Miami Jones is on the case again! This time he is doing it in an "old school" kinda way, reminds me of older detective books.Which is great! Miami has never disappointed me and I believe I have read them all. He is funny, but once he gets his mind set on something....look out. Another great mystery with twists and turns. Grab a copy for your self....you won't be sorry.

Another good story! Found this one to be a bit confined, and sometimes unrealistic. Confined, as in the entire story takes place in a hotel, but the characters were well defined. Unrealistic due to too many instances where the characters went out into the hurricane. Having worked on the gulf coast of Texas, I'm not one to take any chances with even a category 2 hurricane. I enjoy Stewart's style, but this one seemed a notch below the first six in the series. I hope he's not running out of steam, because I intend to read the rest of the Miami Jones collection!

For some reason, I'd taken a hiatus from reading AJ Stewarts series for a couple of years. I'm sorry now that I waited...as little did I know that #7, King Tide, would be one of my favorites. Set entirely in one location, this is a true 'whodunit' which could very easily be turned into a silver screen production. Although not an totally unfamiliar storyline, Mr. Stewart makes it fresh, believable, and very hard to put down. Unlike other series books, this one could be easily read as a stand alone for those wanting to try out the Miami Jones series.

Jones gets stuck in a 5 star hotel during a hurricane. Pretty good gig. Danielle is at the academy in Miami. Bummer. To make it worse, he is stuck with a bunch of tennis pros that are there for a bachelor/bachelorette party. If you ever enjoyed the game of Clue, you are going to really appreciate the 7th book in this series, as it doesn't take long for a dead body to turn up. Really enjoyed this one!

Shades of Agatha Christy

Stewart tries his hand at something different in this book. He focuses the action all in one place with a cast of characters one of whom, at least, is a murderer. The clues are in the history that brought them all together. Another mystery is solved. Personally, I prefer Stewart's earlier works that have more action, byut Agatha Christy lovers will get a kick out of King Tide.

Worth sloshing through!

Another fantastic chapter in the Miami Jones legend. The only downer was that for the second straight book things got way too wordy and boringly explanatory at the end. Ya almost lost me the last 25 or so pages. But the rest was so good I couldn't deduct a star. Great characters and action until the wrapups. On to the next adventure ... and hopefully the less said there the better things end!

Not what I was expecting, but a brilliant read!

Most of MJ's escapades have been open territory in as much as the story flows and whilst there might be twists and turns it's pretty straight forward. This one is different as its a real ' who done it'!
I would not normally read that type but as I enjoy the authors writing style I really enjoyed it!
I would recommend this book.

this one was a waste space. I really liked the first 6 Jones books but not this one. Having been involved in hurricanes from New Orleans thru the FL panhandle and down to Orlando, the hurricane stuff was not real, from putting up storm protectors to the Octopus scene. The premise of story was ok.

Miami Jones Keeps Getting Better

Excellent entry into this series. It's hard to convey a story when it all takes place in one setting, but this is a great story. Enjoyed it from start to finish.

Not a great read. Setting is a hurricane in Florida and Miami is stuck in a hotel.
Very slow. More details about the hurricane than anything else. Good thing it was the middle of a series and not the first one, or I wouln't read the next

A Well Done Who Dunit!

It's more than a mystery; it's also a thrilling read at several parts of the story. The setting is a small group of people stranded on an island during a surprise hurricane. There is a death and a mystery with nice twists. I thoroughly enjoyed the book.

Mr. Stewart has another winner! Miami keeps getting in problems he has to solve. The characters keep evolving and growing. The incident with the octopus was hilarious! This series is worth reading all the way through and you can enjoy reading about South Florida!

Book 7 in the series

The story is set in a Palm Beach hotel during a hurricane. A couple of people are found dead and the plot takes off. Lots of twists and turns that keep it interesting. A great read.

bad memories

The mystery was good, I didn’t have a clue as to who the killers were. Bad memories are from my childhood growing up in south Florida. Every place has their issues. I do enjoy the stories though.

An interesting novel

I enjoyed this mystery it is different from the previous Miami Jones novels. I liked it because it was about a different sport and involved different socio-economic classes of people with different problems.

Welcome to the murder hotel

This reminded me somewhat of the movie, Key Largo....people stranded in a hotel being bombarded by a hurricane. Somewhere there is a murderer in their midst!

Takes place during a class 2 hurricane on Palm Beach and turns into an old fashioned Agatha Christie’s whodunit. Taut and humorous.

BBCCrime happens in any weather.

Really good " who done it". And during a major hurricane. I like the subtle humor between Miami and Ronzoni. On to book 8

Fast paced. Read in a few hours. Two of the main characters get trapped in a hurricane. Standard Miami Jones, there’s always trouble around. Good story.

Great story! this book reminded me of a cross between an Agatha Christie novel and a Lawrence Saunders novel (Deadly Sins and McNally). Great read, excellent ending.

Good reay

Good Agatha Christie like whodunnit, a bit predictable, great storm scenes, a good read altogether. Will definitely look into the next on this series.

A blast to read. Been there and survived all that Mother Nature can give. The spirit lives on in Florida. Love it or leave it. Great story line. Solid read.

Hurricane Agatha

A good author imitating the classic Agatha Christie plot. Too slow and mannered for me. Action sequences are few but good. Not for me.
