Nicholas Abdilla has been writing and drawing comics from a very young age. His father was an artist and major influence and a love of storytelling made comic books the perfect outlet for Nicholas to combine his two passions. Various awards received through primary and high school and the support of his teachers and peers encouraged him to keep creating and at age 15 he registered the brand name Nick Ab's Comix to showcase his stories and art. Eventually, Nick Ab's Comix went online and built fan bases on both Myspace and Facebook but it wasn't until he approached Gameinformer with his work that he really made his mark. Gameinformer magazine began featuring his work monthly in a comic strip called 'Game Guy' that poked fun at the world of video gaming. Three years of writing satirical content gave him a yearning to go back to more serious subject matter and that's when he turned his attention to writing his first true novel. Adam X was a character he had actually created ten years prior and was an easy choice for the protagonist of his planned science fiction series. To date, there have been three books in the Adam X series with a fourth and fifth on the way. He also produces a weekly webcomic for this story published under the moniker Abzilla Comics.
Intriguing and unexpected sci fi book Getting to read great books is definitely one of the perks of working in the publishing industry. This first time novel from one of our authors, Nick Abdilla is really good. Sci fi is not the first genre I turn to, but the story immediately draws you in as you wonder what has happened to Adam and how he will escape. His journey through alien lands creates an amazing landscape in your imagination, all the while with the story holding you in its grip right to the very end. Definitely one to read :-)
I found this to be an enjoyable novel in the "classic" science fiction vein. The main character's perspective is really interesting and the author does a good job putting us inside Adam's head. I look forward to reading more by Nicholas Abdilla.

Synopsis: “Why did they kidnap me? I’m not rich. I don't have a lot of family to extort. I have certainly not been a police officer long enough to make any enemies. But instead of waking to the incessant ringing of my alarm clock back in my small city apartment, I awoke in the dirt. In the jungle. Naked. What is happening? Where are their demands?
Then I found her; beautiful and graceful, without a mark to show for her life trapped here. Wherever here is. How did she survive in this jungle? In fact, how is she keeping me alive? 14 days now, she has hunted, caught, cooked and provided without ever saying a word. She has listened to everything I’ve said, but never responds. Is she in on it? Am I in some weird experiment, or is it all a dream? But it can’t be a dream, because I keep having terrible nightmares. About bright lights, and pain, and figures at my door their voices in my head. Of jumping off cliffs, being eaten by monsters and hanging myself. How can you have such vivid nightmares inside a dream?
Then there is the X, tattooed on my head. Who kidnaps someone and then tattoos an X on their forehead? What’s it all mean? I’ve had enough! Tomorrow I’m taking control and repaying my debt to this girl. Tomorrow I escape.” Review: Another book I had to DNF. The book is interesting, but it’s weirdly written and the world building isn’t well done in my opinion. The book also has issues with character development.
~Outstanding classic sci-fi story…with twists. ~First, I’ll state that I received this book as a gift from the author to read and review. ~I am currently reading books in the “Steampunk” genre…airships, sky pirates, and all sorts of steam powered gadgets. So, I wasn’t too sure about this book at first. However, I was immediately thrust into a classic sci-fi adventure…a mysterious main character, spaceships, alien races, and a beautiful android. ~I was caught up in the story from the beginning! This book told a good story, some twists, and a whole lot of character development. I don’t want to say too much, don’t want to spoil it by giving away plot secrets. ~The main character, Adam, was somewhat of a wimpy, self-centered, ‘woe-is-me’ kind of guy. However, at one point he stepped up and gained a ‘no one left behind’ attitude. This new attitude made him a much more likeable character. And this new attitude will serve him well in the future. (I really don’t think this is the last we will hear of Adam X…I am looking forward to a sequel.) ~As the story progresses, we discover that not everything…or everyone…is exactly what they first appeared to be! This is not a story of massive military rocketships with powerfully destructive weapons fighting a large intergalactic battle. This does not mean that there was a lack of danger, excitement, or space adventure. Great plot twists…standard sci-fi concepts, but very nicely executed. ~I would not say there was much ‘romance’ in the story, however, there was friendship and loyalty…some of which could lead to a romantic situation in the future. ~This story was a non-stop roller coaster ride through time and space. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good classic sci-fi adventure story!
I was given a copy of this book from Old Mate Media in exchange for my honest review.
I want to start with my negative first...the beginning was too slow and too confusing for me. I almost didn't keep going. Give it a few chapters and things pick up.
This story is about a man named Adam who wakes up face first in the mud one day in a cave far away from home. There is a beautiful woman in the cave with him but she doesn't talk. He makes a promise to get them both free one day. After a few failed trips to find a way out, Adam almost resigns himself to stop trying. That's when everything changes.
I fear giving more detail about the synopsis will give away the whole book. It has twists and turns and I never knew how to feel. One minute I felt one way and then one action would change EVERYTHING. I can't wait for people to read this book. It is such a breath of fresh air in the science fiction world!!!
I was surprised with this book, it kept me turning the pages to see what was going to happen next. It's entertaining and I would like to know what happens to Adam and Eve. I like science fiction so it's my kind of book. I loved the way it didn't let me get bored with it. It's clever the way the author changes the scene and the discribtion of the world is quite good. It left me wanting more. I was amazed by the twist at the end, where the android switches the emotion on for a moment and it was sad. I would like to know what happens next. Loved it

Witty, pacy, vivid, and fun. Love this genre though I usually experience such as this at the movies rather than as a read. I couldn't put it down and it had me laughing out loud. looking forward to more of Adam X.
An amazing book and a great read! I loved how he added elements that made me want to read more into the facts behind this great piece of science fiction. Loved the characters and the twists. Keen for the sequel. Jay
I thoroughly loved this book and was hooked from page one! The twists and hooks made it near impossible to put down. I'm super excited for the following books to arrive so I can get invested all over again!
A sci-fi read that is unpredictable and kept me interested in seeing where it would go next. Unique concept, intriguing personal interactions which made me think about it a bit between reading sessions, there is always value in that.
Took me a little while to get into this book but once I did I couldn't put it down. Great twist at the end and definitely looking forward to reading more!
