 minutes tops. The book features the black and white photography of Marc Burgess, and showcases the gorgeous legs of model Natsuko Koizumi. Believe me, these legs can tell a story and that story is full of attitude and sass! This is the perfect great book for your coffee table or your nightstand. Give it to your best girlfriend that's been dumped or is doing the dumping! Give it to the man in your life when you're feeling flirty and a little naughty! You'll find a million reasons to pick this book up...not the least of which is for yourself!

In interesting photography and little more than one-liners, this short but satisfying book tells an entire story. It takes you through all the stages of the relationship in quite an artful rendition. Some of the pages are laugh-out-loud appropriate, while at others I found myself nodding in complete understanding. Altogether a lovely little gem.

This is a cute, small book. It's a book that you'd buy as a gift, and to me, it would be a cute gift to give a girlfriend who just broke up with a guy. It tells the tale of the life of a relationship and is shown with shots of legs only. A cute little book.
